State Farm’s cafeteria for employees and vendors is a great concept for those who may not have time to leave campus and/or go through the security badge process multiple times a day. However, there are very few healthy options unless you choose the salad bar. Additionally, the quality of the fast food places(Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Salsarita’s) is subpar when compared to the actual fast food facilities outside this campus. For example, the Orange Chicken I ordered yesterday from Panda Express was mostly breading(very little chicken). Today, I had the chicken burrito bowl from Salsarita’s and the flavors were ok but extremely salty… and the chips and queso were stale.

The most disgusting burgers ever. When you order at the grill they move a burger patty that has been previously cooking for who knows how long over to the hotter part of the grill to just hear it up and then they squirt water on the grill near the patty to add that special over cooked — double cooked — steam boiled type of flavor. Delicious! Said no one ever. If you want a burger, go out. It’s gross.

If you work for SF or know someone who does, try the barbeque in the H building cafeteria. I’ve had the brisket twice and its comparable to bbq at a good restaurant and it’s cheap. And, the portions are huge.

First of all, you must be able to gain entry into State Farm Corporate South to be able to eat here. So unless you work at State Farm, or know someone that does; you cannot eat here. Second of all, I cannot believe no one has reviewed Corp South H Café. So here goes. I know I’ll get a little heat from others for giving them three stars. It is the hip thing to beat on Eurest(contracted food service company) just because they have a captive audience in the State Farm employees. Also, I have had some very bad experiences and hear stories from others on poor customer service and bad food. However… This review is more to give you suggestions of how I have found decent meals at reasonable prices, making this a good choice when short on time or weather makes it difficult to drive over lunch break. The major complaints I have had myself and hear regularly are the poor food quality and high prices. So my answer for both issues are the same. Stay away from the mass produced regular items on the menus. Getting a cheeseburger, fries and a drink will cost you a little more than $ 6. Getting the daily specials will usually cost you between $ 6 and $ 8. I have on occasion found the specials to be pretty good, but mostly I end up just hoping they are healthy for me because they are lacking on taste. Some good Specials I have had include the pork loin, the breaded chicken wrap, and the taco bar. A common item available is baked chicken with rice and or vegetables. This is usually less than $ 6 with a water and has been pretty good. Ultimately if you I not wanting to risk a new item I have three regulars I can always trust will be good. Number one is the patty melt from the grill. Super greasy and bad for you, but it’s always good. Second choice, if my stomach is not up for the battle with a patty melt, is the salad bar. Build your own salad but keep in mind you are paying by the ounce, so adding heavy vegetables can end up costing you 8 or 9 dollars. My last choice is the sandwich bar where I like the club sandwich, chips and a soda which will cost around $ 5.
