ATTN: BloNo folks: Stolfa’s Pizza cannot be trusted. They said my order was delivered, but no one ever showed up. The stoners working there said I «must have forgotten» the delivery. When I requested a manager or owner, I was told that the person in charge was the«head cook», only to end up speaking to the same person again. Never order from this scam of a store ever again.

I’ve had great pizza from here, but I have also had really overcooked pizza from here. That basically sums up my two experiences. I will give it another shot, and update my review accordingly. The time the pizza was great, it was really great. It reminded me of a lot of Italian hole-in-the-wall type of pizza that I’ve had before: strong crust, sweet sauce, and thick, heavy cheese(this is the thin-crust, I’ve never done the deep dish). There is no dining room at this establishment, it’s kind of a drive up, pick up, take home kind of deal. They also deliver. I live about two blocks from the place, and delivery took about 45 minutes on a Tuesday night. Not too bad, although now you know how lazy I am.

By far 1 of my favorite places to grub. The pizza is amazing, great chicken & mostaccioli dinners… Especially if you get them together & grub«family style». Wish there was dine in option but food is totally worth delivery or carry out!

Stolfas can’t get our order right, period. I’ve had at least 4 occasions when either the pizza topping is incorrect or our chicken order is wrong. I hate to call and complain but it’s gotten to the point of being ridiculous! We’re offered credit, but at this point I’m done ordering. Sadly I wouldn’t recommend. I’d go Papa Johns any day.

They make some great pizza and Italian beef. I ordered from them last night and got a few beefs, fries, and the $ 20 pizza that comes with dough bites and a 2 liter. The fries are nothing great, the au jus was pretty good, but they didn’t really tell you what they put on their beef. It tasted like onions were on itand such to me. I’m not big on onion flavored things, but I ate the beef regardless. For a picky eater, this is a relief, honestly! The fries just felt soggy and were seasoned. I wish they would have used crinkle cuts or steak fries instead. They give you a lot of au jus unlike most places I get the beef from. One little cup ain’t enough for a dippin’ boy like me! Aside from that their pizza came hot and fresh. The only downside IMO is the fact the cheese and such falls off your pizza. They should allow their pizzas to cool down a bit before sending it out to a customer.

I really enjoy the stuffed pizza. Plenty of toppings to choose from. Reminds me of stuffed pizza from Chicago. Lots of flavor and zest.

Tried the thin crust pizza(pepperoni and green olives, my favorite combo) Like most places here in BLM they cut their pizza in squares(no idea why). The order of their toppings is unusual: 1 dough 2 sauce 3 toppings 4 cheese I didn’t really like this setup and the cheese to sauce to topping ratio seemed off to me. Crust was ok nothing to write home about. Overall decent pizza just not that great for the price. Sad as it is to say I’d rather do Papa Murphys.

Stolfa’s came onto the Bloomington pizza scene strong. More than anything, I think they can credit their success to a strong social media presence – like nothing I’ve ever seen in Bloomington-Normal. They had a «share this post for a free…» campaign like I’ve never seen. Their Facebook page has over 6,000 followers. That’s remarkable. They clearly got their name out their, which is important for any new restaurant, but especially for one with such a hidden location. They’re located within a neighborhood just east of Illinois Wesleyan University. But that’s okay because they’re delivery and carry-out only. Their pizza is very cheesy and salty, which means it’s very good. But don’t let the name fool you. Stolfa’s is more than just pizza. They also make the best fried chicken that I’ve had in Bloomington and some good dough nuggets. They advertise their walleye dinner lot, so I’ll have to try that sometime. Just check their Facebook page for daily specials.

OK, my plan was to make my own dough and pizza for the 2d Bears game of the year., but ran out of time. Yep, Da Bears won, can you say 16 – 0. We ordered form Stolfa’s based on being open and offering delivery. It was a solid pizza with an abundance of topping; cheese, sausage and garlic. The crust was a little bready, thin but a little too much. Delivery time was adequate for a a Sunday football day. Delivery man was courteous and it was easy using the debit card. I will order again and recommend to anyone.

Very good pizza. I’ve only ordered once but I will certainly do it again. They have two types of crust(thin and stuffed). I ordered their pizza with everything on it and that one only comes on thin. I loved it! However, I’ll likely stick to two or three toppings in the future. It was just over the top with everything on it but it was fantastic. If you like CJ’s Restaurant you’ll love Stolfa’s. I believe CJ’s son runs it and I also was told this is the pizza they used to serve at CJ’s(citation needed ;-) Anyway, they have a full menu but is a take out /delivery place only. They may have picnic tables outside(not sure).

