Pulled pork is great. BBQ sauces are excellent and the smokehouse beans will change your life.

Wow. Best bbq I’ve had since eating at Dyer’s in Amarillo. Brisket was great. Ribs were delicious. The cornbread was some of the best I’ve ever had. The potato salad could have been a bit better, but you don’t eat bbq for the sides. Highly recommend. Will be coming back for the smoked chicken. Only suggestion I have is to serve the sauces warm and the ribs with either a knife or precut.

Might only get four stars if we were in a town with lots of fantastic BBQ options. But might actually get 5. Ribs are amazing as is the pulled pork. Brisket is excellent. Chicken was a bit dry. Sides are also very good, particularly the slaw and the cornbread. An important addition to the culinary options in town. Ribs really are amazing.

The ½ slab of spare ribs is really quite amazing! Quite the best around here. No extra sauce needed!

Great food, generous portions, reasonably priced and the service was excellent! The whole chicken has great flavor, brisket is perfectly prepared and the homemade sauces were delicious. Recommend the horseradish pickles, as well. We were ordering at closing time, but they welcomed us to stay and sincerely said there was no hurry for us to leave. Will definitely be back!

I tried a half slab of their St. Louis ribs and I liked it very much. The ribs were covered with a light non-spicy rub that created a good thin bark. I usually like ribs smoked more so I can taste it(not too much) in the meat. The ribs here were not like that but they were still very good and tasty. Try them with the Sweet and tangy Sauce and you’ll love it. I can’t wait to try the other stuff on their menu. Enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at The Butcher’s Block Smokehouse. The menu wasn’t too big but there were four different meats offered, one being salmon, so there was a nice variety. I got the beef brisket sandwich and the smokehouse beans on the side. They were fantastic. I’m talking Flavortown, USA baby. The brisket was super tender and had a beautiful smoke ring. The beans were the best part of the meal. If you type in it brings you directly to a picture of these beans. I had a great time and I can’t wait to go back!

Excellent all around! The North Carolina style sauce is spot on. The spicy pickles are a must-try. Will absolutely be going back again before word gets out about how great the food is.

So if a highly rated butcher shop opened a restaurant specializing in meat, you’d go wouldn’t you? I mean, it has to be good, right? That is the Butcher’s Smokehouse. Right next to the Butcher’s Block there is a fabulous new find that takes the high quality meats that the Butcher’s Block already has, and they smoke them and serve them. As for the details, my wife and I visited on a Thursday night. There were a few diners as word is starting to get out, but it’s a soft open, so limited menu and they are still working on some things. But they have mastered the meats. I had the brisket sandwich. The brisket was piled high, thick cut and super tender. They left just the right amount of fat in it too. Very moist. It stands on its own, but there are sauces too if you like your BBQ with sauce. I tried two of the 4 barbecue sauce options. They offer a traditional, a sweet and tangy, and a couple of Carolina style sauces– mustard based and vinegar based I think… I didn’t try them this time but next time I will for sure. So far, the sweet and tangy is the winner. Be sure to get that. They also sell this on bottled in case you want to bring it home for your own barbecue. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich. Also piled high, moist and tender. She also agreed that the sweet and tangy was the way to go. So far they have just ribs, chicken salad, brisket and pulled pork on the menu. As for sides, cole slaw, greens, cornbread, and a couple of other choices. Drinks so far were just bottled Coke products, lemonade and tea. And if you’d like dessert, they do a brownie sundae and a root beer float. We saw both, but didn’t partake tonight. The float is made with Sprecher’s Root Beer, so I already have a good vibe about it. Prices are reasonable. A sandwich, side and soft drink will hit in the $ 10-$ 12 range, or you can order meats by the half pound. The manager indicated that over the coming weeks they will add other meat choices to the menu– but again, with the reputation that the Butcher Block has(4.5 Unilocal stars) whatever they cook has to be good. My experience shows that they know how to cook it. So this will be a winner for sure. The seating is limited, so I can see in the future, that coming at a peak time there may not be anywhere to sit. So go now, before the line is out the door and there’s no place to sit. It won’t be long until the word gets out. See you there!

Soft opening, by the same people as the Butcher’s Block
