Kudos to Kristen, Wes, Ron and entire hotel staff — especially housekeeping. They all did very well to find us a comfortable room when the original didn’t suffice. Very professional and helpful. Thanks.

I went all out on this trip and reserved the room with the private pool. I paid a premium price to do so. Yes, it was nice to go downstairs to our own private pool, but not worth the rate for the room. The pool is roughly 20×7 and big enough to float around, but no laps. The room is very spacious. The furniture is comfortable. The king bed was ok, not great. Other than several stains in the carpet, the room was clean for the most part. The dated wall paper, the shower tile in need of grout repair and the acoustic ceiling tile really give the room a «Motel 6» ambience. Also, the balcony looks at the roof of the nearby building. The microwave oven has to be unplugged in order to use the small coffee maker, I unplugged the bedroom clock the first night as it alarmed at will and was too difficult to set the time. I also ended up logging in to the neighboring property’s wifi to get decent service. The included breakfast has no variation from one day to the next. It was ok at best. We were able to walk to everything in BR from our room. It was a quiet room from the other guests. The private pool is fun. I have stayed in many places in BR. This was the most expensive of all. We overpaid!

I stayed here for one night back in May for my cousin’s bachelorette party. She chose the location because it is within walking distance to all of the bars, pubs and restaurants in downtown Blowing Rock. VERYCONVENIENT. We got a room with 2 queen beds for $ 85 for the night. Very reasonable. The room was very clean. There was a sofa in the room but it was not a sleeper. Sleep quality was great. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Our room was right off the lobby and had a sliding door that connected to the back shared patio. It was very nice. It was a Thursday night so not many people there at all. If there was a loud crowd it was us, being the bachelorette party and all. They had a free hot breakfast buffet in the morning that was great. Biscuits, gravy, waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, fruit, coffee and just. Great quality. My only complaints: No mini-fridge in the room. They did have vending machines on the second floor but only for SODA. No bottled water. After a night out on the town and wanting some water — only soda options was no bueno for the morning after. I would definitely come back. Make sure your room isn’t near any bachelorette parties! I did learn that the hotel recently updated most of their mattresses(at least in the main building) so that was a plus.

The outside is cute, the rooms are large and it’s very close to restaurants and shopping but for the price the beds are very cheap and uncomfortable(like motel 6 beds) at Hilton prices. We were in a room by the stair case and it was loud all night. I felt like I could hear people moving and talking from all over the hotel. That mixed with the beds made for a pretty bad night of sleep.

Here for conference– great location, decent faculties, fun ducks — horrifically BAD Internet– looks like they fixed while we were here. But only really good in the middle of main building

I stayed there a few times as a guest, most importantly the night before my wedding. I got this amazing suite — large area, big bedroom, separate lounge room — but the downstairs had its own private pool. Not much that is cooler than a last bachelor night with the groomsmen in our own private pool till 3am. I also rented a block of rooms that filled out with our guests, all of whom were very happy at Meadowbrook. It’s a pretty area, the duck pond is nice, the gazebo and main entrance are all very pretty, and the staff is very nice and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast is better than most, with eggs, fruit and bagels and quite a few options. As mentioned the Inn is within walking distance from the main strip, so you can go shopping at the music store or hat store or ice cream/cookie place, or visit the highly recommended Six Pence pub, without getting in the car. But what makes Meadowbrook truly above and beyond, to me, was my rehearsal dinner. We worked with their staff over the months to perfectly plan the dinner, and they came through in a big way — Erin went out of her way to ensure things were perfect. Having 50 satisfied guests, from a different culture — accommodating my last minute musician booking — including our special drinks from the bar — and going above and beyond to get our special, non-standard delicacies… the serving staff led by Ani was tremendous too. Meadowbrook isn’t just a hotel — it’s a great place to hold a conference or special event such as a rehearsal dinner. The staff will go above and beyond — at times, fighting with my main venue, I was tempted to hold the entire wedding at Meadowbrook because of how great they were. A big thanks.

Traveling to the mountains isn’t like anywhere else. Most of the buildings are older, they’ve sustained inclement weather and tons of tourists yearly. Most likely you won’t find anywhere that isn’t run down a touch. But that is the charm that is this area. The people aren’t run down at all :) This is such a wonderful tight-knit community with a very high percentage of happy and hard workers. That being said, we were very happy at the Meadowbrook Inn. I had read reviews before I placed the reservation, and I really wanted to see for myself, especially considering the location. It is tucked away a couple blocks from the shopping at Main Street and it was perfect for us to make our way back and forth shopping and eating and what-not. The most important factors for us: It was a safe place Very clean Very quiet Our car was safe It was walking distance to eating/shopping The staff was helpful The jacuzzi tub in our room was big and nice. We didn’t use the pool, and the restaurant was closed for two weddings, but that forced us to go out and explore and we’re glad we did. We’d absolutely go back :)

It’s not that great but not that bad. Pool was nice but hottub needed cleaning. Room was average. Breakfast not great but ok for a quick meal before a day of snowskiing. Convenient to the shops nearby. Our room keys kept failing but the staff was always very helpful. Movies for the kids were playing on some days. Very very friendly staff.

Meadowbrook… Well, it is in a convenient location if you are staying in Blowing Rock and you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants. However… upon checking in, due to construction noise, we were«upgraded» from a V.I.P. Suite to an «Executive«Suite…the next building over. Oh, and by the way… the indoor pool(the reason we booked this hotel, the carrot that was dangled in front of my children during a 5 hr. car trip) is closed. Thanks for the heads up Management. Okay kids, we are flexible, we’ll recover. It’s fine. Really. Then we opened the door to the suite. It smelled like a mixture of scented Raid ant spray and old lady. The décor was something from the Family Feud set circa 1982. The French doors opening to the porch not only wouldn’t stay locked, they also wouldn’t stay shut. The bedroom, clad with marbled cream and floral striped wallpaper, looked out into the building’s hallway. The tv was snowy, the fireplace was hooked up to a light switch… classy. The pullout sofa bed had a super squishy mattress… but then, so did the Master, so it was a draw. The bathroom’s 7′ drop tile ceiling with no windows or exhaust fan was interesting. Against my better judgment I decided to use the Jacuzzi. The motor was so loud that I screamed and my husband thought the construction was jack-hammering outside of our door. When I turned it off, tile had loosened and was hanging off the bathroom wall. Luckily we did not intend on spending much time at the hotel. The children loved the duck pond, and I guess that counts for something.
