A shade unfair to review the restaurant when I actually at at the Olive Bar because the restaurant itself, and all the tables in the bar, were reserved for some Agriculture group. Still, the full menu was available. Sitting at the bar I had great service, and talked to the bartender in the brief periods he wasn’t busy. I had the Tuna Tatar, which was great, and the Lobster Mac, which was good. Coffee was good and the service excellent. Prices were hotel high, but the portions were big. The large parking lot was filled with the Ag people so it took me a while to find a spot, which I assume is not usual. Rating based on one visit, and may change when/if I go back. Which I might when I need my car worked on again.

This review is for the bar area at lunchtime, but I was told it was the same menu. I’ll give one star for the free bread that was tasty and warm, and one more for friendly service. I ordered the chop salad, subbing chicken instead of the steak. It was $ 18(no price difference between the two proteins, apparently). I lived in DC for 9 years, and that is comparable to/higher than the price for the same lunch at a DC hotel. The chicken was dry, and the salad was limp and lacked flavor. If I have to come back to this area for work, I’ll try my luck at the Denny’s next door.

I would like begin, right from the moment we step inside the restaurant. I have a yr old kid, they seated us but took them for almost 10 – 15 mins to get us the high chair for infant, we seated holding our child and the sever passed several time without noticing, finally when we asked she said ‘didn’t the other get you the high chair’. I ordered coffee but it took a lot of time to get me cream. We ordered specifically, ‘Make your own omelette’ and I told them NOBACON but my wife got bacon in her omelette. Then when I ordered an extra bread, but that never came. The restaurant was not busy, they were serving only few tables but the still they showed very poor service. Food was good but service horrible.

Great place for business lunches. Wouldn’t probably do evening dinner dining here. I’ve had the avocado turkey sandwich a couple times and it’s seriously one of my favorite menu items here. Perfect amount of ratios in light turkey, fresh avocado, tomatoes, on home made bread roll. I’ve had a very nice steak salad here as well. Staff and service is just average, food is good. Newly remodeled and you’ll rarely have to wait to get a table. It’s easy.

Located inside the Hilton– it’s nice, over priced and full of people who are staying there. Despite paying 15 $ for a soup/sandwich combo– it was tasty and service was solid. Given the options close by– it’s a good choice! I would come back if I was staying in the hotel.

Dined here for a family Valentine’s lunch with our 7 year old daughter. Upon arriving at our table, the host asked if we’d like a third place setting, as there were only two. I don’t know how this was even a question, as there were three of us dining. I ordered my steak medium rare, and it was served medium well to well. I sent it back, which allowed me time to eat the sides. I’m pretty sure the mashed potatoes were instant, and that the sautéed mushrooms were canned. Everything — even the steaks — was drowning in butter. We weren’t charged for my steak, which was appreciated, but the best part of the meal was unfortunately my daughter’s chicken tenders.

I ate at the Chop House Christmas Eve after a disaster at McCormick and Schmicks. I was seated immediately and loved every part of the meal. I had Lamb Chops and their home made bread was soooooooooooooo good! I have decided to make the Chop House my place to go for Happy Hour and for Christmas Eve! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

I travel about 150 nights per year. I am usually exhausted after a long day of work, so I occasionally decide to eat at the hotel restaurant. Some of the time, this is a mistake! This is the rare exception. I ate at the Bloomington ChopHouse twice during my stay. The first night I had a great meal,(crab stuffed walleye, lobster Mac and cheese), but they were pretty busy and didn’t give me the level of service that one would expect for this type of restaurant. The manager, Bishara Sahoury, inquired about my satisfaction and when he discovered my mild disgruntlement, he immediately reacted. He offered to buy my dinner the next night. I wasn’t expecting such a generous offer, but I accepted. The food,(lobster tail, creamed spinach, clam chowder, amazing ale, and a chocolate torte), was ridiculously wonderful and the service was superb. Summary: Great food, great service, very professional!

