After a horrible experience at the bland Belgian Waffle House on day 1 of our week vacation in Lake Arrowhead, we were craving a great breakfast. We found it at Bill’s Villager. So good we ended up going again the next day. Food was awesome and the staff couldn’t be nicer. Thanks guys!

This is a great, old fashioned coffee shop. Love their breakfast. I recommend them highly!

Great food and service, the breakfast kicker was delicious and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. Clean and sanitary restrooms were immediately recognizable, and looked freshly remodeled. The busers and servers all had great attitudes and the locals all seemed really friendly. I definitely recommend this place if your looking for a nice old town classic dinner with good service and hospitality!

Stopped off in Blue Jay on my way up the mountain. Was in the mood for a juicy cheeseburger and salad, thought this place would be a good fit since all the locals go there. But, the prices are pretty outrageous. Cheeseburger was over $ 12.00 and the salad bar which only had a few fixings and very small was a whopping $ 9.00. So I settled into the booth in the back and ordered a short stack of pancakes. Two pancakes almost covered the plate with butter and honey and a cup of hot tea. The pancakes were pretty darn good. Good place for breakfast as the prices are reasonable anything else very overpriced. They do serve breakfast on weekdays till 2:30pm. If you are in a rush and want some good inexpensive pancakes this would be a good fit, nothing to write home about. Pancakes are pancakes.

I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve had great food and service every time! Though I haven’t been here for a year or so… I just came today and it’s newly renovated! Great service and food as usual!

Absolutely absurdly high prices. A breakfast here costs more than one at Venice Beach where I live. $ 13.99 for a basic omelette. On top of that it was very hot inside the restaurant — not sure if they don’t have an air conditioner of just choose not to use it but it was really hot and it was not a particularly hot day. The wait is very long to get seated so lots of people little it here. I have to say however, they are very generous about their internet.

The food was really good! Stopped in here for breakfast. I had the chili verde omelette which was fantastic! My hubby had the breakfast croissant which was also very good. Huge portions and prices were decent. The only reason I didn’t rate it a 5 was the coffee wasn’t great and it took a while to get our food. Definitely try this place out!

Portions are large, bathroom is fairly clean. Its a bit pricier than your other standard american traditional spots, but the quality is worth it. I had their gorilla burger, and let me just say that burger is the largest burger I’ve ever had. So big I had to eat it in halves cause I could not do a whole bite. Ambiance is pretty nice, and the staff are nice. So if your driving through to big bear, come check it out. I certainly will come back.

Pretty standard place. Food was good, and it wasn’t that busy during the middle of the week at lunchtime. Would love to go back and try some more of the food.

Sorry, but my food was just average. I got their signature Villager Burger, and that was one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had, just not satisfying peace of food. Coleslaw on the said was plain and not enjoyable at all. The only good thing I got was lobster bisque soup. I was with my buddy and he got ribs and they looked good to me, and he said taste was delicious as well, so maybe I just got wrong item on the menu, but I can’t write reviews based on my buddy’s experience.

Two of us are eating breakfast here at this moment. The restaurant is very clean. The prices are very high for breakfast. Apparently the owner is very cheap with regards to the amount of food he is going to serve even with those high prices. $ 7.39 for one egg hashbrowns, bacon and toast. Do you think possibly you could say two eggs; would it kill you? The waitress paid zero attention to how we ordered the food. Hashbrowns were not brown, The scrambled eggs were runny. Even though we specifically requested the opposite. She apparently does not check her order after the cook is finished. Nor does he apparently read her ticket. The waitress did write down specifically what we requested. When she dropped off the food she simply turned around and walked off to clean tables. She did not wait even an instant to see whether or not the food was accurate. We needed to ask a different person to take back the eggs for remediation. I ate the hashbrowns as they were; I was so hungry; they were very mediocre, barely brown, zero seasoning and limp. As a restaurant setting high prices they should at least follow through on their end and provide quality food, cooked the way the customer requests it and provide a sufficient quantity that doesn’t scream being cheap.

One of the worst service experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. TL;DR: horrible service food not so great pass on this place! First off, they had a sign saying wait to be seated. I wrote my name on the list they had under the sign. I waited almost 10 minutes for a hostess to come check the list. There were PLENTY of tables open. I eventually just walked up to some of the workers playing around behind the counter. They sat my party of 2, at the bar, right in front of the kitchen; which is fine. We placed our simple orders. A hamburger w/o onions and a cheeseburger w/o onions and sauce. 30 minutes later, after a party of 3 that ordered after us got their food, we asked about the status of our order. The waitress informed us she forgot to put in our order and it would be a few minutes longer. Forgot to mention, 10 minutes prior she told us our order was almost up. Fast forward 20 minutes, we finally get our food and the order was wrong, they put sauce on both the burgers. When we told the server about this error, she accused us of lying about asking for the cheeseburger without sauce. We asked for our food to go and left. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to this establishment anytime soon.

Shhh! Don’t tell anyone about Blue Jay’s little secret. I loved being able to sit right down without waiting on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. Delicious comfort food! If you want to avoid the crowds at Arrowhead Villiage, come to Blue Jay. Our waitress was super friendly. This is kid friendly little diner with fresh wholesome food. The fried chicken was super crispy and not too heavy. They mash their own potatoes, and the salad bar was fresh with a lot of variety. The chicken fried steak was crispy and flavorful. Try the carrot cake for dessert. It melts in your mouth. We did have to ask for rolls, but we did catch them just a little before closing.

Flavorless, premade slab of a burger. Awful! Takeout order wrong — AGAIN. No attention to detail! Don’t bother! There are plenty of other places!

We ventured from our lodge in Lake Arrowhead to find a reasonable priced hamburger. We could get McDonald’s any where and face it, they have regular hamburgers. We discovered Bills via Unilocal and decided to give it a try. It has a cozy casual atmosphere and we were allowed to sit at any available table. The busser, Michael promptly greeted us. He remembered us from the Village that morning. He was extremely attentive and very polite. We were hungry and more than the hamburgers looked good. He confirmed one of our choices, the Lumberjack was one of his favorites. When our server arrived, I was debating between the Chili Size or the Chicken Fried Steak. Thee server stated the Country Fried Steak was real good, and was truly genuine. Rhonda ordered the Lumberjack(a kicked up Beef Dip made with Tri Tip) and I went with the Chicken Fried Steak. Neither one of us were disappointed. The tri tip was tender and tasty, the pepper jack cheese added a nice flavor and a small kick. I have to say it was one of the BEST Chicken Fried Steaks I ever had. I even told our server. The coating had the best crunch and texture, even covered with gravy. The mashed potato were real, not boxed. The only regret we had was not saving room for dessert(which we saw at other tables). We were both extremely satisfied and happy we ventured the whole mile from our lodge. It is definitely a worth while stop.

We’re staying in Twin Peaks over the busy Labor Day weekend and found Bill’s while we were out exploring. Bill’s was a solid choice for breakfast. The portions were huge and the service was prompt and friendly. This was a good find in this tiny resort town.
