I sought a cozy place with great, modern décor. So, I came to ML Café. The interior is gorgeous. The service is lovely. We sat along the back. I loved the open kitchen. I loved the somewhat industrial feel. We went for dessert. I genuinely enjoyed the Ricotta cheesecake. My guest had the sorbet, which she loved as well. The only(disappointing) drawback was the drink. I am a big Cola lover, so being informed that their Cola was made inside of the restaurant was exciting. I ordered a glass and noticed something weird on the top of my drink. I asked my friend, but she thought it was just the ice. Lo and behold, I used my straw to pick it up, and it was a piece of hair. I was disgusted but didn’t want to embarrass our server, as she was extremely polite. I told her quietly, and she replaced the drink for me. Unfortunate experience. Haven’t returned since. Normally, I’d give 1 star for any place where I find a hair but the overall atmosphere was great.

I think it’s an ok place for dinner. Their menu changed between the two times I went there and I loved the shrimp Risotto but I’m not sure if it’s still on the menu.

Came in from out of town and found this place here on Unilocal. They already had good reviews but I was still pleasantly surprised. Food was great at fair price, people were friendly, service great and great ambiance. I would recommend for anyone.

Ohh, where to begin?! The evening began across the parking lot at Plum Market and only gained momentum as I «played-through» to Café ML whereupon I blissfully dined upon the Brussels Sprouts briskly followed by the Kung-Pow Chicken.** **I found each dish to be a jewel of culinary art, most suited for nobility, and worthy of the crown. …ate at the bar… sexy help… parking was ample.

ML is just a really great place for anything from big groups of people to just a couple, super chill, laid back, but still classy and upscale. They have a four seasons patio on the side and back of the building which is lovely in the summer time and cozy with the fire in the winter. The food is outstanding along with the drinks and service! I will keep coming back!

The best hamburger I’ve had in a long time. I heard there is a long wait but I didn’t have to wait long since I went during an off time. Server was super friendly too!

I do not see what others clearly see here. Café ML is, I hate to say it, average. There, I said it. And it felt great. Compared to a lot of restaurants this place is decent, better than a fair share. However, when compared to others, including the other nearby RRG establishments, it’s a disappointment. Bill’s 5 stars, no doubt. Beverly Hills Grill, 5 stars happily given. But I cannot justify anything near that here especially when there are Restaurants… within a few miles from here that warrant the 5 star ratings. In my opinion, it completely devalues a 5 star rating. I badly wanted to give this 5 stars. It’s a leisurely ten minute walk for me when I’m in Michigan. I have failed to convince myself that it is even a close substitute for a 10 minute drive to Bill’s. Café ML gets benefit of a no ½ star system otherwise it gets 2.5

Great find in an unassuming location. Décor and ambiance is lovely and the menu and bar options are perfect for any type of night out. Fresh ingredients and healthy options, worth the visit!

Great atmosphere! The guacamole and chip appetizer was phenomenal! Very fresh with warm chips. I had the ML Mai Thai which was refreshing. For my main course I had the Tuna Poke, delicious. Would order it again. My boyfriend had the Steak Frites, tender with good flavor.

This is one of those cutesy local restaurants that intrigues you while driving by. I remember this place from driving around in the summer because they have a great patio with lights. Really cute! Café ML is a great local spot with a trendy menu and a full bar. The guacamole appetizer is amazing, chips were warm and perfectly salted, and the guacamole had just enough lime and tasted oh so fresh! My dinner was the flat iron steak salad. The steak was placed on the plate and not on the lettuce, which is mixed greens. The dressing mixed very will with the avocados and cotija cheese. The steak was incredible… so juicy, tender and bursting with flavor! Dessert was the ricotta cheesecake. This week they had Michigan blueberry sauce/compote. It varies based on the season. My only complaint is the menu — not for picky eaters! They need to add a few more basic dishes. Great ambiance and décor, and they have a good amount of daily specials. Can’t wait to come back here for some guacamole and a mixed drink on the patio in the summer!

I’m still a big fan of ML’s menu and the service was outstanding, again! They sat us by the kitchen in front of the windowed partition. I loved being able to watch the kitchen staff do their thing. I also appreciated that they keep the windows looking into the kitchen really clean! We ordered drinks, a few apps and our entrees. They still make a pretty solid Manhattan and offered me both, bourbon soaked cherries, or the standard Maraschino… opt for the former if you get the chance… Bourbon soaked is the way to go. For the apps, we tried the Tuna Poke, the Korean Fried Chicken and the Brussel’s sprouts. Each of them was fantastic. My girl and I tried the vegetarian lentil soup too… very nice. For an entrée I ordered their red meat special… strip steak with a twice baked potato, and she had the Singapore Street Noodles. I cleaned my plate completely. The noodles, unfortuantely didn’t wow us but I worked on what she didn’t finish all the same. The shrimp was good but the flavor was a little subtle from what we expected. They tasted OK but they didn’t stand out. Service was flawless. Bussers cleared plates almost immediately when we were done with them, and our server was personable, knowledgeable and took great care of us. I’m looking forward to going back sooner than later.

