Flingers Pizza Pub

We saw the great reviews on Unilocal so decided to give it a try. The service was good, the pizza and wings were good, but I’ve had better. We thought it was strange that they did not offer a side salad which was disappointing, so we passed on the salad. The beer I had (an IPA) was good, but the California wines were rather bland… my wife had the chardonney and I had the Pinot Noir.

Flingers has the best pizza in Bloomington-​Normal, hands down. It has a nice, flavorful crust, the perfect amount of sauce, and fantastic, fresh toppings. Their ready-​to-​order choices are solid, but I prefer to customize Flinger Rolls with BBQ sauce, pineapple, and jalapeños.
Their beer selection is very expansive for an in-​town place, and features a lot of local brews. A White Oak variety is usually available, and always delicious. My only complaint is that I need to work out more to burn off the true American classic, pizza and beer.

Well driving back home to Wisconsin from Florida and we had to stop due to the snowy conditions. We were hungry and driving through town when I saw the sign that said craft beer and pizza, I personally thought it was going to be some ‘bar pizza dive ’ but much to my surprise it wasn’t. The service (Sean the bartender) was excellent as well as their awesome collection of beers. Before I end this review I would like to consider my self a pizza snob, and they definitely won me over, the menu was also very original.

I had previously written a mediocre review of Flingers after having to wait a long time for food on a slow night. I also commented that the cheesebomb I had was very bland.
I was surprised to get an e-​mail from the owner of Flingers, Patrick, the next day! Patrick told me he was sorry that I received poor service and told me that I should give the cheesebomb another chance. He recommended a cheesebomb with a couple additional ingredients. He offered to send me a gift certificate to come in and try the next cheesebomb for free.
I thought this was very professional of him and am not used to receiving this high level of customer service at this day in age (let’s face it between the large corporations not caring and this generation of young people that mostly don’t take pride in their work, most retail and restaurant experiences are not that good).
I received a gift certificate good for a 12″ cheesebomb a couple days later in the mail. To my surprise, he also included a gift certificate for two flingers as well.
I ordered a cheesebomb with sausage, green pepper and black olive the next day and it was much better than the plain cheese. I also ordered a sausage and a pepperoni flinger and they were excellent! My girls and I shared orders of parmesan, BBQ and mild wings. I didn’t like the idea of them being priced by the pound at first but when I saw how big they were I understand why now. These wings were all excellent and I think they are as good as Mugsy’s!
We also tried the steak fries (which could have used another minute or so in the fryer) and they were above average as well.
The best part is that when I went to pick up my order, Patrick came and introduced himself, shook my hand (twice) and personally went to go get my food! I have worked in customer service for a long time and was VERY impressed with how he handled my situation/​mediocre review!
He and Flingers have earned my highest recommendation and also more importantly, my business! I love the flingers and will be back for more ! Ditto for the wings.

Ordered delivery, Finger Rolls and Cheese Bomb. Delivery arrived on time and hot! Personally I’m in love with the Flinger Rolls. They have great craft pizza also, for some nice switch up flavors. 5 STAR service and Pizza!

Traveling through from Colorado and I have to say this is hands down the BEST pizza I have ever had! We ordered the Windy City Fire and it was fresh, well placed, fully covered and clearly made with love. An orgasm in my mouth and this totally made my evening complete. We decided this has to be our regular spot to stop when coming to see family. Can’t wait to check out their craft beers next time. The staff was awesome too, from the guy who took our order, the guy who tossed our pie to the delivery driver these guys have it down!

I have only been to Flingers once since they opened at their new location. I had Flingers when they were in downtown Bloomington and always enjoyed it. My girlfriend and I decided to compromise on ordering the White Chick. I am not a fan of ranch but I decided to give it a shot. The pizza was amazing. The only problem was there wasn’t more of it. The service was good.
I need to make a follow up visit and if the place continues to deliver service and food as good as my last time then I will change my rating to a 5.

Started with a round of craft beers, and honestly had a couple great stouts. Then we moved on to the cheese bomb, which came with three dipping sauces. It was pretty decent, but not beyond any expectations.
Then the pizza came. Extremely underwhelming. The crust was bland and hung in limbo between not crunchy enough but not a soft crust either. The sauce and cheese also left much to be desired. A good amount and variety of toppings tried but failed to compensate for an otherwise flavor-​deprived pie. Especially for Bloomington-​Normal, which has amazing pizza places like Lucca or Tobins, this place pales in comparison when it comes to the main event. Disappointed and unlikely to return.

I waited an hour and a half for one medium pizza. I repeat one medium pizza. Ok i understand if its a friday or saturday night, but this pizza place took an hour and a half on a wednesday to deliver my pizza that is 10 minutes away. Now idk who you think i am, but i will not sit down and wait an hour and a half for some loq quality garbage ass disgusting looking pizza.

