Great service. Bread OK not great lobster bisque was very tasty but not much lobster. Tuna sashimi was very good I should have got it a little less cooked. Wifey got huge sea scallops that were cooked perfect and very tasty. Truffle oil fries were completely disappointing and a huge waste of money. Absolutely beautiful interior.

Not sure if It was the wine, but went here for a meeting and enjoyed every delicious bite of our meal. Since it was a meeting, we had a limited menu. Everyone in the meeting got the shrimp(which reminded me of the Bang Bang shrimp at Bonefish), spinach artichoke dip with soft, warm pita triangles, and a Caesar salad with bread. All the appetizers were good, but the Caesar salad. I’m pretty big on Caesar salad, too, so it was a little disappointing. I ordered the Filet Mignon(medium) and my Husband ordered the Ribeye(medium). My Husband and I tend to split our meals so we can taste more items and both steaks were cooked to perfection. Crispy and NOT burnt on the outside(which many places find a difficult times doing). It was marinated in salt and pepper to perfection as well! The mashed potatoes it came with were whipped with garlic and smooth as a baby’s bottom, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The broccoli was steamed and salted as well. We got the Chocolate Cupcake and Carrot Cake, which we halved and had to bring home. The Carrot Cake is to die for. I’m a huge fan of Carrot Cake and this was definitely one of the best slices I’ve had. It was super moist and the cream frosting was exactly how I LOVE it! The Chocolate Cupcake was good, too! Very rich in flavor! All-in-all, our experience was great! I enjoyed this steak better than Morton’s(where we, too, had ordered Ribeye and Filet medium done). I liked the atmosphere of Eddie’s, very cool and classy. I would definitely recommend this place for any type of romantic celebration or a classy night out with friends, even a fancy double date.

Attitude adjustment needed with the bar staff. Christmas Eve — no Christmas spirit. We were going to eat at the bar however, we decided to leave after one drink and headed to Capital Grille(which was packed and fun). This was not the first time I’ve had low energy service at the bar at Eddie M. Too bad because the bar area has its own ambience and could be a winner. Food, in the past has been fine. Good salad. Makes me appreciate the professional bartenders at other, nearby, establishments.

We went to dinner last night it was a disaster. Service was very slow. The order got screwed up. It took us three hours to get our food. The portion size was very small. This is the third time and the worst. We only went because we had a gift card for fifty and we still made another 125.00 for poor service and mixed up orders and slow service. We are not going back. Avoid this restaurant.

We went for our two year anniversary on 10÷25÷15. What a great place! Scott our server was the best! We had the Full course dining experience which was timed out accordingly. The menu lists the portion sizes. If its not listed, ask your server so your not surprised. It’s stills your job to ask! I had the bone-in bison(16 oz) which was cooked to temp(med rare +). We had an enjoyable dinner and didn’t feel rushed!!!

Decided to try this restaurant after receiving a gift card. Food that was cooked properly was good, service extremely slow beyond words and very pricey. From start to finish with just myself and husband the meal took three hours!!! My steak was ordered medium and the center was raw and had to be sent back with the cold cauliflower I received. The manager came over with the heated up dish after my husband was finished with his steak and offered a free dessert. We ordered dessert and then the manager never took it off our bill like the waiter stated he would. We waited sooooo long to pay etc that we just said skip it and paid and left.

Out of the 20 steakhouses that come up when I Unilocal from my current location, this is ranked 19 ahead of only outback. There’s a reason for that. It also comes up at the top as an ad. But unlike the other ads that appear, it does not show how many stars it has. There’s a reason for that as well. I’d love to tell you how the steak is here, but it still hasn’t come… an hour and forty minutes after ordering(and then reordering when they didn’t have the first steak I ordered). Maybe they’re butchering a cow for our steaks? Have already gotten the soup– lobster bisque was at once bland and fishy. Ooh wait. Food just arrived. Tiny portions. Half the fish at the table are dry and half are underdone. My steak is in no way medium rare. And there braised ribs are incredibly fatty. But hey, at least it’s expensive! Save your money. Unless, of course, you enjoy overpriced mediocre meals in a pretentious atmosphere. PS– The desert arrived — bread pudding was actually pretty good, it’s a shame they made half our table order something else because they only had two portions left.

