Maybe this place is ok if you don’t mind being rushed, having someone be rude to you, know the menu, do not have a single question about the food, and do not want any changes to the standard menu. We just moved to the area, and we used to have a wonderful little Thai place near us at our old home that we missed, heard good things from a co-worker so decided to try Thai Palace. I stopped to order food on my way home from work, and realized when I walked in and it wasn’t that busy, yet the kid working the register was rude and rushed, and answered my questions«No, you can’t order that», that this wasn’t going to work. I should have just walked out and saved my money, but I stuck with it because I was in the mood for Thai food. As an example, I do not like spicy fried rice, every other Thai place I’ve been to asks if I want my fried rice spicy, he didn’t give me the chance to even ask if it was, he just yelled the order back to the kitchen(had I asked, he would have said there is no way to change it anyway). The part of the meal that was correct(Spring Rolls and Beef Satay) was ok, nothing special. Won’t be back.

Ordered take out for Sunday night. I got the spicy duck with Jasmine rice and my friend got the drunken noodles. The spicy duck came in a take out box that was generously portioned. The flavors were nothing to write home about but it was a solid choice. Next time I’ll order the pad thai or drunken noodles or come here for their lunch special which I hear is a great deal. Located in Wintonbury Mall where parking is easy and convenient.

A few of us showed up for lunch recently and found a very busy restaurant. Usually means the food is good right? Wrong. I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken and found that there was more salt and less basil. No Bueno. The only good thing I had was the tom yum soup. But again, nothing special. I left feeling rather unsatisfied. I will say that if you’re looking for a cheap lunch spot in the Bloomfield area, this is it. For $ 9, I got a soup, basil fried rice and spring rolls(which were good). I’m willing to overlook the basil fried rice and give it another try. There aren’t many lunch spots in this area and with those prices it’s hard not to give this place another chance.

Our food and our waiter were a 5, but the older woman with glasses yelling information across the room was extremely rude. Our waiter apologized for her as we were leaving, but someone needs to put her to work in the kitchen, not in front of house!

This is a great place for a takeout lunch! We order delivery from here at work every once in a while and the Pad Thai(ordered spicy) is incredible. I also love the spring rolls and the chicken soup was full of flavor. The fact that I get a three course lunch which can easily last for three meals for only $ 10 is amazing!

Enjoyed a weekday lunch at This Palace with my Gluten Free daughter. I write a lot about GF to help promote awareness and share our findings along with the overall experience. Thai Palace is full versed in allergies, contents of their dishes and less known sauce ingredients. For weekday, the restaurant was bustling with diners. However, there was no lack of servers. We were seated in a comfortable booth and allowed time to review the menu. Lunch is served with a choice of soup or salad. We opted for the soup and an appetizer of vegetable spring rolls with a side of sweet and tangy pepper sauce. Our main dishes were fresh & piping hot. Mine a wide noodle, vegetables, chicken, and mango with a side of brown rice. Mel enjoyed, and I mean enjoyed, her favorite spicy squid over brown rice and vegetables. Gone Baby! Thai Palace has now been added to my Dinner Bucket list.

Best lunch specials around! Can’t beat an $ 8 – 10 meal that comes with soup, spring rolls, and a full sized entrée. Drinks are strong and fairly priced as well. Try the drunken noodle, or pad thai. They’re my favorites.

I’ve been to Thai Palace twice in the past few months. The first time I went l got the green beef curry. I went again yesterday and got the yellow chicken curry. I can’t rave enough about how good the food was both times. I’m not a big fan of spicy food at all, but the curry is so good that I deal with the heat. They have rankings for the hotness of the curry(both dishes that I’ve gotten were 2 peppers out of 3) so if you really can’t tolerate spicy food then you can still order something with one pepper next to it. The price of curry is about $ 10 – 12, which I find extremely reasonable. They give you a good amount of food and it tastes great. The rest of the menu is a bit more pricey; most things are between $ 14 – 20. My friend got the drunken noodles which looked good, but the portion size seemed small. The first time I went my mom got the red snapper for about $ 25, and it was absolutely delicious. My ideal rating would be 4.5 stars, but is rather give this place five stars as opposed to four. Their food is amazing, the waiters/waitresses are all very friendly, and the cost is definitely fair.

This place is my go-to for Thai food in Bloomfield. Consistently good food with quick preparation times. The lunch specials are a great deal. In addition to a main meal, you also get soup and spring rolls for about $ 9. You can’t beat that for quantity and dollar-value ratio for lunch in the area. The noodle dishes are good and the curry dishes are also quite tasty.

