I thoroughly enjoy, Legend of Asia. I REALLY started to enjoy it a few years ago when I finally tried sushi and realized how awesome it is. Legend of Asia is obviously buffet sushi, but it still tastes good nonetheless. Can you get better sushi elsewhere? Of course, but I recommend if you are on the fence about trying sushi, go to a place like this where you won’t get stuck with an entire roll you may never eat if you don’t like it. I have friends who consider themselves sushi experts that say the sushi here is decent. Lots of choices and varieties here to try. The other side is good as well and has other Chinese food staples like: Generals Chicken, sesame chicken, crab rangoon, egg rolls, lo mein, etc. Again, as far as buffet food goes this is one of my favorites. There are better Chinese restaurants out there, but for the price here it is a quality option. Not to mention, this place is GIGANTIC! Always a place to sit even if you come in at a busy time of day. My mom and I have made this a tradition the last two Christmas Day’s to eat here later in the evening after we eat at our family’s house much earlier in the day. I have the unfortunate luck of having a family that isn’t the best in the kitchen, so I am usually starving in the evening after family dinners. This place is packed to the brim on Christmas, but the staff seems to keep up very well with the demand.

The reviews were right on with this buffet. I could tell it was a popular spot as soon as I pulled in the parking lot, there was a lot of cars. There was a lot of people inside but we were sitter within minutes. Very clean inside, nice décor, and all of the staff was friendly and kept everything stocked and clean. Food was great and would totally go back. It is a 20 min drive from my house, but well worth it.

For an all you can eat the food is not bad, they have a pretty good selection. I have been to better which is why I only have them 4 stars.

This is always good. Lots of food and the price is extremely reasonable… The food is generally fresh enough and the taste is always good. The crab Rangoon is for real. Lots of non-meat options and the sushi and salmon tastes great!

The food was very good compared to other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the area. The waitress was horrible. She said one word ‘drink?’, came back and put the drinks on the table, threw the straws at the table, and walked away. She might have also said ‘menu’, but I’m not sure. We were there for the buffet so it didn’t matter. She never came back to refill our water or ask about anything. We had to wait a while to get our bill because she didn’t pay any attention to us at all.

I love this place. I don’t know why maybe it’s the sushi. It’s a dodgy Chinese buffet with all you can eat sushi. It’s nothing special but out by Lake Lotawana there aren’t many options for food.

Too many variety kind of dishes. Overwhelming & it is hard not to over eat & have a towed truck to towed you home! The quality of the food is a bit over average. Will try again next time with a definite target rather than wondering around trying everything that you see!

If you’re looking for a buffet to satisfy all pallets, this is the one! The buffet has that WOW factor as you walk in the door. Adult dinner buffets are only $ 13.50 which includes all you an eat Chinese buffet and a very impressive sushi buffet. The atmosphere is great and the staff isn’t rude. This is our new place to eat now when we visit Kamsas City!

Lol not the best place for a buffet but ok I guess. Herd all the fuss… It didn’t live up to the hype. Really… C’mon folks… They said 25 different kinds of sushi? Really got there and all there was, was only 5. And those 5 was the same thing wrapped differently. I mean California roll, and then inside out California roll. Really??? Guess they got everyone fooled. And then a California roll with masago. Wow not impress at all. You can’t call yourself the Legend Of Asia if you don’t offer crab legs for dinner. Kinda sucks of you go there and they seat everyone in the conference room. I mean there’s tons of open seats outside in the general seating. No one wants to be sitting back to back to each other especially when you don’t know that person. The food it a little better than your average Chinese buffet. But honestly CHINAONE, JOYWONK, GOLDENBUFFET is still a lot better. Ever want to know if the food is good or better than anywhere else? Just look around if it’s not pack then the food sucks. The stir fried noodles or the Lo mien taste like cooked in old oil. Seriously, coming from a buffet lover… Not that good. JOYWONK is always busy and there’s times when you need to wait like 30mins to eat. That clearly sends a message. Got there at 7:45pm and at 8pm they already took the condiments away from the table cos he needed to fill it up. Geeze son hold on for a minute there. And then at 8:30pm they already tipped the both tables to tell everyone to hurry the hell up and eat. Lol. And they actually close at 10pm on Sunday’s. Reminds me of ‘Don’t be a menace in L.A. While drinking your gin and juice.’ It’s like,“buy now, get out!“ Lol the food only taste good if you don’t know what good food taste like. It only looks good cos they spaced out the hot trays. So you think there’s a lot of it. Nice marketing strategy, walk a little further for the deep fried shrimp from the fried rice lol. Go there if you’re starving, don’t go there if you want good food. Like any other Chinese buffet you’re gonna get hungry after two hours anyways. Yes the food’s fresh but way too salty. Will… Never gonna go there again. Even though they’re the only place that offer octopus.