My husband and I order pizza every Friday night. We had traditionally ordered from 3 local places in town. Now that Flingers is back, this is our new spot! Everything is amazing. We always order a cheesebomb and then the pizzas change depending on our mood. I have had their Hawaiian pizza and it was fantastic. My husband tends to like their spicy pizza. We have also made our own. We always pick up and the service is quick and always still hot.
Flingers will always get our business!

Beer selection is always on point with the rotating taps! And they have local normal White Oak brewing on tap too!
The craft pizza is extra good — every one I’ve tried has been delicious. if you love supreme pizza I highly recommend the super freak.
My only complaint is that the pizza is pretty steep in price — shave a couple bucks off and I’d be ordering flingers probably every week!

Great place! Had a Flinger roll and was very tasty. Had the Windy City pizza with Italian sausage and Chicago style authentic Italian beef and giardiniera, added onions and was super awesome!
Will return for sure!

My wife asked me where I wanted to celebrate my birthday and I said Fingers of course! We’ve waited for the new one to arrive and they did not disappoint. The cheese bomb… amazing. Finger Rolls? Ridiculous. Pizza awesome and so many beers on draft. Great experience… even my 4 year old is telling people to check it out. Well played Flingers. Thanks for a great birthday dinner.

Not a huge fan of their craft pizzas but have to admit their creativity with the cheese bombs, Flinger rolls and pizzadilla are MORE than enough food wise. It’s the beer selection that keeps us coming, the rest truly is gravy. We highly recommend a once a month «Mimaw with sausage and a couple craft beer from the user friendly beer list. U won’t be disappointed!

**UPDATE to the situation below, this is what the owner sought me out on Unilocal to message me:
«I understand your food took longer than expected to come to the table, but that doesn’t make it OK for you to skip out on your bill (which had $ 23.00 worth of beers). Had you asked your server or one of the host for your bill, we would have gladly comped your food ($ 29.46 worth of food), given it to you in a box to go, and only charged you for the beers.
So I ask that you do the decent thing and come in and pay for the beers you drank (a Schlafly Pumpkin, a Dogfish Punkin, and two Delirium Tremens). Or, at the very least, you could delete the 1 star review you left. I just don’t think you’ve fairly or properly handled this situation.

Bummer. I had high hopes for flingers after its return. I think our server screwed up, we waited for an hour and didn’t even get our fries.
It’s unbelievably busy as well. That’s to be expected but such a big drop of the ball.

The Best Pizza I have had in Bloomington-​Normal all year.
Very light crust, pastry like, with some gooey perfect!
standard pepperoni and sausage, fennel but not too much.
Enough Sauce to ooze a little but not run down your chin on to your shirt.
The Beer selection is outstanding as well.
I can see this pizza emporium getting over-​crowded quickly, they already need a larger parking lot.
TV’s everywhere to watch the blackhawks or cubs.
Excellent service, water 2 minutes after we sat down, Weiss Beer 6 minutes after we sat down, Pizza 22 minutes after we ordered. You cant beat that

Hosts need training! Sat at a table for 15 minutes and didn’t have anyone stop by and offer water or anything. That was after waving big to get their attention. We walked out.
The parking is limited. The dining area is combo tables and booths. Need to have a party of 5 or more to get a booth. It is a louder environment.
Menu looks great. Beer selection is outstanding. Wish we had a chance to experience it. We will come back in a couple weeks after the newness wears off.

Here is what you need to know from someone who waited a LONG time for them to come back and could not be happier. At least one night a week I will not be cooking because I’ll be here:
1. Go in person. Why? Craft beer. 24 taps deep. Yes.
2. Sit on either side. They have 9 flat screen TVs and no matter where you sit you can see them AND taste beer before you buy it. See #1.
3. Order a Tiny Bomb with Spicy Ranch dipping sauce. Eat this with your tasty beverage while you figure out what else to order. A tiny bomb is a mini cheesebomb. A cheesebomb is like cheesy garlic breadsticks but not really. It’s its own food group.
4. Order Flinger Rolls. One per person. I recommend stuffing them with Bacon, Chicken, Mushroom & Onion. Cuz I’m me. But you be you. (with Spicy Ranch dipping sauce)
5. Order a CRAFT pizza. Don’t change it, love it for who it is! My fav is the Super Freak or The Diva (for those times I want to feel «healthy)
6. Order another beer.
7. Pay and tip your server. Sometimes as customers we are mean and snotty. But not you. You’re one of the good ones. Make up for the bad ones.
8. Leave a review. Tell your friends. Come back. Invite me!