You might want to get a glass of wine and relax for a while, because this review is going to be long with lots of details. My wife and I went here for dinner on a Friday night because she had a $ 50 gift card. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the two hostesses and the manager. They were warm and friendly. We gave them our name as we had a reservation for two at 7:00PM in the lounge. My wife told the manager, as we were walked to our table, that it was our first time going to Eddie Merlot’s. He was enthusiastic about this and he advised us that we will have one of their best waiters. The waiter came over immediately and greeted us, he handed me the wine menu, which was an Ipad. I’m not a big drinker so I sat it on the table. He knew the menu front and back and he answered all of our questions. We asked him which appetizer was better the Sweet & Spicy Shrimp or the Sesame Calamari. He said they were equally good and then he began describing them. I interrupted him because I was starving and I ordered the calamari. The appetizer was brought to our table in about 5 minutes and it was served on a crispy bowl that was edible. The crispy bowl was similar to the chips you get at most Thai restaurants. It came with three sauces, a spicy soy ginger sauce, a creamy wasabi sauce, and I forgot what the middle sauce was. The calamari was a quality meat-not as chewy as most calamari with plenty of flavor, but it wasn’t nearly as crispy as I like my calamari. The breading on it was light and airy, but I like the breading to be flaky and slightly dense. It was better when eaten with pieces of the edible bowl. Before the calamari arrived, our waiter took our dinner orders. I ordered the Braised Beef Short Rib and my wife ordered the Roasted Bell & Evan’s Chicken. They both came with salads. My wife ordered the wedge salad and I ordered the Caesar salad. The salads came quickly after we finished the calamari. The ingredients in the salads were fresh and tasty. Our meals took FOREVER to finally arrive. We were at this restaurant for over two hours and it took more than an hour for our dinners to arrive after we had ordered them. I don’t understand why it took so long for us to get our food because the place was not busy. There were plenty of empty tables. My wife liked her chicken and I thought the Braised Beef Short Rib was full of flavor. The mashed potatoes that it was served on were bland. Our waiter was super attentive. Whenever I went to the bathroom, I would come back to the table and I would find my napkin folded up on the table. He also swiftly cleared any crumbs that were on the table. The thing that really stands out in a bad way is that we over heard him offering a dessert on the house to the table behind us because the guy was complaining about having to wait so long for his food. Why weren’t we offered the same thing? We had other things that we wanted to do that night, but we basically had to go home and call it a night because of the long experience at Eddie Merlot’s. Also, the waiter didn’t communicate with us and communication is huge with me. He said nothing when he handed me the wine menu and then he said nothing when he laid out the dessert menus to my wife and I. I can fill in the blanks when people do stuff like this, but if he would have simply asked us if we wanted dessert or if we wanted wine, then we could have skipped these two useless parts of the meal. We weren’t interested in drinking and we definitely didn’t want to invest another hour of our lives in waiting for an expensive dessert to come to our table. As for the bathrooms, they were super clean and the sinks were cool. I can’t describe them because they were unlike anything I have seen before, but I was impressed with the design of the bathroom. As for the entertainment during this evening, they had a guy playing the guitar and singing. He never introduced himself, but he was very talented. I was impressed with his song choices and his use of his looping machine. It was almost like watching a bootleg version of Ed Sheeran. But, I don’t recall hearing any Ed Sheeran covers, thank God. He played songs from Van Morrison, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, and there were some more contemporary songs too. I hope they are compensating that guy well-he was great. So, the food was good, the service was good, the bathroom was clean, the entertainment was good, and the place had a nice ambiance. The design of the restaurant was like a scene from an updated modern-day version of a Humphrey Bogart movie if Humphrey Bogart was still alive. So, why 3 out of 5 stars? It took way too long for us to get our food considering how expensive the meal was. Our meal cost almost $ 80 not including tip. In addition to that, we were not treated the same as the guests at the table behind us. I guess maybe we would have been offered the free dessert if we had complained like that guy did.

My wife and I joined another couple for dinner the other night to celebrate a birthday. Well, the reviews are spot on! Nothing too special here, except the prices! We ordered escargot and calamari for an appitizer. The calamari were a bit chewy and bland. The escargot was nice and rich with puff pastry on top. My wife and I started with Caesar salads. They were ok, nothing special, a lot of iceberg lettuce and a bland dressing. My friend ordered the spinach salad and he said that it was the best salad that he has had. We all ordered steak, and our sides included broccoli, mushrooms, and truffle fries. All the steaks were cooked to order and very tasty. The sides were all flavorless and basic. Once again, nothing that stood out with flavor. My wife ordered the New Orleans mixed grill. She ordered the scallops instead of the sausage. The shrimp were a bit over done and seasoned with a very hot spice mixture. The sausage gravy that ended up on the plate as a side was foul tasting. The service was good. Our waiter was friendly and informed. He was a little slow on the drinks and had to be reminded twice. He seemed a little overly prepared to try to up sell us on our meals. But overall he did a great job. Overall it was a nice evening and the food was good, and the service was good. But not great, as you would expect for the price.