One of my go-to restaurants when I want to mesh quality food with an eclectic menu. My palette always is left with a great aftertaste. The décor is interested and the service is excellent. The crowd tends to be upbeat but the vibe is typically mature and melo. Another one of the Roberts Restaurant Group stand out concepts.

Great ambiance. Very laid back, cozy, upscale feel. Had dinner here with my girlfriends this last Saturday. Waited about a half hour for a table, which wasn’t bad. Wish they had more room near the front door to stand while waiting to be seated. The drinks were great. My sister had the Café Cosmo, delicious. We had both the hummus and guacamole for an appetizer, both were very good. All of our meals were outstanding. I had the salmon sushi roll on special with the fish tacos. Wow! The sushi was so fresh and the tacos were amazing. Everyone at the table was happy with their choices. The service was great. I will absolutely be going back here again and again!

Crispy Bussels Sprouts were good. Very good burgers. The burgers seem simple but the quality of the ingredients and the acre with which they are prepared put them up with the best fancy dining burgers in the area.

Always terrific food and excellent customer service! We came here on a Thursday night and ordered three different entrées: the special that was the trout fillet, an Asian chicken salad and a kobe beef bowl. Every single one of them was cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. We originally started going here when they first opened and it continues to be fantastic in every way, including the quality of the food. This is a Bill Roberts restaurant and every single one of them maintains all of these qualities.

Delicious! Staff is very friendly. Great environment for work, friends, or a date. The food is excellent. You’re welcomed at the back of the restaurant to dine next to the glass section of the wall where the kitchen prepares your food or simply stand and watch for a moment. Gluten free? NOPROBLEM! You won’t just have the normal salad options or plain meat here. No. There’s much more care taken in the dishes they create here.

Went to Café ML Friday evening to sit out on their patio for dinner. We arrived around 7p and were told we’d have about a 15 min. wait for the outdoor seating. About a half hour went by and I went to the hostess… she apologized saying she made a mistake and it’d be another 15 – 20 minutes. I understand it’s hard to give an exact time, but she was way off. After finally getting seated, our server was fabulous and the food was perfect. I started with their Bloomfield Berries martini and YUM! Beautiful color and tasted so fresh. I then had a cup of their white gazpacho soup — holy YUM! So flavorful and the presentation was beautiful with the chili oil on top. My husband doesn’t even like gazpacho and he liked it! For entrees, I had the steak salad. The steak was cooked perfectly at medium and the salad was well prepared with the right amount of dressing(no one likes a soggy salad). For a light(er) dinner, it was perfect. I was happy. My husband had the steak tacos and was also happy with his choice. We would definitely go back and were really happy with our meals, we were just put off by the long wait.

We went to Café ML on Monday with my family and my folks joined us. As always, this restaurant was fantastic and boasts an atmosphere that feels alive and energetic. Just a solid restaurant with consistent food and attentive staff.

As soon as one of my friends sat down and checked the drink menu his soul was crushed. «They have a drink named after him?» Apparently it’s some local news anchor. I don’t know why a restaurant would name a drink after a local news anchor. And I don’t know why my friend knows the names of local news anchors. «We should order one and just dump it on the floor.» I assume this local news anchor killed my friend’s dog with a hammer and used the beast’s skin to make a pair of running shoes. I didn’t pry. Instead, I ordered some apps for the table. The Brusselssprouts were among some of the best I’ve ever had, but pale in comparison to the ones served up at the Selden Standard. I find it absolutely disgusting that I’m at a point in life where my friends and I are discussing the merits of Brusselssprouts. If there is a hell. We all deserve to rot there for being so self-absorbed and small-minded. The other apps were unremarkable — as was my veggie burger. The veggie burger didn’t really hold together, and it kept slipping out of the bun, forcing me to eat the rest of the sloppy mess with a fork. Only intolerable scumbags and old people eat(pseudo) burgers with a fork. And only super-duper assholes complain about it on a food site. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes that ran the gamut from burgers to some pasta offering with shrimp, and a Korean dish that wasn’t «really Korean,» remarked a Korean-American in our group. This place has a great atmosphere, a great drink menu featuring one drink named after some guy who severely wronged one of my friends, inauthentic Asian food, really good sprouts that will make you realize how empty your life has become, and solid hamburgers. It’s everything you’d want from a suburban strip mall restaurant.

This place was just OK in my opinion. I came with a group of 12 and we were seated against the far left(where the windows open up– like a patio area) and it was absolutely freezing! Then they’d put the heaters on and we’d be sweating lol. Overall area was horrible; I felt like a menopausal lady experience hot flashes. Food: the Brussel sprouts were absolutely UNREAL! Probably the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. I had the street noodles that were just OK and the napa salad that was really good. The food came out at very different times which was unfortunate. Some people got their dinners 10 – 15 mins after others. Food is okay, atmosphere(as long as you’re not in the patio) is nice but it’s not necessarily somewhere I’d run back to.
