This is an older 4 story full service Marriott directly across the street from Ikea and the Mall of America. You’ll be disappointed when you realize your reservation is not at the new sparkling JW Marriott attached to the mall. There were a ridiculous number of doormen when I checked in shortly before 5:00. Two of them held open handicap doors for me when there was a wide automatic revolving door that worked just fine. Twice I was warned about getting stuck in this door. If you don’t want to do much walking to get to your room, this isn’t the hotel for you as you have to walk past meeting rooms and the restaurant to get to a single elevator. Don’t use the ice machines. They also spit out an unidentified brown gunk. And I wouldn’t get coffee in the lobby. I ordered a mocha and it was sickly sweet without much coffee. There are many hotels in the area including a Fairfield and a Courtyard. You can do better than this place.

We stayed here for a concert and shopping. Firstly, the staff from check-in to use of their complimentary shuttle was courteous and friendly. The rooms are good for the price, but have some wear and tear, however the beds are very comfortable as you’d expect from a Marriott. I left my wallet at the front desk coming back from our concert and they kept it safe for me. I specifically remember a training staff member named Mehmet, he was wonderful. Nice location, nice hotel.

Very friendly staff — I was particularly impressed with the young woman who checked me in who wore a «Training» badge. She definitely seemed like she knew what she was doing. They have airport shuttles every half an hour. I like their convenient boarding pass computer and printer in the lobby. I slept tremendously. Comfortable bed and pillow(and I’m picky about pillows). It was quiet for me, but that might have been by chance as there was one instance that I could hear folks clear as day who were in the hallway. Phenomenal room service breakfast. Of course that came with a $ 20 price tag, though. No free breakfast available. My room didn’t even have coffee in it. I can see other reviews saying theirs did. I’m not sure what’s up with that. It was clean, though there was hair on the floor in the bathroom. It’s a rare hotel that I don’t see hair somewhere, though. Huge place. They had to give me a map to find my room, but it was accurate and easy to follow. It made my evening walk to their front desk/little food shop for a beverage rather inconvenient, though. To be fair, there were vending machines really close to my room, but I didn’t have the right change to use it.

This was a nice hotel with a great location. The layout is a little difficult to navigate. Rooms are cozy but the beds are comfortable. Nice TV, desk, chair, and refrigerator. The restaurant had mediocre food with sub par service.

Had to stay here for a conference. The whole place is just depressing. Halls are hot and cramped, beds need to be replaced, three treadmills didn’t work. Better options in the area. I have traveled extensively for work for many years and this is the worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed at.

Room was super cramped! One king bed and barely room to walk. Requested foam pillows(site asked when making reservations) and she made a point at check in to say they switched all pillows out to foam. Nope they were all feather. No biggie. Just really outdated and drab. I was disappointed.

This is a good airport hotel. It’s clean and comfortable, but you won’t find anything really exceptional about it. I stay here on my layovers with my company so I don’t have a real choice in the matter, but it does what I need it to do when I have a short layover. It’s very close to the Mall of America and they offer a pick up drop off program so that is a plus!

Pros: Spacious room with comfortable beds. Refrigerator in the room, coffee, and clean air filters for air conditioner(no odor in rooms). The hotel restaurant has delicious food and wine/alcohol list with average prices. Hospitality, overall, is exceptional. If you are interested in a fitness center, the gym is medium to large size with new cardio equipment and workout machines. Walking distance from mall and the hotel offers hourly shuttle service to mall. Cons: The hotel layout is a bit of a labyrinth and the chlorine from the indoor swimming pool permeates strongly all throughout the lower level and lobby. Would I return? Most certainly. Also, Park-n-Fly accepted there.

Excellent. We came here because the Ramada was disgusting and we were very pleased when we were greeted by a nice man in a tux right at the door. We then proceeded to the desk and it was very well decorated and the man was nice. We then found our room, it’s a big place but they give you a map. It’s EXTREMELY modernly decorated and I like it a lot. Lots of flowers. The people are friendly and the staff are very friendly. It’s very close to the mall of America and airport. Also, the room is beautiful and extremely clean. I recommend this place!

Top notch staff makes up for aging building and furnishings. Visited mid-mid-week on business in February. Hotel is 10 minute drive from MSP, so its not exactly on the airport. Check-in: The lobby appears to be recently renovated with contemporary design. Arrived around midnight and was greeted by cheerful front desk staff. He was happy to explain the layout of the property, provide toiletries, and even offered a cold bottle of water. He absolutely stated my stay the right way. Room: My room was located in the south west wing, which requires navigation through quite a labyrinth! After two separate elevator rides and over a dozen turns, i arrived at my room. The room was a single king room. It was clean, but the furniture was oversized for the space. Sheets on bed were hard, and further investigation revealed they are not the typical Marriott sheets, but instead they are a lower quality protect. In room lavatory: The lavatory was dated, with aged fixtures and discolored floor/ceiling areas. It was clean, but just felt like the kind of place that mold and body fluilds thrived. My shower had a very loud sound of rushing water in the wall, and the next rooms shower was equally loud through my wall. Additionally, the toilet seat was broken off of the toilet making for quite the roller coaster ride. Executive lounge: The executive was large, woth seating for about 25. Evening food included veggies and cheese along with a simple main dish(pasta or chicken the nights i was there). An honor bar with quality liquor and limited beer/wine is also avaliable along with great selection of carbonated beverages, bottled water, and juice.

This hotel really stood out for me. The doormen, concierge, front desk, the room, the EXCELLENT bed, beautiful pool area and large outdoor courtyard all just excellent !! The breakfast in the concierge lounge was very nice. Beautiful décor and very clean and pretty throughout. The rooms are very nice, with great showers and linens. The memory foam bed was splendid! A KING size bed that was so large my 6 ft tall self was swimming in it! I wAs surprised to read another review about the beds being small which was not the case here but we did have an elite member room. All of the above with outstanding service. I’d recommend it to anyone.

