Decent taste, decent portion and decent price. It is the only Indian restaurant I can walk to from my hotel, and it is everything I expected.

Never disappointed. Delicious food, efficient service, and great lunch specials. Buffet is a good idea of you’ve never really ventured into Indian food, plus the butter chicken is top notch. Nothing fancy, just a great place to grab lunch with a few friends.

First time here was ok. I haven’t really been exposed to Indian food as much, but my friend and I decided to come here for dinner. Very quiet setting and seated quickly. Our waiter didnt really speak English well, so it was hard to understand her and she also spoke very softly. The food was good and worth the amount of money, too. I initially ordered the cherry nan because I heard lots of good things about it, but I was disappointed to find out that they didn’t have any more of the cherries for the night– I wish that they would have restocked if they had known that they would be out of cherries. I also think it would’ve been helpful if there were pictures of some of the menu choices for people like me who don’t have much experience with Indian food. Definitely a place that has good food, and I would pay another visit to experiment with more of their option

This is some really great, affordable Indian food. It’s right on campus, which is great for students. Although the dining room is a bit out of date, the food speaks for itself. It’s authentic and tasty. The service is also friendly and helpful.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The wife and I are here for a weekend conference and happened to spot it as we drove by. The chicken tomato based curry dishes are the best I’ve ever had. Also, they have a huge dessert selection. Definitely will come back here.

Yes! This is the kind of buffet I’m always hoping to find! My husband and I are lovers of Indian food. And even with all of the options we have in St. Louis, we haven’t found one as great as this! We felt like every dish was super flavorful and had so much to offer, while other places seem bland. If we lived in town, this would definitely be one of our regular spots!

Decided to try the new India restaurant while I was in town for 2 days for work… it was excellent. I had the Special Papri Chat, Garlic Naan, as well as Chicken Vindaloo(Medium Spicy) the Char was a little different than anything I’ve had before, but decent. However, the Naan and Vindaloo were both awesome… especially the Chicken. I put it over the rice that came with the meal, and it was excellent. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town again.

My wife has never had Indian before, and I’m SO glad I got her to try it, this place is amazing!!! From the Chutneys, to the Naan, to the Tika Masala!!! My wife is completely afraid of spicy but no need to worry here, start with the veggie pakora with some tamarind chutney, then the Tika and some Naan, you won’t regret it! AMAZINGFOOD, KINDSTAFF. go normal, il! Another great restaurant under our belt!

I love this place! The food here is so much more flavorful than some other places in town. Chicken vindaloo is so good I can’t ever pass it up to try something else yet. Cherry naan and garlic naan are delicious! We’ve eaten here three times and will definitely be back. Service is fast and very friendly! Mmm, think I’ll order some take out right now!

Truly incredible Indian food with a wide variety of vegan options! I have eaten a lot of Indian food in my lifetime and this place is really special. I ordered the yellow Dahl, which was one of the best I have ever eaten. I chose«medium» spicy and it was perfect-served with jasmine rice. The vegetable samosas were also incredible. Full of veggies and not too greasy, as samosas sometimes are. Really friendly service, great location(hit the Irish pub next door afterwards), and they accept all major credit cards.

It’s absolutely wonderful to have Indian food in Uptown, but even more so because the food is quite good. $ 8 lunch specials and a great take-out option make this often a very affordable affair. The food can be ordered on a spicy-scale from 1(boring Midwest bland) to 6(close to authentic), but the ratings can sometimes be subjective – err on the less spicy side; but they’ll often remake it if there’s a discrepancy between what was ordered and what came on the plate. The service is a bit wanting yet, as several of their servers don’t speak English fluently and still aren’t up to par on American service; but good food makes up for a lot of that. Absolutely one of my Uptown dining staples.