Best Chicago-style pizza in the area! I am from the suburbs of Chicago and haven’t been able to find any decent pizza in the area. Stolfas is amazing and has great prices!

Way overpriced. Ordered«Whole Family» pizza during first visit to Bloomington. While the pizza was good, I have definitely had better and at $ 22 bucks(including tax) for a small 10 in pie, I expected a lot more. The pie needed more sauce and the crust reminded me of store bought pizza.

Had Stolfa’s several times now. First for the positives — I don’t mind the no dine-in option. It even has a drive-thru window. Order ahead and pick it up. Really awesome deep dish. Try it with sausage and spinach combo. Buttery crust, lots of cheese, and generous toppings. Delish. I’ve had the walleye and chicken dinners — portion sizes are very generous. You may consider sharing, especially at lunch. Chicken and walleye are good, a little on the salty side, but good. Staff — super friendly and knowledgeable and prepared with suggestions. This has been consistent. Kudos to them in this department! Now for the some things I think could improve. The overall price point is pretty high, even for B/N. Get a pizza and add salad and cake and it gets expensive fast. Hint — use social media, you’ll find deals there. Next, the chocolate cake that is a knock-off of popular Chicago-land chain’s iconic cake. Holy canned frosting! Yes, the cake is good, but whoa! Half the frosting would do and at $ 4 per slice, look up a mayonnaise cake recipe and buy your own canned chocolate frosting and save yourself some money. Mac-N-Cheese — now I love some good mac and this is far from it. The parmesan totally takes over and it is entirely too sharp. It is definitely a «grown-up» mac — not kid friendly. Taste and texture were off-putting. All in all, I’ll go back for the pizza for sure, and occasionally another meal. Maybe I’ll try a sandwich next time. If you don’t mind paying a premium for good service and good pizza, this place is for you.

Stolfa’s I am holding back one star because there is no dining in, if there was seating you would have four stars. Upon entering the restaurant my dinner guest and I were greeted by the owner. He asked if we had been there before, neither of us had been. Right away he told us we should try the chicken, that was my plan even before the recommendation and my companion ordered the walleye. As our order was being prepared the owner came back over to us holding a cup, he asked us if we liked chocolate, who doesn’t? He handed over the cup and told us it was their chocolate cake shake, WTF? It was one of the most decadent and delicious things ever done with chocolate. You must order one and enjoy. Salty, this is what cost them a second star. The walleye and mac n cheese were too salty for my taste. The chicken was less salty. I’m not a fan of walleye but I tried my friends and besides being salty it had a good flavor and I would recommend it. The food was prepared quickly and the price was great for the amount you get. I will order from here again, next time I will try the pizza and of course I will order another shake.

My family ordered from Stolfas Pizza tonight for the first time. We ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage, mushroom, and onions. We also split up a piece of the chocolate cake I keep hearing so much about. The pizza was very very good! The chocolate cake was also very good! The staff was attentive and polite. The location was packed! There is just no other way to put it! It was extremely busy there! There were tons of people coming in to pick up their orders. There is no dine in. It is important to know it is carry out and delivery ONLY!

Tried a bit of everything. Fried chicken, Walleye, Pizza, Salad. Overall nothing exceptional, but not bad. The chicken and walleye were pretty good. Pizza crust was rather bland, with not much flavor. Sauce was pretty good. I had the italian beef pizza. Beef had good flavor. Decent amount of cheese. Walleye was a bit on the spicy side. Lots of black pepper in the batter. My son commented on how spicy it was. I thought it was pretty good. Chicken was very juicy and not greasy at all. I will eat here again, and most likely stick to the Fish and Chicken, which is rather odd for an Italian place. My wife did not like the salad at all. This is what is holding this review back from four stars. She commented that the lettuce was slimy and the rach dressing was prepackaged.

So far, I have had their deep dish pizza delivered over the weekend, and their walleye dinner, and a piece of their fried chicken, carryout tonight. These folks are on to something good. Their deep dish is straightforward Chicago style fare. It is as good as Due or Lou Malnattis. The fried chicken and fish are also fantastic. Crispy and juicy without being greasy. My only real concern is their sides. The coleslaw is rather unremarkable, and even though they offer Mac and cheese as a standard side, I opted for fries. They were good… but not worth the $ 2 up charge. I’ll try the Mac n cheese next time… I guess… I found the delivery to be prompt and their staff to be easy to deal with. I wish them the best, and look forward to eating there again sometime soon.
