We arrived just as the Early Bird Special ended — 5:45p. After we asked for it our server said we were probably too late but would check with the manager. He came over and was very pleasant and said yes he’d get the special menus for us. He checked on us several times during the evening. Our server, Brooke, was very pleasant. We had a wonderful evening with our dear friends. We never know another person’s story — our friend is battling cancer — and we didn’t know if she could make it or even taste the food and therefore it took them longer than anticipated to join us. We visited quite some time and again we were told the table was ours. No rush, wonderful place. I had the Italian meatloaf and the green beans were done to perfection. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Tried Red Fish during restaurant week(1⁄29) and had a lovely time. Really enjoyed my dinner and will go back again. Only gripes were that we did not sit down to silver wear/napkin. I asked the server but never got it. Not a biggie, but the empty table beside us had it so not sure why server didn’t just swipe from there. I’m not a prima donna, I had lime juice on my hands from my cocktail and needed a napkin. 2) I had the scallops with lobster Mac n cheese with asparagus. I loathe asparagus so asked for green beans instead. Server said ‘no subs’ since restaurant week so I asked for a side. I was a bit surprised since green beans are way cheaper than asparagus(but whatever, I wanted them) and then a bit shocked to see the $ 6 charge for my side of them. That’s a bit steep, they weren’t magic beans. I think they were a bit swamped but food was great, service was friendly, and the atmosphere was upscale and cozy.

Excellence. That is all that needs to be said. Service, quality, selection, price and atmosphere are all excellent. From the time you walk in you can feel that this place is special. The walls are covered with a large selection of wines, the bar is far off to the side and no TV. The early bird special is excellent and 7 days a week. Wine, soup or salad, and entrée all for less than $ 40 plus tip. Ribs, crab, and fish you can’t go wrong.

So this isn’t a burger joint by any means, but wow, theirs are PHENOMENAL. The patties are huge, and the bacon is so thick and delicious, my boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed. We ordered 2 pimento burgers to-go and could not have been more pleased. Our medium burgers came out perfectly medium!!! The fries that came with were also wonderful. We will be back to dine in the restaurant and try more food.

Great food. Had the salmon and wife had the sirloin. Nice ambiance. Nice outdoor seating area with a fireplace. Huge selection of wine in stock. Complimentary glass of wine at early bird dinner. Huge bonus! Poor hostess. The one working the night I went(December 26) had atrocious red lipstick on and she didn’t even break a smile coming or going. I’d fire her if I owned the place for not warmly welcoming my customers and not thanking them as they left.

Super tasty! Their wine selection is very large, and they have a lot of options for people who are gluten free. Waitstaff was great as well; would definitely recommend!

With all the restaurants in the area you would think that competition would push more of them to excellence. Red Fish is a rare and excellent find in Bluffton. Friends invited us to join them for early dining this week and what a Surprise! Even though we were early diners, we were treated like big spenders. We were served wine and bread so good we needed another basket. My wife had the steak and I had the shrimp and grits. We both had the V8 salad. The shrimp and grits were the best I have tasted; and my wife loved her steak. It was done exactly the way she likes it. We both agreed it was a wonderful value with plenty to eat. The service was attentive and spot-on. We will return to Red Fish regularly. You Must Try It!

We are in town for a wedding and found this great restaurant on Unilocal. My husband and I split the V-8 salad which was full of veggies and perfect. For lunch my husband had a Burger and truffle fries and I had the Red Fish roll with lobster and shrimp. The wine list is amazing. Everything we like from Groth, Frank Family, Caymus and the list goes on. Brandon was an excellent waiter. Would highly recommend.

I’ve been to dinner at Red Fish twice now and both times I got the same thing. I know, not very adventurous. Red Fish originated on Hilton Head Island and the owner’s recently opened this one in the past year in Bluffton. The décor is simple yet modern with an open floor plan. Pricing is a little expensive, but worth it if you want a good meal out. The scallops with asparagus and lobster macaroni is delish. So much so that I couldn’t order anything else when I visited for the second time. My boyfriend enjoyed the Grouper special and it was great as well. Next time, I’ll try to order something else to try other items. Service is always friendly and you can tell they appreciate the locals that come out to support the business. This is a go-to restaurant when you want something more than your normal chain. I love their variety of seafood dishes and they also have a pretty extensive wine menu.

Emily was a excellent server and the early dinner special is a great price. I got a steak with mashed potatoes and loved it. Even their bread was excellent. I loved the atmosphere and appreciated noting the manager walking around checking on the tables to ensure they were doing well. I will definitely be back.

