Made online reservations around Christmas and received a much-discounted rate for two nights. My plans changed, so I wanted to check in a day early and stay a total of three nights, but wasn’t sure if I would receive the discounted rate for the third night, so I called the motel and spoke to a Mr. Patel. I explained the situation, and he told me that I should cancel my online reservations then come in and he would give me the same discounted rate. I followed his recommendation but when I checked in, he charged me a higher rate. I have filed complaints with the Attorney General, BBB and with the motel corporate office to no avail. Of course, Mr. Patel denies he told me that he would honor the discounted rate. Well, Mr. Patel is lying. Mr. Patel purposely told me to cancel my reservations because then he could charge me a higher rate. He is deceitful and I will never stay at an America’s Best Value Inn again. I am sworn to uphold the law and this is not something I fabricated for personal gain. I do not recommend America’s Best to anyone, anywhere.

This place should be condemned. Every surface that can grow rust has rust, and even the places that can’t are giving it the old college try. Seriously. It’s dirty, grimy, crummy, and gross. Mystery stains, black mold(yup), and gross gummy substances on the light fixtures all that little extra je né sais quoi to the joint. Terrible things about this hotel include but are not limited to: 1. Grime. Every surface is covered in gunk, and most of it it sticky. There appeared to be a carapace of some sort firmly stuck the the wrapper of one of our soaps.(see pictures). 2. Mysterious stains. On the comforter, pillows, walls, shower curtain, you name it(see pictures). 3. Smell. It smells like a combination of stale cigarette smoke and air freshener. 4. Bed. You’d be more comfortable sleeping in your car. It creaks incessantly, the mattress must be at least 20 years old, and the linens are covered in stains. 5. Rust/Mold. Rust on the empty tissue holder, in the tub, and toilet paper dispenser. Black mold on the ceiling(see picctures). 6. Overpriced. They charged 70 bucks a night — I might pay 19.99 for this quality. There’s a sign at the front desk informing you that once you pay for your room there are no refunds. This is a warning — heed it. The guy at the front desk was friendly. The cleaning crew was downright rude. We came to our room to put our stuff down and they basically pushed us out and snapped that the room wasn’t ready. I saw a soggy mattress in the median on the highway on the way home and I would rather have slept there all night than this hotel. The worst. Avoid at all costs.

We were in town for the Indiana University vs. Illinois University Football Game. In looking online there wasn’t much in the way of hotel rooms left in Bloomington IN. We looked at the pictures online and thought no frills but looks clean. Looking at the pictures of the hotel online does not reflect the hotel. The main lobby is ok no frills but clean. When we went to our room that was a different story. The elevator is old very beat up and is not in good repair. The carpeting throughout the hotel is dirty. Then we got to the rooms. For non-smoking rooms there was sure a lot of smoking going on. The hallway reeked of smoke and that poured into our rooms. The room was freezing as we walked in. We turned on the heater and it gave off a terrible smell so we turned it off. We left and went to dinner when we came back the cigarette smell was gone I guess someone complained. The next morning as I was getting ready I noticed bugs all over my luggage and all over the table by the sliding glass door. When I pulled back the curtain I saw a door with a lot of condensation and dirt on it as well as bugs everywhere. The bathroom was ok there was paint slopped on the light fixture the door didn’t close properly and there was no exhaust vent. When I went to take a shower the water was kind of warm. The other room we rented smelled like cigarette smoke the whole time and at least the door didn’t have condensation on it. I have stayed in much nicer for far less. The price charged for the rooms at this establishment was robbery. I would like my money back for this is stay. I am all for no frills hotels but this is a neglected hotel that is charging far to much. I would like my money back. Upon attempting to express my dissatisfaction about the issues over the phone I was continually cut off by the assistant manager. He would not allow me to explain my situation and talked over me even after is was forced to raise my voice to be heard. However I was not heard because he just continued to speak and offered zero help. He stated he would call me tomorrow after speaking with his manager, although I was told when I filed the original complaint the hotel manager/owner would be in contact with me and that never happened. Stay far away from this disgusting piece of property.

This place is where people are murdered in thriller movies. Very sketchy hotel – no security doors, patio door in room didn’t lock, etc. To top it off, the room I was given had bed bugs and cockroaches. Do yourself a favor and stay away!!!