I want desperately to give Thai Palace at least four stars, but the half dozen or so times I’ve been, it’s been a hit or miss — sometimes at the same time! Happily many times it’s been a hit, so Thai Palace is a solid 3-stars for me. When we’ve been there for dinner, the atmosphere(both times have been on weekends) is very busy, and oddly, the restaurant is very dark. I’m not sure why this bothers me, but I guess I like to see what I’m eating(and who I’m dining with). With the exception of one dish(more on this below), there is nothing particularly memorable about the food, except that, overall everything was tasty. I remember that for dinner, dishes were elaborately plated/served(i.e., pleasing to the eye, but again, nothing memorable for the palate). The majority of our visits have been lunch. Again, lunch time is very busy, which I believe due in part to their $ 8.50 lunch menu. I really enjoyed the dish called«Red Bull» and the chicken Pad Thai is also very good. It’s not the best Pad Thai I’ve had, but it’s not the worst, either. The chicken coconut soup is excellent, but it should be served a bit hotter(not in spice, but in temperature). The one dish I highly recommend is the mango salad which I don’t believe they serve all the time. This is the one dish that I remember craving and thinking about over and over again. The food is never too spicy, but it’s not«that» spicy to begin with; also, it’s not the most authentic Thai restaurant I’ve been to in CT — but what it lacks in authenticity, it does make up for in relatively good, quick service and tasty food. Parking is easy, as the restaurant is in the Wintonbury Mall, which has its own lot.

I’ve been to Thai Palace a couple of times for the lunch specials and I’ve never been disappointed. The lunch special runs from 11:30 — 3:30 Mon-Sat(except holidays). For $ 8.50($ 9.05 after tax) you get a choice of soup: Tom Yum Goog(spicy with shrimp), Chicken Coconut, Chicken noodle or if you order from the vegetarian side Vegetable Tofu; you get 2 spring rolls and a side of rice(with a non rice or noodle dish). There are lots of options to choose from for the lunch menu. This is not one of those places with 4 options on the lunch specials, there are over 20 here. From Green curry to pineapple fried rice to pad Thai they’ve covered all of their bases. The service is decent. My waitress was a bit on the cold side but there was always someone around in case I needed something. There’s a cute little patio area outside too which is cool. All in all a good deal and the food is yummy. I’ll definitely be back.

Lovely resturant and love the spicy Thai seasonings. We ordered an assortment of dishes I will definitely be back. It’s not the best authentic Thai but it’s very good.

I wanted so badly to like this place. I love Thai food and was very excited when my team decided to have an outing at this restaurant. Thai Palace was recommended by some co-workers, as they rave about the food and its proximity to one of our offices. The food was subpar at best and service was not good. The staff wasn’t too friendly, but they tried their best to be attentive. I asked for my food spicy(and most place actually give me spicy because I look Asian) and my food came out very mild. No one in our party was particularly impressed with the food. I’m not sure if they were having an off-day or that’s just how it is in general. I was disappointed and probably will not be back, as there are safer bets for Thai food in the area.

An outstanding first experience! Four in our party all love Taiwan cuisine. Everyone ordered something different and all were pleased. Their Papaya salad was perfect! Coconut soup outstanding! Others ordered coconut shrimp, crispy shrimp and crispy beef. The crispy beef usually has some tough meat in the mix, this did not! Every bite was tasty and tender. No one had any complaints. Wait staff was very attentive without hovering. This was a great find! I’ll definitely be back!

I know Thai Food. But this place is not even close to be called Thai restaurant. Taste is close to what you can get from Chinese Take Out. They pride themselves in presentation and left the taste of food to other restaurants in HFD area. They would give you hot towels and fruit to clean your palette after food. You might really need that. Food comes out very fast. Service is good. But I can’t imagine how bad the taste was. Sorry. This place is SO out of my GPS. Never will I attempt this. But looking at the location, I know«people» will go there for service.

In the grand scheme of Thai food, this probably isn’t the best in the world, but it’ll do for Bloomfield! The Thai Crispy Beef is delicious, crispy and just a little bit spicy. I wish it came with more vegetables though. If I’m hankering for Thai food in Bloomfield, CT then I’ll be heading here.

When I’m in Bloomfield, it’s not unlikely that I’ll end up in Thai Palace. It may not be the most authentic Thai food around — I wouldn’t know — but they deliver very good food at a very good price in a very comfortable setting. I always feel relaxed there. Any time I’ve been there, the servers have been welcoming and attentive, the plates promptly delivered, the odors appetizing(I’ve been known to stand outside the door and just breathe for a little while), and the flavors pleasing.

Perfect lunch spot when I am craving some Thai food. I wouldn’t say the food is phenomenal but definitely worth the $ 8 for a meal, soup and two spring rolls. Today I shared drunken noodles and the panang curry with a friend. If you are looking for a little spice in your life, don’t get these dishes or ask them to be super spicy. I would say this had the mildest of spice. My only complaint was that the service is sub par. The server literally spoke so quietly, I couldn’t tell if he was asking me if I wanted another water or what type of rice I wanted with my dish. Also, you pay at the front unless you can get the attention of a server but that is pretty hard to do.
