I’m usually very picky when it comes to tacos because a lot of restaurants leave so much fat in them. My husband ate there and brought home some steak tacos for me and the kids and since it was a new spot I was a little hesitant. One bite and I’m hooked and best of all didn’t bite into no fat, can’t wait to go and order more. Out in the south suburbs we don’t have much of a selection for good Mexican food and this place definitely is one of the places.

Yummy tostadas, REAL Cokes. Great place for a quick bite, reasonable prices. Friendly service.

I love coming here for cheap quick tacos, all under $ 2, so far I’ve gotten shrimp, fish, tripe and chorizo, and have enjoyed all of them, ive yet to disappointed and will likely be back in the future

Worst burrito I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered the«baby pork» burrito for 4.99 and it was full of fat, bones and cilantro stems. I will never go here ever again.

Its really 2.5 stars, not 3. I understand that restaurants must adjust to stay in business but there have been several changes in a shirt time frame that make me want to consider another Blue Island option for tacos. Since my last post these are some of the changes: — 25% increase on taco prices on their special days(from $ 1 to 1.25/ea) — eliminated free chips/salsa when dining in. It was free with a $ 5 purchase but now it’s $ 2.50 for the chips salsa. That’s a big one for me at a Mexican restaurant. — started charging for avocado sauce, $ 0.50 per small container. — now only cash is accepted Still like the food but the overall experience is not as appealing since the cost has risen and now being charged for everything.

Stopped in for a torta, got a 4 dollar hot mess. Only took a few minutes for my order to come out, but I wish they spent more time on it. Bread was hard, milanesa tasted old and stale, with a cardboard consistency. The beans(for some reason) seemed to be the main ingredient. Very little staple ingredients too; lettuce, tomato, and/or mayonnaise were almost non-existant. A nice blend of authentic flavor and fresh ingredients is what I look for in my tortas… This one had neither…

EWWWW! I placed my order and in the mean time I was looking at the various Mexican candies on the counter. I was about to purchase some candy when all of a sudden a huge roach crawled out of the box. What freaked me out was that the girl at the register didn’t look surprised and quietly carried the box to the back to kill or get rid of the roach. I quickly cancelled my order and I will never return again! No me gusta tacos de cucarachas!
