Longboards

After playing a round of golf there we stayed for the longboard burgers. Build your own. Mine had blue cheese, Carmellized onions, sautéed mushrooms and avocado. The guys went for the bacon. Burgers were great. Very large portions, took half home with me. We also had an onion ring appetizer that was very good. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful.

After a recent visit to Portola, we drove an additional 20+ minutes to Longboards, upon the recommendation of a local in the area. We were pretty disappointed in the service and the limited menu. It was a not so busy Monday afternoon but there was only one person waiting on the tables, serving drinks from the bar, and busing the tables. He was unfriendly, disorganized and oddly disinterested. Seemed to go out of his way to make it take longer to do anything. He never even mentioned or apologized that they were understaffed and it might take a while to get waited on and served.
It took us over twenty minutes to have the waiter even take our order. We came very close to leaving several times… probably should have. Menu was limited and food was just ok, Would not ever go there again. Plenty of other options in the area. Total disappointment.

Went here last night at dinner. Oh man, this place is awesome. Let me start out by saying they let you choose your own bread out of several choices. I had the quail on the small plate… It’s a very small portion. I must say our state bird has nothing to it! Ha. The pureed vegetables were amazing. My husband had the scallop risotto and it was cheesy goodness. We also had the crème brûlée, perfectly prepared. Service was great and ambiance was good. Would definitely go back!

I’ve eaten several meals here the last two weeks, and was not overly impressed with a few things I ordered: the butternut squash risotto was flavorless, the ricotta gnocchi with oxtail ragu, while OK, was too rich. I did enjoy the crab mashed potatoes with the cod. That was delicious. I was hoping to have a leaner meal, such as grilled salmon, while there, but it wasn’t on the menu. Beautiful views and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

This place is AMAZING! I had the honor of coming this this restaurant as part of a rehearsal dinner. Let me just say the view alone was worth it. It sits on a golf course and it was absolutely spectacular. Pair that with the wonderful wait and bar staff and you will definitely be asking yourself why did you not know about this place? The bartenders were really friendly and even remembered your drink which says alot considering how many people were there. Now the food, omg the food. I enjoyed the NY Strip Loin and I swear it was the best steak I have had in a really long time. Not fatty, very favorable. Just melt in your mouth delicious. Pair that with the red wine I was enjoying (after cocktail hour) along with caesar salad and white cheddar potatoes and I was one happy woman. I can honestly say that if I EVER come back to this area, Longboards will definitely be one the restaurants I visit during my stay.

The most beautiful views in Graeagle. Never a bad meal, great service. I had the Salmon with pesto it was perfect, my husband had the New York steak and it was very good. Love this place.

We stopped here for lunch. The view from the back deck was beautiful. Too bad the food didn’t match the view. We ordered iced tea, it was brought with almost no ice, we asked for ice, they brought 1 glass of ice for 4 glasses. One in our party ordered a panini with crisp bacon, it was served with barely cooked bacon. When asked to crisp it the waitress said the chef couldn’t Two in the party ordered chicken tacos/​w salsa. It was served with no salsa, when we asked about salsa we were told they didn’t have any but could make some in about 15 minutes. The tacos were bland, no flavor at all. The mexi fries were almost burnt. Needless to say this was a terrible dinning experience. Would not recommend to anyone

I heard a lot of good reviews about this place. Stopped in for dinner for the first time, and it was worth the visit. Everything from the service to the food was great. We will definitely stop in again. Great view from the deck too.

We stopped in for a few apps and drinks, and left beyond happy. Beautiful property at the golf course, friendly staff, and AMAZING food made with local ingredients!

Had the most wonderful dinner and service at the fabulous LONGBOARDS over the 4^th of July Weekend. Brought friends who couldn’t wait to come back this restaurant.
Our server, Brad was exceptional and made our experience at Longboards great.

This place is great. Food is well prepared and super tasty. Bar is well stocked. Servers ate nice. Friendly

I’m writing this review because I searched under ‘catering’ in the Graeagle area. I had a family reunion 18 months ago and Longboard’s was recommended; I did not know this was something they offered back then (maybe the word is out now). Their food was extraordinary! I had 40+ people at my house and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the 5 entries that were prepared. I talked with the catering manager, Mary (sorry no last name), who was helpful with suggestions.
Planning another reunion this year and will definitely be coordinating with them again. Been there for dinner several times, and I totally agree with the rest of the reviews. A definite ‘DO NOT MISS’ a visit to this place for the food, the view, the staff!

