I went to Atlas yesterday for the first time. I had a really enjoyable experience, drinks were reasonably priced, company was good, no complaints. My friend was too drunk and got kicked out for throwing the skee ball too hard. That’s fine, he probably deserved that. But we came back today, and I was waiting outside the woman’s bathroom for my girlfriend, and the most aggressive, unfortunate-looking ponytailed male employee of atlas grabbed me and said some really inaccurate, unfortunate things about me being a creep and trying to prey on women in the bathroom. I told him I would rather leave than spend the time in the company of people like him. As we left, I observed him telling his cronies that I was friends with the guy he kicked out yesterday. He seemed really proud about that. Moral of the story, look out for creepy ponytail boy.

Always a good time here. Plenty of beer and booze choices. Friendly staff– they will kick you out if you’re unruly, which I like of course. Overall a place we really like going.

THE hipster grad student bar in Bloomington. The lighting is low, the music kinda loud, and the drinks kinda over priced. Everything’s just about right apparently for just about everyone. They do have a decent beer selection for such a small variety and the bartenders are pretty great. They also have a food truck inside now that smells amazing. If your a hipster or a grad student out on the town you will usually end up here at some point in the night.

Back in December. But here’s my only experience with this place. First stop of the night. Walked in with a group of 8 people. Packed. No seating so stood fairly close to bar. It was a birthday party. I finally got to order. And ordered 8 shots. Paid. Tipped well. Returned to group. Less than 2 minutes later I returned to bar to order a whiskey and coke. Was told I’ve had enough and refused service. We weren’t loud. Obnoxious in the slightest. Should not have been cut off after one shot. The first drink of the night.

Quirky place with quirky décor. The people here aren’t mean spirited, but they’re not quite jolly or friendly, either. However, what they do have that many hipster bars do not is that they truly welcome anyone. I am not a hipster, but I have never felt unwelcome here. Be careful, though, there’s a big cloud of cigarette smoke before you enter, but at least it’s not inside!

Great place for a beer or two… Dave has made this the place to be if you are not looking for the typical drunken college bar.

Good vibes all around. Not a ton to do here except have good conversation over a few drinks.

It has all the desperate effort of a hipster bar, but also all the screaming and spilling of a frat college bar. The bartenders all have ironic facial hair and/or dreadlocks, so I figured they would be happy to demonstrate some classic, old school cocktails. I asked for a Manhattan, and watched the vegan lumberjack behind the bar confidently pour equally from a bottle of vermouth and bourbon into a room temperature rocks glass and hand it to me. Spoiler alert: that isn’t how that drink goes. I saw a review that said something like«there are more people oustide smoking than inside drinking» which is a pretty funny way to sum this experience up. Everyone wants to flip through the jukebox, play around with the photo booth and skee ball, smoke outside, get gourmet 19-ingredient grilled cheese from the truck outside, do anything except drink. Which is odd, for a bar. It’s a place to watch scraggly young people wear attire from a bygone age, but not display any of the skills that would have been commonplace in people dressing like that in that era. Skills like dancing, conversation, correct cocktail preparation, manners. Go there if you want to see men wear their hair like Don Draper but drink like your little sister.

I have been to this bar once, smaller than I thought, there have a lot if people, so really hard to find a seat, and decoration isn’t very visible than the photos shown on Unilocal, but their drinks is fine^^

I like how quiet it can be in here. I also very much enjoy the Alpha King they have on tap. You can bring your beer out and leave it on the rail while you chain smoke with the other patrons. Good times.

Definitely a college bar. We ordered six drinks and the tab was $ 17! Perfect we hung out for about an hour and listened to the jukebox.

Hipsters, hipsters everywhere. Also there always seems to be more people outside than inside.

This is a bar. This is a very, very good old school new hip bar. This is a place you can get great drinks, craft beer and meet new people. Some of the best cocktails in town and 8 great craft beers. Cool atmosphere.

Not impressed. Not bad for a college town but not a craft cocktail destination. They have great spirits but no cocktail list or any creativity. They miss that extra needed to be more than just a place for mixed drinks.

Sweet bar for such a popular place. Cool atmosphere and lots of seating. It still gets really crowded and crazy but that’s only to be expected. I’ve had mixed experiences with the staff, though overall they’re quick and friendly. The beer selection is good, there’s always food carts outside and places to smoke and chat. A fun place for late-night drinks.

Brought me back to the Mission in SF. Hipster bar with more people smoking outside than drinking inside. It was very dark and quite empty on a Thursday. Nothing special going on, has skeeball in the back for a quarter a game but the score counter is messed up.

Crowd, ambience, prices, and service are all wonderful. But it is _WAY_too crowded on weekend nights. It’s actually kind of a deal breaker. Even if you’re lucky enough to find seats inside, you won’t be able to hear your companions no matter how loud you scream. I’ve actually stood outside here on winter nights because I was so desperate to have the most basic conversation with anyone. I want to try coming here really early(like 7 – 9:30pm) or on weeknights, because I bet it would be the shit. And I’ve heard they have a great Sunday brunch as well.

Good selection of drinks. Casual environment. Don’t expect to dance here or rage, this is a relaxed bar. Shuffleboard and ski ball are the highlights, along with tons of beer and mixed drink options. Considered a «hipster bar», but I don’t see anything wrong with that. Great bar

It’s quite exciting to see an unlikely hero pop up against the bar scene city down on Walnut and 7th and the Kilroys mega-bars. The Atlas doesn’t like to take no for an answer. Bad location? No way. It’s the perfect location for those looking to get away from the bro scene at Brothers and Kilroys. Credit card minimums? None. Tacky wall decorations? Nope, all you’ve got are classy framed maps, a stuffed deer, and a vast wall of assorted drinks. The people are good. The beer selection is good. There’s skeeball. Not sure what else you could be doing to wind down the night, but one thing’s for sure — I’ll be here.