I’d previously heard that their spicy«rating’ system was actually really spicy and my friends who’d ordered a 3 and 0 were served like volcano hot and then super mild. That being said, I ordered online to-go and the spice level wasn’t an option. I got chicken makhani and aloo mataar and both were really just great. The aloo mataar seemed bland on first bite, but then after a couple more bites, you could really taste the spice(cinnamon in fact). It was not a sweet dish like you’d think with cinnamon, but rather a dry rub of cinnamon. Either way, it was delicious! Chicken makhani says it’s shredded chicken but it’s not like it’s been roasting. It is, however, cut into very fine strips and I was delighted. I don’t know – the cream/tomato sauce mixture was really spot on and really rich. I loved the makhani! Initially, I thought it was a smidge pricey but, if you get to-go, it’s easily two to three meals. Long and short? I was very pleased with the dishes, the service I received and the price. I can’t wait to have my left-overs for lunch! I wish I lived in town so I could have them deliver!(:

The Indian food served here tops any I’ve had, especially in town. The spice is great, but be careful ordering. They have a range of 1 – 6. Be safe and order low. Specifics: the chicken saag is a must have. It is flavorful and is very filling. The garlic naan and cherry naan are spectacular. I was a bit skeptical of the cherry naan, but you can eat it as a meal compliment or a dessert. The samosa is on an entirely different level than any samosa I’ve ever had. It is kind of sweet and spicy at the same time-very well done. The chicken rogen josh has the perfect creamy texture with a spicy taste, but the yogurt sauce cools it off. Note: if you eat in the restaurant, they serve you three sauces to compliment the meal-they are amazing.

Been around ten times now and my review stands — the food is very, very good. I think the spice level thing has been worked out — try ordering on a scale of 1(super mild) to six(blazing). I like stuff with some heat, but not too much and a 2 or 3 has been perfect. The service, however, is mixed. They rush you, forget things, and the last time, the waitress dropped a dirty fork on my colleague, leaving a huge stain and barely apologized and walked away. I *think* the owner keeps the server’s tips(what happens at Puran, not cool!), so there is no incentive for good service. This will not keep me, and shouldn’t keep you, for going there, but keep your expectations low for service. Earlier review: I’ve been twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner(the menu was the same) and I plan on making this a regular stop — I am SO happy to have an ethnic option in Uptown! I will re-review after I’ve been a few more times and they have been open longer. There is a good balance of veggie(dal, potatoes, channa, saag) and carnivorous(lamb, shrimp, chicken) dishes. Prices are about $ 9-$ 14(for biranyis) per dish including rice, and all five dishes I’ve tried(sharing with others) were at least good, and a couple excellent(aloo choley — potatoes and chickpeas — in particular). The only thing they haven’t gotten down yet is the what mild, medium, and hot spicy is. The first time, medium was at the top of my tolerance, and second time, it was barely spicy. My friend’s mild tasted good, but had literally no heat(which I know is a plus for some!). So, I think it is worthwhile to have a conversation with your server about what you want. The naan is excellent. No lunch buffet yet, and no alcohol. I am fine with both, but just an fyi. Open pretty late, so could make for an excellent late night alternative to pizza or La Bamba

It’s nice ambience as its near university. Also great place to get Indian food near university. Following things I did not like– medium spicy is too spicy. Papdi chat has hard papdi. Aloo tiki needs to be more crisp. Appetizer Portions are large and fill u quickly. Also u don’t get South Indian idli vada here.

Extremely Addictive, The Chicken Tikki Masala is the best meal in all of uptown, hands down. Pleasant service, Great location, and excellent tasting food. With me, speedy service is very important, and these guys were quick!!! The best part is the food fills your stomach up and you will not feel hungry for HOURS!!! Try it out you will be impressed, I saw their sign saying a $ 8 lunch special which is a STEAL!

Good Indian in Blo No is hard to come by. This place absolutely did it for me and I find myself craving Indian food. The special papri chatt appetizer was phenomenal. There are so many different textures and it’s absolutely mind blowing. Also had chicken tikka and lamb vindaloo. Both were impressive and a level 4 spice had me sweating just the right amount. Service was on point and they saw that I was hung over and brought me out a Gatorade immediately. So much yes.

The service was very accommodating when explaining what each menu item was and made very good recommendations based on our preferences. I like hot food, my friend really doesn’t, but we both got exactly what we needed. Really great Indian food overall.

Just had Anand for the first time tonight. I was very impressed and plan on going back often. I had naan and a chicken plate that was delicious. It is reasonably priced as well. The staff was extremely friendly and took care of us very well. The manager even gave us a complimentary rice pudding, which was the perfect way to follow up the potent spice in the food. Definitely a good addition to the uptown area.

This place is great! The prices are extremely reasonable, and the serving sizes are generous. I have now tried several of their appetizers, all of which were very tasty, and the Paneer Masala was delicious. Don’t pass up the Sweet Lassi!