I really liked the food. The view was perfect and gorgeous. I felt a little out of place here. Everyone was dressed overly nice. I was there for lunch and just passing through. Jeans and a sweatshirt, might be a bit too casual. The waitress didn’t care but I felt eyes of other people dinning. I definitely want to go back, but this time I won’t look homeless. If your idea is «Stepford Wife» kind of dinning. This place is the place for you.

We didn’t have reservations at Longboards and as we drove there I was Unilocaling them and a review that had been posted 20 min ago said they were booked until 8:20. We took a chance we figured maybe they would have room at the bar. We sat at bar ordered our drinks and Karen came up and asked us if we would like a table outside that had become available. Enjoy a lovely evening excellent food beet salad, Matt had the risotto and sea scallops I has the pappadell with buffalo rib meat in the sauce and fudgealicous with a glass of port. Glad we didn’t turn around when we read they the post about no reservations.

The kale salad, pizza, burger and sliders were so tasty that we ate here two dinners in a row and came back on night #3 for cocktails. The ginger lemon drop and Moscow Mule were big hits with this couple!

Great restaurant and bar!
We had a lovely dinner on their deck overlooking the golf course and driving range. I had a very good pizza that I’d gladly return for. Decent service too. It’s pricey, but worth it.
Just beware — The mosquitoes can take over that back patio in the evening!

Based on the many 5 star reviews, my husband and I came for dinner on a Sunday night. The staff was friendly when we arrived and accommodated my request to reset a recently vacated window table for us.
My low score here is for the food quality and the odd service. Our primary server was polite enough and timing of the food to our table was good but we were asked by 3 separate young, friendly bussers if we would like our meal boxed up while we were still actively eating our meal. Two minutes after the plate arrived the first young lady offered us a box. We were eating at a reasonable pace, sharing three dishes over 2 courses and it wasn’t even 9pm yet.
The peach salad we started with had a perfectly balanced vinaigrette but very small quantities of blue cheese, peach and walnuts. The scallop appetizer was missing the fried capers mentioned in the menu and the cauliflower purée tasted like mashed potatoes. The scallops were perfectly cooked however.
The main disappointment was the rigatoni entrée we ordered when they were out of ravioli. This was a small bowl of overcooked pasta with a bland tomato sauce, bland dabs of ricotta cheese, some fresh parsley, and a small amount of zucchini and fried eggplant. For $ 18 this dish was a disappointment in every way possible.
It’s hard to believe a restaurant that received a wine spectator review for excellence could serve such poor quality food.
As wine industry people, we were also surprised to see that many incredible wines were being stored upright in front of a huge window on the back bar. Not ideal storage for wine.

This is our second year vacationing in Graeagle, but our first adventure at Longboards. We reserved a table for 4 on the deck for dinner Friday July 25^th. Wow what a great meal we all had. Not to mention the spectacular view of the beautiful golf course an rolling mountains and pines! Just breath taking.
The service was very good and the food was outstanding! My husband can’t stop thinking about his meal Pappardelle with braised Rabbit. I have never tasted rabbit before, but wow delish! We all had salads, drinks an they have a great selection of homemade breads that they walk around more then once an let you pick out of the large basket, yummy. The rest of us all had fabulous entrees also.
When we vacation in Graeagle next year we will be going to Longboards several times.

Even though I live in Reno, I’ve been to almost every restaurant in the Portola, Graeagle area, because I love to play golf up there.
I’ve been to Longboards many times and have never been disappointed.
Sean Conry is an excellent chef and has been there as long as I can remember.
The Pizza is better than any in Reno! A kobe slider with peanut butter, yum.
They have a great selection of craft beers, and even though they could use a few more taps (what bar couldn’t?) they always have some choice bottled IPA’s to fill in the gap. They also usually have a local beer from Brewers Lair (formerly Undercover Aleworks) Supposedly were going to get sued by Lagunitas!
If you find yourself anywhere near here, this is a must stop for lunch or dinner.
