This is pretty much your typical«I know how to do the work but not how to run a business… I’m doing this on the side» business. They didn’t seem to really know how to remove popcorn ceiling properly. They told me they were going to skim coat the ceiling but didn’t, then pretended like they didn’t said they were going to(but it was in the quote). They didn’t properly cover ceiling boxes before shooting knockdown, so now I have boxes full of mud. The amount of stray mud on walls, trim, and furniture that wasn’t cleaned up was frustrating. They didn’t negotiate payment terms up front, so at the end of the job the owner just showed up with her hand out, like I was supposed to know the check was magically due at that moment. Expecting payment when the job’s done is fine, but say so up front… don’t just show up and impolitely say«well if you could just get the check, we’ll be on our way.»(word for word…). If you have significant experience managing contractors and independent workers, J&J is a fine company to work with, but if you are the average homeowner with an expectation of any customer service and quality work, you will be sorely disappointed.