A welcome addition to Bluffton! The décor is lovely, and as a wine drinker I appreciated sitting amongst the many bottles! The food was superb, starting with the bread and fresh herb butter. I rarely ask for more bread, but we finished a whole second basket; SOSOGOOD! We also had a feature salad which was a very good portion size, made with exceptionally fresh ingredients. The mahi mahi, sea bass and shrimp and grit entrees were excellent; portion size was large, fishes cooked perfectly and the grits were fabulous! Similarly, the dessert special, a lemon pie was perfection: the exact right balance of tart and sweet. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is the restaurant temperature; it was way too warm for me. We ate at two Bluffton restaurants this past weekend, and this was without question the better of the two. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Dinner tonight was great. We had the sword fish special and scallops which were both great. We sat at the bar and had great service. We have eaten here 4 or 5 times and never been disappointed. Will definitely be back

This place is very nice and modern. They did very nice renovation, very big selection of wine. but the service is not so good. And it’s start from there manager. He is very impolite and don’t care about clients. The dish of my friends was very over salted and he did not do anything about. Didn’t not take it back or apologize about. When we was ordering wine he just sit at our table and his recommendation about wine was unprofessional. I had scallops and lobster macaroni and cheese. scallops was undercooked but lobster macaroni and cheese was unbelievable good. This place have many potential but they need to do many changes. I can see owner invest so much money in this place and its need to adjust to perfection. Place is nice food have a potential, just need to change the management and make food to the perfection and this will be a very good restaurant.

Seemed very overpriced for something I could have easily made myself and the spinach under my salmon was very bitter. Two of the salmon dishes the naked and the spiced version are the exact same dish with just some sprinkling on top and yet they charge you a couple bucks more. The rice they give you is not very appetizing and the walnuts don’t compliment the dish well. Service was slow but we went when there was a bunch of people there.

This is a hidden gem in the back of Bluffton. As a small town location with resort quality atmosphere and food, we completely enjoyed our meal. There is an extensive wine list with a full bar. The menu ranges from steaks to seafood with yummy desserts. I had the salmon — it was perfectly cooked with plenty of flavor. My husband had the scallops and lobster mac-n-cheese. The chocolate gnash and crème brûlée were very good as well. This is a great place for a birthday or anniversary dinner — as well as a night out with friends.

Went there last week for an early bird special. I had the $ 18.95 special, with black bean soup, sirloin steak, horseradish mashed potatoes and veggies. The soup was a large serving, but fairly tasteless. Just a little bay leaf. Please– add some onion and green pepper, cumin, and garnish. This area is known for«is it spicy? I can’t eat spicy!» senior citizen customers so maybe that has scared the chefs off. Hubby has salmon which was nicely cooked. Also had a very tasty crab dip– small serving but then crab is expensive. Included a very nice glass of wine.

From what I understand, this is a relatively new location for Red Fish… I’ve also been told the building used to be a post office… Aside from maybe the parking lot itself, it’s pretty hard to tell. The building has nice trellises outside and a nice patio area with a nice fireplace and space heaters. Inside, they have done a great job hiding any trace of the post office… Modern /industrial look with a touch of class, lots of wine. Great job, looks great! I started the journey with the double dirty martini… Opted out for the optional sweet Italian vermouth… not sure it was the right decision or not, but I wasn’t thrilled with the martini; It was just okay. However, that’s where mediocre ended… We split the goat cheese salad, plenty to split and very tasty! For my entre, I had the grilled sea bass… It was awesome, it was served over udon noodles with seaweed salad on the side. I really enjoyed it… At the table, we had two that had the Scottish salmon and one that had the crab cakes… All were very pleased. Red Fish has nice wine and drink selection too. All in all, a great choice for dinner!

This is the new Bluffton location of the Hilton Head restaurant Red Fish. The interior is nicely decorated with good atmosphere. The menu is filled with flourishes that make everything sound great. The cocktails we had left something to be desired — too much liquor and not enough flavor. Mine was the Southern Cross — a vodka, iced tea, and pear drink. Girlfriend had the mojito, her go-to drink which she said was just ok here. My appetizer was the fried goat cheese salad which was awesome. For an entrée I had the Latin ribs which were good but not spectacular. Gf had the shrimp and crab cake burger which she didn’t really care for. Another companion had the Kansas City strip which I tasted and really liked but was too heavily seasoned for his tastes and wasn’t cooked Pittsburgh style as he ordered. Service wasn’t great. Wasn’t that busy and there were long delays for things other than food/drinks, like water refilling. Also, the pitcher one of the staff was using to refill our glasses ran out of water and he never came back to refill the rest of our glasses without me waving him over. All in all, decent food but the food and service don’t live up to the menu or atmosphere.