Went there for the Thanksgiving buffet in 2015 the restaurant was closed being remodeled, so stuck in a crappy dated junkie looking banquet room the food was all sub par the price was outrageous $ 37 plus they charge you 18% tip for I guess the service??? although the server never got to us and we never even got any kind of beverage but water. it wasn’t really that good it was all mediocre. the desserts were probably the best but I’ve been to other buffets for ten to fifteen dollars that were heck of a lot better than the $ 37! or should I say it was actually like $ 93 for two people with tax and tip. crazy! And the turkey they were carving for Thanksgiving was just some sort of pressed turkey loaf it wasn’t even real nice turkey meat or anything that you would normally serve to your guests on Thanksgiving and for this price that’s just plain wrong. Nobody in our group was happy or liked the place. do not go there, especially don’t go there for the Thanksgiving. I hope this place closes. Hilton is horrible. Then in the end the buffoon who was I don’t know our waiter or maybe even a manager took them forever just to figure out the bills had to charge us all individually and figure it all out and didn’t even know who had what to drink the whole place was like they just hired everybody off the street for the day what a clown show what a horrible thing for Hilton

Bought a Groupon for a four course prixe fix meal. We went on a Friday night and it was not busy. We had to make a reservation when buying the Groupon. We were seated immediately. The customer service was excellent throughout the entire evening. We shared the maple glazed pork belly and it was delicious. We both chose the clam chowder soup and it was extremely creamy and also very delicious. I love that corn was added to the soup and the large pieces of clam. My partner had the 6oz sirloin cooked medium and I had the chicken. Both dishes were ok, nothing memorable. The sides that came with them were also ok. We had crew brûlée and cheesecake for dessert. They were excellent. Overall the great service, app, soup, and dessert made up for the bland entrees. It’s a good restaurant to go and try once.

Great place to meet clients for happy hour. Good selection of beer and appetizers. The service was good. Rebecca made sure no one had an empty glass. I decided to stay for dinner. Tried the cured bacon appetizer, it was awesome. Had the filet and was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would definitely go back for happy hour or dinner.

The service was not rushed. The best part of the meal was the Salad, I got a 10 oz Filet. First thing is I can tell by the lack of firmness that this is not free range beef. There was no muscle tone to the meat at all. Normally indicating that these are feed lot beef. The second issue was the stake was not cooked well. With something this think it should have been dry boiled prior to attempting to grill it. I ordered it medium since this would be a thicker cut of meat and normally it is expected to be under cooked enough that you get medium rare. What I got, the outside was carboned, and the inside was rare. I did not finish my steak. The sauteed onions and mushrooms were a bit on the mushy and cool side, like they may have been prepared well in advance. I paid my full bill of over $ 60 and left a good tip for the waitress as it was not her fault. I spoke with the host and explained that I felt the person that did the grilling may need a bit more training. I give an extra start(now 2) because the staff did imediatly attempt to take it off my bill. I explained that I did not want to say anything until after I paid, because I did not want anyone thinking I was just looking for a discount. It annoys me when I see others complaining just to get a free meal. Your mileage may very. I do believe that they will attempt to improve on the grilling of the meat. I do hope that they work with their vendor to get a bit better quality of meat, because what they are advertising and what is being served is not the same. If I was to guess, I would say it is not the restaurant’s fault for the meat quality but more likely the supplier is cutting corners. Staff was excellent.

I will start by noting that this is a hotel restaurant. It is in the lobby of the Hilton. It is certainly one of the better hotel restaurants that I have been to. The good: Lamb was excellent. As good as any top steakhouse. Dips with bread were great. Homemade sorbet was fresh and unique. The bad: The pork chop was just average. The fish was about the same. The blah: The service is overly friendly, but slow. The staff could not have been nicer, but nothing was done at even average speed. Things like drink refills would take forever and glasses would sit empty. Overall: Great for a hotel restaurant, especially if you are not in a rush.

This restaurant is located in the lobby of the Hilton hotel and serves also as the bar for the property. Although I have eaten in the restaurant, this review is mainly for the bar, which is a little more casual even though it is a little small for the crowd it usually packs in. The restaurant serves your typical steakhouse fare with attentive service and excellent food. However, it is definitely pricey. The bar has more casual food at more reasonable prices(at least for a hotel restaurant). I have found the atmosphere to be fun, the drinks cold, the service attentive, and the food tasty. Although the restaurant does not offer valet parking, there is a covered parking deck behind the hotel. By walking through the hotel lobby, you can avoid the harsh Minneapolis winter and prevent having to scrape your windshield after dinner. Check out the restaurant if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion. Check out the bar if you are looking for a nice place to meet a client for happy hour or if you are staying in the hotel.