This is my favorite Chinese buffet in the metro. The service is great, and the food is delicious and fresh. This is one of very few Chinese buffets I trust with sushi. As usual with a Chinese buffet, nothing tastes as great as it would if you ordered it from a menu at a traditional restaurant, but everything tastes as good as I’ve ever had at a buffet. The selection is huge, and they manage to keep it refreshed very rapidly to keep everything fresh, both in peak hours and slow times. If you like Chinese buffets, you will not be disappointed.

I gave this three stars because I feel like they could have more. But overall it was good and your average Chinese buffet.

One of the better Chinese Buffets around. Food is good, sushi is excellent, drinks are included in price. Staff is friendly, place is clean. If you do go here, use cash! I’ve had problems with fraudulent credit card charges after eating at this place!

I enjoy this resturant. I think the food is good, but is usual buffet food. The wait staff has always been friendly. Food has been plentiful, but I haven’t been in the late evening.

The sushi was delightful. And they had a great variety of different options like dumplings and miss soup! The selection was fresh and high quality. The inventory of Wasabi was epic! The servers could use a little more personality though. Go hungry and leave full.

I need to remember to not go on weekday evenings. The sushi selection sucks, and the chefs are surly. And this was three hours before closing! For the few different seafood items out on the hot tables for dinner service, it’s not worth the additional $ 4. Saturday lunch ONLY!

*DISCLAIMER-WEARSTRETCHYPANTSTOVISIT* This is a buffet of all buffets. You want sushi, mongolian, chinese, salad, dessert… you can get it here. If you can go here and leave not filling incredibly full, you are doing it wrong. There are tons of tables, tons of options, and the servers are ready to get those drinks refilled. The food quality is something that I’ve found that most buffets lack, but not this place. This place actually has quality meats and excellent food. This is by far, the best buffet I’ve ever been too.

Usually, Asian chinese buffet restaurants aren’t my thing. Also, this place is practically on the other side of the KC metro. However, a coworker told me that this place has a really good sushi buffet so I had to try it. I got to say, I am impressed with it especially their nigiri options. They had the popular salmon, eel, and tuna choices, but they also had octopus, red snapper, and mackerel. There were probably spicy tuna, eel, volcano, salmon skin rolls, but I could be confusing them with some other sushi place I’ve been to. Once they put all those green, red, and eel sauces on those crazy deep fried rolls, they all kind of look the same. Oh, they also had the typical americanized chinese buffet and mongolian grill. There are more seafood dishes than I’ve seen in other places which is always a plus. Also, the chicken wings and stuffed mushrooms aren’t bad. Bottom line, the chinese buffet is ok, but I would come in just to have the sushi.

Yes, I am a Unilocal Elite… and I am unapologetic about being a huge fan of Legend of Asia. 1) Sushi– wide variety of choices, they put times on sushi… so you know it’s fresh. They change the utensils, and ice frequently. Lots of condiments/sauces. 2) There is a Mongolian Grill 3) Dim Sum bar 4) Fresh fruit, salads, noodles, rice, seafood, dessert bar, ice cream etc. 5) The price is crazy good-$ 8.50 for lunch, which includes a fountain drink. 6) If you check in on the Unilocal app there is a coupon for 10% off the price your meal. 7) Fast, friendly service. 8) The very best green beans ever in an Asian restaurant. I am never a fan of buffets… till now! Well! Shut my ever loving Foodie mouth!
