The mouth watering foods are a must to eat. I went with my hubby and his friends. We ordered first Chicken Salna with Paratha and Goat Sukha with. The foods were damn good so ordered more paratha and Chicken Dum Biriyani. Ufff… Biriyani! You gotta try this.

Thali on a weekend rocks. It’s delicious, lots of variety, authentic, and filling. Treated very well by the staff. Stick to what they suggest, we tried the galub jamun and it tasted like it was out if a can, definitely not fresh. Going to go back soon during an evening and try the dosa.

I absolutely love this restaurant! It is very authentic and delicious South Indian cuisine. We always order the vegetarian lunch special, which is a large variety of foods(including desert) served in a cute metal tray. I would not recommend this item to you if you do not like spicy foods, because there a few items which are quite spicy. However, my partner and I both LOVE spicy foods so we are very happy with it and view it as a great value. It is like having our own tiny buffet. The male server we had last time was incredibly pleasant and helpful, he even gave me a bit extra of a wonderful paneer dish that was my favorite! Do not be put off by the interior being a bit plain, do not judge this book by its cover! The food is fantastic! My only criticism would be that there have been times we dined in when there was not music playing in the background and it was eerily quiet, not a good atmosphere. If your restaurant is open, make sure the music is playing, it makes people feel more comfortable!

Being FOB, I do miss the spicy zing of flavors from back home. This place is rustic as it can get with its trueness to the South Indian fare. If you’d like more bang for your buck try the Thali on weekends here. The aftermath would remind you of that afternoon nap you’d want to take after your moms Sunday lunch. This place has had humble beginnings and still has that basic feel. Not to miss, the Biriyanis!

I have dined here several times, so thought it’s time to share my opinion on this restaurant. In the evenings you get here kothu parotta — both veg and chicken are really good. However quantity, atleast for me, seemed less. Special chicken biriyani is just average. Chicken 65 pieces seemed more like chicken pakoda. If you want to try special biriyani, then Mayuri is the restaurant to go. Spice level in several foods are low, probably because they might have several American customers, however, I like my food spicy, so going with lesser rating here. The owner however is very friendly and probably saves this restaurant from becoming a mediocre one.

I would say between 3.5 and 4. They offer a good quantity affordable thali system during lunch hours. For dinner i prefer Biryani then anything else.

Authenticity is a 10! If you really want true Indian food and none of the hoity-toity crap most places serve nowadays, this is the spot. I mean, they NAIL home-cooked flavor. I highly recommend their biriyanis, very much like eating in Hyderabad. I would get the chicken dum biriyani(don’t get the boneless one, it’s not the greatest), or the goat biriyani if available. Also highly recommend the chicken chettinad with a side of roti. Finger licking delicious food!

Probably the best South Indian cuisine in Illinois. The owner does a fantastic job with his demeanor and the food is just fantastic, fresh and authentic. The biryani is a don’t miss also. Have not had better since my honeymoon in Bangalore.

Doesn’t look like much — and definitely nothing fancy. But they do have«home cooked» like food. Tried their lunch thali — I had the shrimp and it was good. I like the fact that they would give you more of any of the different portions if you were still hungry. Very good amount of food for the price $

The quality of the food is the only thing that makes this restaurant three stars. Everything else is well below 3 stars. I went with my wife and another couple. None of us had been here before, but all of us like Indian food. The tables were clean and the chairs were comfortable. Ambiance is divy, but with nice leather chairs. One of the paintings on the wall was crooked. This annoyed me far more than it should have. To start, one of the menus we received was stained with something. I hope it was food. I eat a lot of Indian food, but I was having to google many of the items on this menu. There are no descriptions for any of the food. God help you if you don’t know what a Dosa is. If you’ve never had Indian food before this is not the restaurant to try it. I’ve never heard of Gongura chicken, or malabar chicken. That was the entirety of the description provided by the menu. We ordered the gongura chicken, malabar chicken, chicken kurma and paneer tikka masala. The gongura chicken was too salty. The malabar chicken was delcious. By far the favorite of the table. The kurma was okay. While the tikka masala tasted like broccoli cheddar soup. They don’t have naan, just Chapathi and Paratha. Neither were very good. The Chapathi was dry and flavorless. The Paratha was just okay. My biggest complaint about this restaurant was the plates and silverware. We were served our appetizer on plastic plates and given plastic spoons and forks. For dinner they brought out our food in plastic bowls. We were each given a paper plate, and a Styrofoam bowl full of rice and a new set of plastic spoons and forks. I felt like I was having an indoor picnic. Occasionally, the waiter started music, which made the awkward experience less awkward as we were at least allowed to have a semi-private conversation. There must only be 3 songs on their play list as the rest of our meal was eaten in scared silence. After we finished our meal we sat and talked for awhile. After about 15 minutes we realized they weren’t going to bring us a bill or clear our table. We had to walk up to the counter and pay there.

I just ordered veg thali for take out. I was told on the phone that there will be 10 items. When I got home, I found only 8 items and the quantity was barely enough for one person. Halva was the desert and that was only 1 tbsp. literally! The only subji was aaloo subji which had only 1 piece of the lowly vegetable. rest was masala(onions) with only 1 roti. Food was worst of its kind. even a beginner in cooking can cook better. For $ 8 I could’ve gotten a better buffet somewhere else in town. Also, on the phone I was told take-out well be $ 7 and dine-in will be $ 8. But when I went there, they told me vice versa saying there’s more«bowls» needed for take out and that’s why the extra dollar! Cheating is written all over that place. Save your resources for some place better.

I’ve ordered take out here a few times and it’s always good. The Biryani has a different flavor than all other Indian restaurants. I recommend you try it. I’ve also found they use better cuts of meat while charging less than their competitors. Their food is more spicier than others, so keep that in mind when they ask you if you want it mild, medium, or hot.

I am a regular at this place. The food is very simple. kind of homemade made. There is not much to speak about the ambiance. just 8 tables. The chicken biryani is awesome. bit on spicier side but very good. the cream chicken(white gravy one) was also awesome. just loved it. Certainly recommend this place.
