Broad Wash

The machines are always breaking down and the woman in the front is of no help. She doesn’t speak English which is bad enough but what is worse is her attitude. She is always frowning and looks like she is miserable. I’m sure there are eager people that need a job. This place needs a lot of attention. This is the last time I come to this place. The only thing good about it at this point is the location — close to home. Sorry had to share a negative review.

This is the laundromat next to Momoya Sushi on Broad St.
I brought 10 loads of laundry but the giant machine i needed was full of someone’s clothes that had already finished washing. So I took the clothes out and put them in a rollling cart since I figured whoever they belonged to was just late getting them out.
So i put my some of my laundry in it and come back later to find my clothes are no where to be found. So then I find out that the wash and fold service lady wearing a big scarf wrapped around her head, thought my laundry was a customer’s order and had dried and folded it. My laundry was waiting neatly in 2 blue bags. Relieved that my clothes were not stolen, I was prepared to pay the lady the $ 5 it would have cost me to dry them myself, if it wasn’t for the mistake. Instead, the lady yells at me and says that I was the one who made the mistake because apparently the clothes i had orignally taken out of the washer was a customer’s order. I asked her how was I supposed to know that was an order and not just another customer late coming back as has been the case many times before? There was no note or sign on the giant machine. She continues to yell at me and I tell her I’m not paying $ 27 for that customer’s order. So she demands $ 20. I’m being very nice and calm and understanding of the mistake, but she keeps yelling at me like I’m 5 years old. I told her there are other laundromats on this street which I will take my business to. So then she says I have to pay $ 10 and covers the laundry bags with her arms until I pay up. So I pay her double what I would have paid if the mistake was not made and take the remainder of my laundry, which was not washed yet, because an extra Giant machine was not available the first time i was there, to SPLISH & SPLASH on Broad st., (next to Gencarelli’s Bakery), which luckily for me, is 10XS BETTER than Broad Wash! I asked her why she was so mean to me and instead got more yelling by a crazy lady. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. What kind of Customer Service is that? The lady actually expected to keep my business after yelling at me because it was MY MISTAKE.
Splish Splash has a mega 9 load machine for $ 9. that’s $ 1 a load! they also have many other mega load machines of various sizes. they have wash and fold service too and the DRYERS are ½ the price. My laundry came out super clean and fresh at Splish Splash, unlike Broad Wash that always left a dank, mildew smell on my wash cloths that seemed to be triggered after getting them wet when using. Also, Splish Splash uses KEY CARDS, so I no longer have to carry around 30 Quarters to do one big load.

the staff here is friendly and helpful, and even when I forget my clothes in the dryer, they stay untouched until the next day.
Clean, well maintained and friendly place. highly recommended.
