I would say this is my favorite Sanrio store that I’ve visited. I was sad when the old one closed but I was I’ve been more than very satisfied with the new Sanrio store. I love the mini house they have in the store, along with the huge life size chococat and hello kitty doll they have at their store window. The selection is always vast, I think I frequent this store enough that the manager recognizes me now and knows which character I usually buy.

I was so sad when the Mall of America lost its Sanrio store. Then a few years later, MOA got its Sanrio store back again! YAY! I have a Hello Kitty problem. I don’t just mean that as a «I am addicted to Hello Kitty stuff» kind of problem, I also mean that as a «I hate things that are pink yet love Hello Kitty» problem. For years I’ve found most of my HK stuff online or ordered from overseas, as most of the US market was given little more than pink death. Still, I’ve been vigilant to always check Sanrio stores whenever possible. I’ve mostly been ignored when at Sanrio at MOA. Why? I don’t know. Maybe because I’m always complaining about all the pink crap. Maybe the staff just ignores everyone. But today’s visit I was entranced by the Tokidoki offerings, and they started paying attention. They were whipping out stuff from behind the counter to give me a closer look without me even asking. It was pretty awesome. Granted, these were some of the more pricey items in the store so it makes sense that they’d perk up… but still, I like attention and suggestions. MOA’s Sanrio store can’t help that it’s often full of stuff I don’t want, but I’d like to think that there are possibilities in the future that the staff will show me the same service they did today even when I’m not buying designer bags. It would be nice if today was not just an anomaly, but that remains to be seen.
