I live right around here and go to Nippon for sushi at least twice or three times a month. The ONLY complain I have is the price, I do feel it is a little expensive, however everything else is GREAT. The staff is friendly and the sushi is always fresh! I will always continue to go back to Nippon. The lollipop roll and geisha roll are two of my favorites!

Nippon is good if you’re looking for a quick sushi fix. I’ve never dined in, only carry out. I usually order the veggie rolls and occasionally the spicy tuna. I’m not sure if it’s because I do carry out, but the spicy tuna is a disappointment, not sure why I continue to order it. The fish is so bland and there is no spice. Would give 4 stars if they had better spicy tuna. Overall, pretty good.

After a disappointing drive through Pontiac for a concert, we decided to stop here instead for sushi. It’s a little bit small, but the décor is very contemporary with a higher-end feel without being intimidating. The menu is incredibly extensive! One side is entirely sushi, while the other is a vast array of noodles, rice dishes, soups, salads, appetizers, etc. They even offer daily happy hour specials on sushi, appetizers, and drinks. My s/o ordered the ika salad and I the seaweed salad. Both were incredibly fresh and the flavors were well balanced. We ordered an array of rolls, some traditional, some more creative. Our waitress gave us some very sound recommendations when we couldn’t decide, and she was friendly throughout the entire experience. Our rolls were prepared very quickly, and were served with a generous amount of ginger and wasabi. I can honestly say each roll was delicious in its own right. The fish were fatty in the right places, melt-in-your-mouth buttery, and very fresh tasting. The unagi roll put every other restaurant to SHAME. I could live off the stuff. We’ll definitely be back again to try many more rolls and entrees. Very enjoyable experience!

Had the avocado salad and the ginger dressing was the best I’ve ever tasted. Also had the spicy crunchy tuna roll which is a happy hour special and it was amazing!

Rolls were good, also enjoyed the edemame and house salad. The ginger dressing could be more gingery. Wednesday are happy hour from 6 – 9, offering a discount on a nice wine selection. Overall, a good spot but I wasn’t blown away.

Lunch menu is not expensive for all the food coming with: miso soup, salad and 3 diff rolls. BIBIBOP is very good too, is a very good version from the one we had in Asia. The green tea taste just like the one from costco which I like. All very tasty and fresh. Great atmosphere and clean.

Sushi = excellent. Ambiance and interior = not excellent. The inside is weird and so bright that I felt like I needed sunglasses and/or a hat. Great place for carry out so you don’t have to eat in a place that feels like an operating or interrogation room.

THISISMYFAVORITESUSHIRESTAURANTOFALLTIME! I work at a sushi restaurant and basically feel like a sushi expert because I’m so obsessed with it & this place brings me back every time. Their sushi is amazing and normally I’m one to want to try new places, but not with this one! I crave the Alaskan roll at all times

If I could give this place 10 stars I would do so. This is by far the best sushi bar /restaurant in the tri-county area and the service was very nice, friendly & helpful. I attended this place with my wife & daughter and they were as pleased with Nippon Sushi Bar as I was. KEEPUPTHEGREATFOOD&SERVICE!

Ordered 5 assorted rolls, none of them were very fresh. Used WAY too much rice that made the rolls huge. We had to peal away the over use of rice to taste the inside. I’ve had sushi from all over the US and know the outside and inside layer is thin. May try again because people who work/own Nippon are very nice.

Super delicious sushi, beautifully presented, lovely atmosphere… but overpriced. If you’re going here on a nice date or don’t mind the high cost… It looks super nice inside and very modern and new. But for a couple bucks cheaper, check out sushi hana. They also usually throw in a miso soup & salad free when you order sushi(last I remember)

So the sushi in Michigan is usually pretty average but this place is great freshness and prices! It’s a smaller Resturant so I usually get carry out but they do have some tables and booths but not good for large parties and no outdoor seating. It’s tucked in strip mall so the entrance is a tad tricky but you can see it from telegraph. I love the huge selection of rolls and appetizers. My favorite is the spicy white tuna hand roll and the geshia. The dragon ball appetizer is always yummy to but it’s filling so I only get it if I’m with a few other people to share it with.

I was here for lunch and had the salmon teriyaki bento box and a California roll. The restaurant is a pleasant, clean space. The service was great, friendly and quick. I thought that the bento box was good, but not great. It came with miso soup and a small green salad. The miso was good, good ratio of soy and seaweed. The salad was very basic. I do really like the ginger dressing. The bento box has the main item(in my order the salmon) as well as veggie tempura, fried rice, a small steamed shrimp bun and fresh sliced fruit(kiwi and strawberry, both fresh). My only complaint was the green pepper in the veggie tempura. I hate green pepper so part of this is my personal tastes, but I’ve never had it in a bento box before and do not think this is a traditional item. I only tried the California roll that had a crab salad and avocado(no cucumber which would have been nice as it adds texture). It was cleanly made, cut and well presented. They provide reasonable portions of pickled ginger and wasabi and I liked their ginger. I thought the roll was good but I’ve had better versions that are less expensive. I did look through the menu at the other sushi rolls and would consider returning to try a few, especially considering the other high reviews.

Every time I’ve gone to Nippon, I’ve always enjoyed my meal. There hasn’t been anything that I haven’t liked. The prices are reasonable and it’s never been extremely crowded, which makes it a great place to grab a quick lunch or carry out. My favorite is definitely the orange blossom, but again, there hasn’t been anything I don’t like. Everything from the miso soup, to seaweed salad, lunch menu and the variety of rolls have been excellent! :)

There are not too many sushi restaurants near the house, so I was hoping this would be a great place allowing me to get good or great sushi. Thank goodness it turned out to be really good. I’ve tried take out twice now and look forward to many more pop-ins. So far the take home has included the spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Slightly different from the typical place is that the role doesn’t just include the fish, it also contains avocado. It’s that nice addition that generally isn’t present that makes for a welcome to the taste buds. Inside you’ll find modern décor and a nice atmosphere to stop in for good sushi. I’m looking forward to trying several ore specialty rolls to sample their menu.

Great spot! Atmosphere is modern, very clean lines. Service is quick and friendly. Fish is fresh, specifically, I’d like to point out that the sashimi was served at the perfect temperature. Some sushi joints serve it too cold, but the temperature does have an effect on the cuts. These were buttery and very good caliber. I ordered the hearts on fire roll. Great presentation, and it was delicious! Jalapeño really was fresh and certainly made it’s name ring true. But I love some good heat :) I highly recommend. If it was closer, I would certainly frequent!
