I can understand paying 20 dollars for 3 ice creams because lets be honest this is a tourist atmosphere. However, the soft serve cone was grainy which means they arent properly using their machines. Also it wasn’t even pulled onto the cone correctly, basically falling off the cone as we got it. The other ice creams were hard serve and basically were a scoop and a half that filled half of the cup. Very disappointed… at least pretend to give me what I pay for.

BESTRESTAURANTONBLOCKISLAND!!! Aldo’s has the freshest seafood, best Italian pasta dishes, and most amazing pizza on the island!!! The waitstaff at Aldo’s strives for a 5 star experience every time we eat at Aldo’s! We had delicious espresso martinis and the most amazing bucket drinks(cruzan confusion), started with there delectable stuffed mushrooms and you can’t leave without trying the fishermans stuffed lobster!

Baked goods are good, donuts and croissants especially. Drink prices are kind of a rip-off(almost $ 4 for a medium coffee which you pour yourself). We spent most of our time here trying to win an Apple Watch from the Stacker machine and eventually settled for a friendship bracelet. Probably rigged. The duck claw machine lets you play until you win, so I guess that’s a plus.

This is a total dessert emporium, with a large case of baked goods as well as many ice cream flavors — and a variety of coffees, too. I tried one of the ice cream flavors in a sugar cone. The serving size is fairly generous — or at least seems that way as it melts down the outside of your cone and down your hand. The ice cream was cold, creamy, and rich, as ice cream should be. If I lived on this island, I’d try some of their baked goods. Maybe next visit.

Good spot to get some ice cream! The cheesecake looked delicious too and I wanted to swing back through but we ran out of time before we had to catch the ferry. The staff is friendly as well. While signing the credit card receipt my ice cream flopped right off my cone like in a classic cartoon. They promptly made me another cone without any fuss.

I ordered a cappuccino flavored gelato. It was gross(hence the 4 stars). The flavor was light but okay however it was very frostbitten. I threw it away after 3 bites. My husband ordered a strawberry shake, which was delicious. The service was quick and the employees were nice enough considering how busy they were.

Went there a couple of times during our stay at Block Island. If you like authentic Gelato this is your place. They also have ice cream.

Two things. 1. They false advertise. They advertise that they have Sorbet. Sorbet by definition has no milk. They don’t serve anything without dairy. 2. From the ice cream my family had, they said it was bland and not worth eating.

Aldo’s bakery and the associated Aldo’s restaurant are an interesting combination of Block Island and coastal Italy. Third generation bakers and ice cream makers. Open early and late. Restaurant has Classic Italian but features seafood. Particularly known for the eggplant preparations. Restaurant open lunch and dinner, seasonal.****

We came to Aldo’s because the line across the street at The Ice cream Place was too long. The line at Aldo’s wasn’t long but it was confusing and other customers that were behind us kept getting served before us. The ice cream was good but not as good as other homemade ice cream I’d had. Overall, it was a weird experience.

15 minutes after being seated i flagged down a waitress so i could order coffee. I wish I could say it was busy but the place was half empty. I ordered ham and pancakes and got the pancakes. One out of two ain’t bad. It’s the only time I have ever been there and maybe the whole place was having a bad day. Oh well there are plenty of other choices surrounding the place.

I can smell the baked goods in this place. It’s so good! Nice patio outside with tables, chairs, umbrellas. There were so many people when I went inside(5 pm on Saturday). The desserts(and chocolates and candies) on one side look so yummy. They have great coffee too especially the latte! On the other side is ice cream and gelatos. I got the Dark Chocolate gelato and it tasted amazing, so creamy! Long customer line but the people behind the counter were polite and helpful! Best dessert place on the island! And just a short walk from the main dock. Grab something right before you board the ferry!

Right before we caught the ferry home, my boyfriend and I went to Aldo’s for some ice cream. As soon as I walked in, I really liked the place. It was friendly, fun and open and had a lot of great looking choices, from the pastry case when we walked in, to the back where we were going to get ice cream. The people working the counter were extremely friendly and patient as we weighed our options. I got a hot fudge sundae, and the girl who helped me made suggestions and comments about what to get on the sundae and you could tell she really enjoyed her job. One of the guys behind the counter rented us our moped earlier and chatted us up about how that worked out for us and about our day on the island. We really enjoyed our trip here. The ice cream counter reminded me of when I went to pick out all those fun flavors when I was a kid, and I don’t know the last time I had a sundae. I got peanut butter and chocolate. It was awesome. The whole place had a fun vibe and although we didn’t get any bakery items, everything in the case looked fantastic. Can’t wait to go back on our next trip!

Bake goods are not too good so go for something simple, I got a doughnut from here and it tasted like bread with chocolate glaze. So do not get doughnuts.

I cannot leave my boat or the island without purchasing a PEACH muffin from Aldo’s. Please keep bringing them to Salt Pond !!! It is part of my summer ritual. «Coffee Aboard»…

This place isn’t very good. The ice cream is just OK. We overpaid for their breakfast one time. The food was bland and they didn’t have any good options(fairly priced) for beverages. They were out of orange juice. It was not a good breakfast experience. We like the sound of the bakery boat crier when we wake up on anchor but haven’t bought anything off of it. Overall, I’ve never been very pleased with Aldo’s and their monopoly on the island.

Great big chocolate chop cookies!!! We stopped in the bakery of this restaurant and shared a large and thick chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was totally worth it if you want to cheat on your eating plan! I am almost positive it was made with butter. The rest of the goodies look really yummy also. Will stop in on the next trip.

The ice cream at Aldo’s Bakery is homemade, and I can tell. I went here not once but twice during the 10 hours or so that I was on Block Island. The first time I got the birthday cake ice cream with hot fudge and it was absolutely perfect. The second time, I got mango gelato, also incredible. My only regret is that I didn’t try at least one of their homemade baked goods as well, because they looked like they were to die for. There wasn’t much seating inside, but I was perfectly content to enjoy my ice cream while walking around the island instead.

Everyone goes here Aldo’s is one of the places on Block Island that everyone knows and goes to. It’s located only a short walk from the ferry and you can actually smell the baked goods as soon as you get across Water Street. The store is small and dark with a few tables and chairs set up inside. However it has a fantastic porch in the front where you can eat your ice cream or pastries. It is great returning from a bike ride and then pigging out on their great ice cream or desserts. No, it’s not health food but it is so good, especially since it is on Block Island. It’s hard for me to think of a better way to spend a summer afternoon than sitting on Aldo’s porch, looking at the ocean and eating ice cream.