Went there with a group of six. Waiter was very nice but we were constantly waiting for drinks. One refill took 20 minutes for a glass of wine refill… we had to ask where our waiter was several times. My Caesar salad was full of brown lettuce… lobster bisque was very watered down. No flavor at all… we ordered our dinner before our appetizers came out and it took 30 – 40 minutes after we were done. Very slow. Creamed spinach was ice cold. One steak was way over salted and another was cooked medium well and was ordered medium well… waiter tried to convince us it was medium rare… sent that steal back… so then we had one in our group that had to eat by himself… really bad night overall. We won’t be returning.

OMG what a wonderful presentation. An eye treat for sure. apps galore crab cakes, shrimp and beef wellington to start; so tasty. Delish crisp caesar salad. And Then, aged fillet that was to die for,.just melted in my mouth, served with accompaniments of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, a side of tender crisp brocolli and mushrooms bordelaiae. My friend ordered the cedar plank salmon with horseradish gremloata and garlic aioli. What a work of art! The plate was cleaned… A loaf of oven fresh bread dusted with paprika, was served with a dopollop of fresh whipped creamery butter. Then to top it off there was the most delicious, ultra creamy fruit emblished, french cheese cake we’ve ever eaten. Do yourself a favor try Eddies you won’t regret it.

Service was excellent but food was mediocre. My husband and I recently went to Eddie Merlots for my husbands birthday. My husband loved his steak but My food was just ok. I ordered the recommended stuffed shrimp with crab. What I got was dried over cooked shrimp with a small crab cake, Very disappointing. I didn’t eat it because it was so overlooked. The prices are to be expected for a steakhouse in Bloomfield hills. The service was excellent along with the cupcake for dessert. I recommend this place for steak eaters but if your more of a fish and chicken person, try somewhere else.

Came here last week for the first time and had the most exquisitely cooked filet mignon I’ve ever had. The negative reviews here mostly gripe about the prices, and I’ll agree they do seem exorbitant at first, but after a wonderful evening interacting with an extremely attentive staff, I realized you’re paying for the customer service as well, which is second to none. They even cooked our steaks exactly as we asked but my wife decided she wanted hers cooked a little more. They gave her a brand new steak and comped us a dessert for the«trouble». The food was amazing and the service was even better.

I came here for dinner before and to be honest the appetizers were soggy, filet too salty and quite plain, and the only saving grace was the carrot cake we had for dessert. I called today to order some as carry out and was told what the price would be. I found out how many pieces I needed and called back and was told that they are not doing carry outs today. How does that change in a single day? This business is so pretentious but in a bad way. If you want fine dining, there are numerous other places in the Bloomfield/Birmingham areas. I would avoid this place, it’s nasty apps and entrees and it’s rude policies.

First time visit tonight. I had never tried this place because it’s the 4th steak house in town and I thought who needs another steak house. I was wrong. Nice atmosphere. 2 hour wait!!! But they were able to seat us immediately in the bar, which I liked better. Nice ambiance in the bar with TVs for football and a band playing. Dinner fantastic. I tried. 7 ounce filet and my husband tried scallops. Sides are ala carte and we had a beet salad, sautéed spinach, and cauliflower au gratin. Food was very good. The only downside is, it’s pretty pricey. But, the food and service were great, so we didn’t mind. Definitely worth it.

What a shame. This place was disastrous. The ONLY reason they were given 2 stars instead of 1, was because our waitress was a gem. I had a reservation at 8 last night with my family, we had a party of 9. Our waitress took our drink/appetizer/dinner orders, and from there everything went south. My uncle’s wedge salad came with tomatoes, after asking for none… that wasn’t the problem. The problem was, when he said to the runner I have tomatoes on my salad that I ordered without… there was no «Oh, I’m so sorry, let me take it back and grab you a fresh salad» nope, there was nothing, no acknowledgement whatsoever. My fiancé ordered the grouper, I ordered the crab legs, and our side of the table ordered Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, and truffle fries for our sides. The grouper was dead. WAYOVERCOOKED. I’m not talking just slightly, I’m talking dry, and gross. When I ordered the crab legs, I ordered ½ lb. The cost of the ½ lb of king crab legs was $ 39. Once I saw the portion, it was a complete rip off. I had 3 ½ legs and no claws. Not to mention, they were dry. I had to moisten them up with butter. The Brussels sprouts were hard and very hard aka super under cooked, and the truffle fries were the worst I’ve tried. Dried out, with WAYYY too much salt. Truffle flavor was good, but the fries tasted like they were cooked an hour prior, and put under a heat lamp. No one came by to fill our water or our drinks, we were never asked if those of us who drank bar drinks, would like another cocktail. Our poor waitress was running from one side of the restaurant to the other to grab water pitchers for us. My dad and sister’s boyfriend had the steak. They said it was excellent. I guess we should have known to not order fish from a steakhouse. Needless to say, I won’t be back, and I certainly will not be recommending them to anyone else.
