Klaiber’s Sewing Center

I read the other review on here and was a little hesitant going to Klaiber’s. I had a very old sewing machine with a broken foot pedal and needed a replacement, and the only compatible pedal I found online cost $ 90 (!). I called Klaiber’s and was told they had used pedals, so I could bring mine in to look for a match.
I brought the pedal to them, and they checked around the back for several minutes with no luck. The woman working indicated the owner had many more machines at home and could check for a match there. I left the pedal, and they called a couple of days later saying they weren’t able to find anything. However, the owner was able to rig up the original cable to a new pedal. Again fretting because of the other review, I thought this was going to cost me an arm and a leg. Instead, he charged the price of the pedal and nothing for labor, coming in at ~$ 25 to get my old machine back up and running.
On top of that, I asked about a specific part (a hemming foot) for my machine. They have plenty of new ones in stock, but my old machine unfortunately has a different kind of mount not compatible with new parts. The owner must have spent 10 minutes digging around their stock of old/​used parts in the back trying to find something for me. He came up empty-​handed, but his effort for an obvious long shot (and one that wouldn’t have paid very much even if it had worked out) speaks to good customer service.
I’m sorry to hear the other reviewer ended up dissatisfied. Based on my own experience, I’ll be back to Klaiber’s in the future.

Horrible service. Don’t go!
Near $ 100 service charge, but was not close to fixing the problem at all!
I have an old sewing machine, the needle of which sometimes could not move with the turning of the wheel. So, I took it to the Klaiber’s Sewing Center. The owner said that they would get back to me in two weeks for an estimate. Two weeks later, I got a call and gave me an estimation of $ 94.42 to repair the problem. After I agreed to proceed with the repair. I was told to pick it up the next day. The owner did not have me check the machine before I took it home the next day.
When I first tried to use it the next week, I found that my needle which I left with the machine was gone. After I installed another needle and tried to use the machine, the same problem occurred! The needle did not move when I pushed the paddle. So I took it back to the store.
The owner denied that he took away my old needle and insisted he had put a new one in it and charged me for that! Also, when I told him that the needle was still unable to move with the wheel. He said that the machine was so old that I just had to tighten the axial handle. I challenged him how come I paid almost $ 100 and the problem was still there. he said that he could fix the axial handle so that I could loosen it when I want to wire my bobbin if I let him. I was too angry to say anything before I took my machine home.
On my way home, I thought about that I had specifically told them about the problem of the machine and waited for two weeks for his checking and estimation. When he gave me the estimate, it was supposed to cover a full repair of the problem. But he did not do it! Instead, he replaced a metal plate which I told his wife that I did not want to change it and charged me for that repair! I think he is not honest. The estimate he gave me was supposed to cover the full repair of the problem, not just temporarily tightened the handle which obviously was not done very well either, for it loosened before my first usage.
