I had the Americanized Mexican chicken burrito. While it was not a huge burrito, it did come with rice, beans and lettuce. The lettuce was on the side. My friend ordered a combination with chicken. Somehow they ended up getting beef instead. There were two kinds of beef: shredded and chopped. The shredded looked good, very little fat. The chips and salsa were good. The salsa was a bit spicey(I like Indian food, which can be very spicey). The guacamole was very good. The flavor was just a little different, but still had enough of the Mexican flavors in it to make it taste good. They did not have Coca-Cola.

Saturday walk-in with no reservation. As soon as we walked in the door, there were two Mexican guys sitting there drinking beers and eating. Looked like a ‘central-casting’ move! As soon as we(3) sat down, the waitress(non-Mexican) came over to take our drink order, suggesting a pitcher of sangria. We settled on beer. Tecate, Negra Modelo and Modelo Speciale. Chips came out quickly and the salsa was tasty. The two-sided, laminated menu offers quite a few choices. The chip and salsa bowls were re-filled quickly. We ordered guacamole and three entrees. We were each brought a free ‘starter’ quesadilla. Nice touch. The main dishes came out soon after. There was one ‘No. 1 combination’ which was ordered with a soft taco instead of crisp(No problem). I’m not sure what else was on the plate. There was a shrimp dish(With green sauce?) which got rave reviews, and I ordered the ‘Vegetarian Combo’ which was a ‘guac’ burrito, a chile relleno and a cheese enchilada. We noticed that they had forgotten to bring the guacamole. Nothing said. My food was ok. The enchilada was nothing to write home about but not bad. Same went for the chile. The small burrito was loaded with guacamole and tasted great. Made us wish we had gotten ours! The other combo passed muster and again, the shrimp dish went over very well. A group of ten came in and after some mild confusion, were seated promptly. When the check came, our order of three entrees, an appetizer and nine beers was $ 36!!! I called the waitress and let her know that we’d received the wrong check. The correct one, included the guacamole that we didn’t get and again the waitress was called over. Our final bill was in the $ 80 region before tip. Apparently the owner has had the place for three months. It was pretty festive. Seems as though it was once an ‘old man’s’ bar. The friendly service and decent food get 2−½ stars, and the prospects of ironing out the kinks will make it three stars.

Salsa was excellent but the rest of the food fell short. Everything was very greasy and bland. Server was polite but inattentive.

Terrific Mexican food! Fresh home-made guacamole, good salsa and chips, excellent steak, nice chile rellenos. Great margaritas, too! Shrimp Veracruz(green sauce), Chicken Poblano, Soft Tacos(ask for fish), are all authentic, filling, and delicious. While the exterior may startle some, the food is worth a visit.

Went to Fajitas right before Thanksgiving(found out that the owner of the now closed La Baita in Butler, now owns Fajitas). The menu is a little odd, but the food was fantastic. It’s half Mexican and half Italian. 5 out of 6 of us ordered from the Mexican menu, and my mom order the grouper special with melba sauce. Now, my meal was fine, but I tasted some of my mom’s and was absolutely blown away — it was fantastic(La Baita always had awesome food and even better specials!) The prices were decent, the food was very good — everything was fresh and tasted home-made(not swimming in grease and sauce or cheese like other Mexican restaurants… plus, the presentation and amount of food was done to a «T». The queso blanco and salsa were excellent starters(salsa and chips are complimentary). They have a full bar, we ordered 2 pitchers of sangria(I’ve had better, but it was good — obviously, or we wouldn’t have ordered another!) Our friend’s son ordered the pumpkin soup and raved about it. Everybody was very pleased with their meals and we’ll definitely be back!

Visited this restaurant last night for dinner. Décor is ok, on the cheaper side. Plastic tablecloths, but cloth napkins. Staff VERY friendly and happy to serve. Our server was excellent at up-selling… We normally do not have drinks with dinner but for some reason decided a pitcher of Sangria sounded great. We were told the specials, we ordered two bowls of tortilla soup, I chose the flautas with shredded beef and my husband chose one of the shrimp specials. The chips and salsa are fantastic — chips are good, low salt. The salsa seals the deal though… fresh and spicy. I couldn’t get enough of it! It seems they are having some trouble with organization — saw the server and busser bringing various dishes and drinks to the wrong tables, and we got our entrees before the server remembered she hadn’t put in for the soup. We ended up getting the soup AFTER the meal. Additionally, we didn’t get what we ordered. I got the flautas, but they were chicken not beef. My husband’s entrée was also chicken and no shrimp anywhere. Normally this all would cause us to be seriously irritated, however, the food was outrageously delicious and just didn’t care! We took our soup home to have another time, and the server gave us a round of shots of 43 on the house. I do hope they are able to get more organized because if they can this place will be the best kept secret in the area. I will definitely be trying them again. EDITED11÷15÷12: At this point I have been there several times, and unfortunately it does not appear to be improving, but rather going downhill. The last time I went with a friend, the food was dripping with grease(I was tempted to try and drain it off just to eat, but we ended up leaving more of the food than consuming it was so heavy). I may go back one more time to see if things have turned around for the better, but I had to come back and change my ratings.