Bloomington ChopHouse is a pretty solid option for upscale dining. I dined here with a friend and we just sat in the bar area, which still serves the full menu, so that was cool with us. The service was great, our waitress was really attentive, informative, and didn’t hover at all. I got the salmon, and my friend had a steak. We split a side of asparagus as well. We were served a bread plate with a few butter/spread options which were all excellent. I really appreciate a bread basket from restaurants and their’s didn’t disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed my salmon, I would say it was one of the best salmon plates I have ever had. The salmon itself literally melted in my mouth and it was served on a bed of greens with a perfect, tasty sauce. I would order it again in a heartbeat. Even though I typically do not get filled to the brim from fish the way I would from steak, I was not able to finish the huge portion they gave me. Even though it is a pricey dish, you definitely get your money’s worth. My friend had a steak which he really enjoyed. The asparagus was good, nothing special or different, but solid and tasty. I would definitely recommend it if you are willing to drop some hefty change on a meal. The food is worth the price, in my opinion.

The TL;DR is that it’s expensive, the service was poor, and the food was just okay EXCEPT the desserts, which were excellent. Eat in the bar, it’s cheaper and friendlier and has the same desserts! We arrived New Years Eve at 8:20 for an 8:30 reservation and were told it would be 15 minutes. Fine, that’s expected, we were happy to wait in the bar. Twenty minutes later, my husband went to check on our table and was told it would be at least fifteen minutes longer. At this point I was annoyed and hungry, but we decided not to order at the bar and just wait. But I started looking at the bar menu, and it looked excellent! The people next to us had arrived about ten minutes after us and their food arrived at that point and looked and smelled amazing. Hungry, pregnant, and annoyed, I asked my husband to check on the table again after another ten minutes had passed. At this point, they said it would be another fifteen to twenty minutes because there were a few people still ahead of us. My husband was now annoyed as well. Forty-five minutes after our reservation time, at 9:15, we were seated and then ignored for an additional fifteen minutes. Our waiter seemed annoyed and stressed, and after dropping off our menus we didn’t see him again. On of the three hosts from the front podium ended up taking our orders, and food was delivered by a different person each course. We did not get bread until between the second and third course. My water glass was empty for a while. And the food came out way too fast after our order. For one thing, this meant the spacing between courses was rushed. For another, they obviously didn’t cook things carefully enough. My crab cake was under-seasoned, lukewarm and mushy, it needed to be cooked longer. The tuna was so heavily seasoned that you couldn’t taste tuna. My mashed potatoes were pasty and unappealing. The steaks were fine, nothing special. And the salads were incredibly over-dressed. Finally, dessert came. It was heavenly! The cheesecake was probably the best I’ve ever tasted, and the raspberry torte was phenomenal! Redeemed the whole experience up to two stars. The set menu price of $ 55 was fair given the amount of food. The meal itself was promising, just obviously rushed and not well QA’d. The service was AWFUL, especially for an establishment in this price range. Bread should have arrived promptly, water glasses should never have been empty, and waitstaff should at the very least be polite and smile. I don’t want to hear my waiter cussing angrily under his breathe as he walks by, ignoring us! They were clearly poorly managed(only two waiters for the whole joint on NYE? Really?) and the hosts were poorly trained(if it’s going to be more than a half hour wait, just fucking tell us so we can grab dinner somewhere else, like the half-empty bar!).

I’ve eaten here five times, and even if I wasn’t staying at the Hilton I would come here to dine: amazingly high quality prime steaks and exquisite seafood(not inexpensive, BTW…) plus well-prepared sides. I’m trying hard to contain myself at the moment as I wipe driplets of drool off my chin –because– I’ll be eating here again tonight after a month hiatus. Food: classic selection of USDA beef(Choice or Prime, it’s hard to tell), just about any cut you would want, including bone-in ribeyes(hello!), porterhouses, veal chops, et al. You want it Blackened? Oscar style(crab, asparagus, bernaise)? Crumbled bleu? Burgundy ‘shrooms and onions? check, check, check, and check. Salmon, Chilean sea bass, Halibut, Ahi tuna? Oh yes they’ve got it, and it’s all fresh; I can attest to that. Great selection of breads and 3 complimentary spreads to start your dinner. Great Caesar salad; always large portions of very good sides(FYI, all sides are a la carte), all of which are up to their high standards as well. Bottom Line: In a veritable desert of mediocre hotel restaurants, The Chophouse is an oasis of standout food, great presentation, and smart design. Very nice dining environment; wait service has been good to excellent every single time, and the manager almost always checks on his diners, going from table to table. Hard to believe a a restaurant of this caliber is situated in a hotel, even though it is a Hilton hotel. No rubbery chicken fingers and last week’s lettuce served here. The Chophouse absolutely deserves 4 – 5 stars. HIGHLYRECOMMEND.
