This place has steadily gone downhill over the the past 5 years. It used to be at least clean. This visit was not good. We had to request a new room because the first one reeked of stale cigarettes. The second wasn’t much better. The toilet didn’t work and overall the room was dirty. I wouldn’t recommend it.

First thing was the the fastest check-in in history. Less than three minutes. Then the price, $ 48 total for me, two teenagers and our dog. Clean room and quiet. All the rooms are on the ground floor which is great. The only issues was spotty internet in the rainy weather.

I came bloomington for visiting college. I experienced bed bugs. The symptoms did not showed until the next day I got back to my home. The hotel room is the only place possible. I remember the night that I found a little bug, but I did not pay attention. The worst experience ever. Find other budget places

I was surprised at the modern feel of this Motel 6. All the rooms are on the first level and grouped like little cabins. There is a parking space in front of each room and the entire complex is painted a pleasant blue and white. The rooms were another surprise. They have a modern feel to them. Yes, the quality is cheap but they have been recently refreshed. The sink area has a cute wall mounted towel holder and the sink is a raised bowl with a nice faucet. The floors are a light colored bamboo. The bed spreads are attractive beige and turquoise and one of the walls is painted turquoise. Overall, a very pleasant bargain motel. I did have a problem connecting to wi-fi but finally got there. The room was supposed to be nonsmoking but obviously was not. The desk clerk assured me it was non smoking but we found an ashtray on the desk. The motel is right next to the IU foot ball stadium and 5 minutes from downtown and the campus. At $ 42 a night with tax, I recommend staying here if you don’t need the luxuries.

This place is not only nasty, but poorly lit and un-accommodating. Trust me, do NOT stay here! Despite a high profile missing persons case in Bloomington, they would not honor our(two twenty-something women) request for a refund when we left because we didn’t feel safe.

This motel only cost $ 35 a night for two people. The shower drained slowly and there was some hair on the floor but overall the room was clean and nice. The A/C worked great and the woman at the front desk was extremely nice and accommodating. I couldn’t ask for anything more for less than forty bucks a night.

Some of the rooms have been updated and are very clean and good smelling — no more damp carpet stink. The heater runs a bit high, but is not problematic. The staff is a little ditsy, but hey, it is a college town. Every time we stay here, we ask for a non-smoking room and so far, twice out of the three times that’ve I’ve been here, we walk into a room smelling like an ashtray. A quick run back to the office gets you a new key and a fresh room. If you get a choice ask for an updated room — it’s much nicer.

How do you judge a Motel 6? Clearly you cant put it on the same scale as a Hilton or something more upmarket. So, Im judging it on other Motel 6’s and similar budget hotels Ive stayed at. As previously mentioned, this place is definitely for the budget traveler — I believe it is one of if not THE cheapest place in town. Upon walking in the room I was a bit taken back. It was oddly laid out with a huge floor area and the bed/bathroom/sink area sort of off to one side. This would be ideal if you were REALLY cheap and wanted to put 10 people in sleeping bags on the floor next to the bed. Literally, youd have no problem doing that. Otherwise, it was a Motel 6 and a pretty rough one at that. There are NO frills or perks here. You get a bed, a sink, a toilet/shower, some towels and a bar of soap. Fine for me as I was only staying one night, but its sparse. Something odd happened in the construction of my bathroom as the toilet was put in the way of the door so that it would not close. Obviously those who stayed before me failed physics and geometry because the door and toilet were beat to hell trying to make it close. Its not going to close people! Move on! At $ 30+/night this place is ideal if you are looking for a room to sleep in, but if you are expecting anything more you will cry sad tears.

This place is one of the CHEAPEST places in town. Their rate is about $ 35-$ 40 a night during non-peak times(i.e. graduation). The thing to remember is you get what you pay for so as you can imagine, the room is a little ghetto and basic. You have the bed, desk, dresser, bathroom and TV. The place overall is clean enough to stay in. I have never experienced bugs here. The AC/heating unit is a bit loud, but it works. The variety of TV channels is really small. Overall, I would say this place is for people on a «budget.» The location is convenient though for little 500 week since it is right off of 46 near the far north west edge of campus.