I just stayed in Minnesota and this hotel was great! The place is super well kept and clean. The room was great no problems with anything. I didn’t really use the amenities so I cannot really say much there. It’s close to the mall, tons of food and a short distance from the city. I overall just really enjoyed the entire experience and the fact that I had a great hotel made it even better. The breakfast bar/area is great! The only annoying part was there was a convention there but that’s not really anything important. Overall everything met my standards and I was pleased with my stay.

This is a good place to stay that is close to the mall and the airport. We have been here twice now for trips to Minneapolis. As other reviewers have noted the staff is quite friendly. It is an older hotel with a confusing layout. That is the only drawback, but mostly easy to overcome. I will say the concierge lounge is as far away as it can possibly be. We did get lost getting back to our room! An older hotel does mean a larger pool. If you have kids, they will love it. There are shuttles for the airport and mall also.

Such a huge hotel never had any issues though… I just wish it wasn’t such a far walk to the lobby or to the microwave but that’s not their fault!!! :) the shuttle brings you to both the airport and the mall of America which is across the street

Massive lobby area, small guest rooms, and narrow hallways on each floor. If passing another person in the floor hallway, someone must stop so the other person can walk by. There were big TVs in the rooms, but my room had a terrible cable connection. Most of the basic channels(NBC, ABC, CBS) were partially-fuzzed out. Bistro 79, the restaurant in the hotel, doesn’t have its own Unilocal Page, but I would also give it 2 stars. It looked nice, but the service and the food weren’t that great.

and a year later… Meh Ill constructed. The walk was so far from the front desk to my room, I forgot the sequence of room numbers we were in by the time we arrived. When we came down for dinner, we took a different elevator which tossed us into an Alice down the rabbit hole experience. I am not kidding. We ended up in a dead end hall with a door and as I walked up the two stairs to go through the door, I changed my mind, and the girls following behind me were so close(as intrigued as I was at where we were going to pop out) that they bumped into the back of my body full force and we tumbled into the new hallway. Eventually we found the restaurant bar, which was awesome! Awesome! Great food. Brilliant service. Cheery bartender man The front desk staff was less than super happy to see us. And a rude comment was overheard, from one of the office people to two workers who were working in the lobby. Super unprofessional, and just unnecessary. Poor wifi. Great bar staff and decent food, did I mention that? Do not like the auto air system w motion detectors. It took 45 mins for my room to cool down. I went down for a drink and the system decided to go back to humid and sucky. Yeah, sucky. I am torn. Some parts are good, some staff is good. Do not appreciate the maze or the rooms up, over and down the hall. The housekeeper which gave us directions actually smiled and welcomed us in two languages. Sweet girl! One thumb up today, maybe one thumb down… It’s alright. p. s. this review is for the last 2 visits — one average, one average, but I want to say the bartender made up for a lot of the average, and treated our group like he was happy we were there. Makes a difference.

I’m partial to the Hilton and Radisson brands, but I would contemplate putting the Marriott brand into my rotation after this week. I spent a week at this location and was throughly impressed by the outward display of friendliness and professionalism shown by the entire staff. Extremely attentive, helpful and very friendly. Acknowledgement to me is huge. Whether its a simple greeting, a smile or a simple can I help you with something. This hotel staff is on it! Rooms are very nice. Big Screen TV’s, Nice desk area, clean and well maintained. Lobby bathrooms are kept clean and cleaned frequently which is nice to see. Bathroom sink areas and trash aren’t overflowing with gartbage. There were a fair number out of order, but didn’t affect me. Free parking. Free Shuttle Food is pretty decent. The only part I’m not a fan of is having to pay for the internet. Just about every other brand I frequent offers free internet. Offer free interenet in the future and I’d most likely bump it up to a 5. Bravo to all the staff working at this Marriott!

Meanwhile, at a hotel by the airport… So I’m a business traveler. A frequent one at that. I like Marriotts because I think they’re very consistent, they usually have free parking on the premises, they’re clean, room service and fairly comfortable beds. It’s really all you can ask for during business travel. This Marriott outpost definitely delivers. My room, while on the smaller side, was definitely clean. Room service was decent, too. I liked that the delivery guy was very adamant about assuring me there were no sun-dried tomatoes in my grilled chicken wrap. They offer free parking and while the bed itself was comfortable, I took issue with the linens. The sheets were itchy. I hate that. I’m a delicate flower with sensitive skin, ok? Softness is critical. I also enjoyed the responsiveness of this location to my request for a room change at 10:30 pm. Long story short, I started experiencing some next level paranormal activity type noises in my room, which was not only annoying, but a little creepy. They moved me immediately and even sent up a bell hop to move my luggage so I didn’t have to come down to the lobby in my jammies to get a new room key. Very professional and courteous. I travel to Minneapolis and I’ll definitely consider using this location again. It’s VERY close to the airport as well as Mall of America. They offer shuttles to both places, too, if rental cars aren’t your jam. Now if only my Visa card could undo the spending that happened at Mall of America…

$ 89/night weekend rate, not too bad for this area. They’ve got a shuttle that runs to the Mall of America every 30 minutes. It picks up in front of the hotel lobby and drops off at the north end of the Mall. You can walk there in about 10 – 15 minutes yourself, but with the Minnesota sun on your back(or the snow on the ground), it could be quite a task. Layout of the hotel is a little weird. It feels like it’s a bunch of buildings pasted together, so the sequencing between room numbers is a little off. There are certain elevators and staircases that don’t have access to certain floors or buildings. Gym and pool are nice, one of the better I’ve seen in a while. Parking is free in the lot.
