It was awful! A pregnant woman allowed her children to scream and run around her table while she and her parents talked. From the time I arrived, ate and left, the noise level was horrible. None of the staff did anything about it. Other customers left. I would NEVER go back there again. The food was very ordinary.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 930am; not to busy. I had read the reviews prior to going and glad I did, the exterior and area is on the run down side. Inside was clean and friendly, the food was excellent. I had the corned beef hash with poached eggs and a pancake, what a treat! Well worth the trip from Arlington, WA. The hash is made from scratch and I thought it to be in the top one or two I have ever had. Staff was extremely friendly, if you are like me that seeks out unique cafes, Big Al’s will not disappoint you.

Wow-best breakfast anywhere! Give this place a try-the exterior will fool you-inside is shiny and light with fun décor and friendly service. The food is amazing the prices are affordable and you won’t regret that you tried it out. Where did they get that amazing bacon?

Excellent cheap diner that is actually quite good. Canned corn for the veggies but exactly what you would expect. Love the breakfasts and hot turkey sandwich and hot roast beef. Good meatloaf and fries as well.

The food and service at Al’s is always good. I’ve had wonderful waitresses and big, delicious meals every visit. The menu has so much food on it that it’s the perfect place to go with a group of people who can’t decide what they are hungry for. When I moved to Blaine, this was the first place I ate at and I talked with the waitress for a long time. I then just kept going back. It’s the kind of place you can become a regular at if you want and they will start to remember you.

It is a typical diner. Staff are great and food has never disappointed. There turkey clubhouses are amazing and the cheeseburgers are a favourite as they aren’t too greasy! Portion size is very generous.

Great meal for a diner! My husband had the corned beef hash, I had the egg salad sandwich with onion straws, and my son had two orders of dollar size pancakes! Nostalgic décor, and great service!

I’m not as impressed as other reviewers here for sure. The service was good and it was pretty fast. I had the CBH every one was raving about. It was pretty good but I had to order country gravy for it due to it being very dry. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.

Always busy greatest food ever. There staff is pretty good however if you go in the rush hour it may take really long. Their food is always on point and tastes pretty great. Free wifi is an added bonus. No different flavones coffee such as lattes or mochas just the regular. My factories are Denver omelette and French toast. The pancakes are huge but still pretty good. Personally I thought the breakfast menu is way better than lunch menu. The pasta from lunch menu was really below average.

Went here while visiting a friend in the area. He raved about it, I thought my meal was more«meh.» My friend got the corned beef hash omelet and… a milkshake. My friend is strange. He loved his omelet and his milkshake. I got the biscuits and gravy. The eggs and hash browns were very good, though I would have liked some onions and peppers in the hash browns to make them a little less bland. The biscuits and gravy though… nearly inedible. The biscuits were super hard. I could barely cut them with a fork. And I swear the gravy had hamburger in it, not sausage. And it had sort of a sour cream flavor. I didn’t care for either the hard biscuits or the weird hamburger/sour cream gravy. I’d go back with my weird friend, but I would order something else for sure!

Service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. Food is classic diner/greasy-spoon fare, and is consistently delicious. Crispy bacon, perfectly cooked fluffy french toast, generous servings… artery-clogging goodness. Ambiance is kitsch, and much of the interior is preserved old-school Denny’s from the building’s previous incarnation decades ago. Though the building looks 6-kinds of sketchy and run-down, it is clean and tidy and despite its age, the booths are comfortable and spacious enough that you can dine in peace. Bonus: The 15% off coupon in the free paper in their foyer(or on Unilocal for the rest of us) is great.

We stopped by this place when we drove from Vancouver and picked up our packages by the border. I love American breakfast. and their breakfast was good! The food had really good taste without being too salty. The service was very good. This is going to be our breakfast place when we go pick up our packages in Blaine.

Best blueberry pancakes in the world!!! I don’t even look at a menu anymore, just order one pancake and a side of sausage, and I’m happy!

Ive are here twice recently. Had a big als hash breakfast, tasty, but smaller portion. Seemed homemade vs. a can. Also had a shrimp salad. Not sure why the shrimp were hot atop a cold salad, mixed greens, cheese, tomatoe, and ripe avacado. The barley beef soup was so salty I sent it back. Table service could be better, especially removing finished plates. 3 stars, but 1 more for the 15% off Unilocal coupon.

There is no way this place is less then 5 stars, the prices are reasonable, the portions are HUGE and the customer service is excellent. I thought this diner was SO cute when I first went in. I loved the atmosphere. Lots of locals that knew each others names, Fast service. I went in here 3 times within 2 days and all the meals were good and plentiful and each time the customer service was amazing, however, they are busier during weekend brunch hours it seems! You can get 2 meals easily for under $ 20 and be full after that. They keep coming with coffee refills too. I loved this place. Just note that their hours are short. They are only open until 3pm sunday-wed and 8pm thurs-sat, so make sure to get there early if you want dinner.
