What an amazing little shop! The owner/chef is very nice and we had a great time eating pastries and talking soccer. A must try if you are in the area.

Delicious pastries… we got apple and blueberry tarts, and chocolate and strawberry muffins. The Chef was wonderful and came out to greet us. My kids loved the french accent and chef hat! Fantastic chef, cute outdoor dining area(or bar stools inside) and yummy bakery!

Incredibly delicious pastries, charismatic baker, and charming location. This is a must do if you are visiting Hilton Heads Island or Bluffton. I love every single thing that I have tried there, and my family makes a point to visit his bakery every year when we visit from Michigan. We feel so lucky to have found this amazing bakery! What to eat: EVERYTHING! But seriously, everything is delicious. My personal favorites are the chocolate chip cookies(not too sweet), the mixed fruit tarts, and the chocolate croissants. Make sure to check the hours and come earlier in the day because once he is out of pastries that’s it.

I was tagging along with family when we stopped into Midnight Bakers. This is where you need to go! Robert is quite the man. Charming and good conversation. Definitely puts a smile on your face. He let us sample his products as we stood there with lit up eyes over everything he had to offer. His showcase was small yet full of character. Peach tarts(amazing), scones and tons of other goodies. Chef Robert knows what he is doing! I will be coming here for sure when I visit the south again!

A Lovely French bakery! The pastries were probably the best you can find in bluffton. The first time I went there I did not know it’s cash only. The chef kindly insisted that I take the pastries home for now and bring back the money on another day, and he also told me not to bother coming back today just to make payment. Wonderful gentleman with a beautiful man, oh, and he offered me a piece of delicious sweet treat for free. God bless you!

Was introduced to this local treasure by the realtor showing my parent’s around the area. It is an absolute gem. Brought back hometown memories of the small town bakery I grew up with. Roberto is a french pastry chef with unmatched charisma. He invites you in and you feel like you are part of his kitchen. He uses the best ingredients to ensure great taste but he also limits sugar and gluten upon request … I tried the sugar free chocolate chocolate chip and I didn’t even miss it! This will be officially added to our local favorites!

It would give six stars, but it’s not possible here on Unilocal.Amazing pastries, coffee, customer service, etc. Don’t expect a Starbucks experience ! Chef Robert loves to talk to his costumers so prepare yourself for coffee, pastries and a good conversation!

Phenomenal pastries. The staff and service was fantastic and so friendly. I felt like i was back in France. We got the quiche, a sticky bun and a strawberry custard tarte. Everything was worth savoring every bite. I was only sad to see they had run out of almond croissants by the time I had gotten there at 2pm. So make sure to get there early to have a full selection of all their good things!

My wife and I were told by several people not to miss the Midnight Baker, a French bakery. It has been in Bluffton for four years but I had not heard of it. We went and spent time with the owner, a wonderful frenchman named Robert who was trained«from the bottom up» in France. He is a lovely gentleman. Now for the food, we had the blueberry tart which was light and flakey and heavenly. Also had a peach angel food type of cake which was sweet yet fruity and special. The last item was a pecan sweet roll which was just so good I wish I had a cup of coffee! The place reminded me of the little places you find on side streets in New York which turn out to be where you can find the best food! Definitely go and check out the Midnight Baker while in the Bluffton, Hilton Head area.

Terrible. I was so disappointed. Stale pastry, stale bread. When i took it back the idiot owner was mad at me for bringing it back. Stale baked goods, stale owner. Will never go back. Much better bakeries in Bluffton and Hilton Head. Stay away.

The BEST place to get blueberry muffins(or any muffin). We love going and talking with Chef Robert while picking up our favorite baked goods. He definitely treats you like a guest in his home. I wish we lived closer because we would be there daily(my waistline is probably glad we don’t live closer ;))

Robert, the owner, is a joy to talk with, and makes fabulous pastries, quiche and other baked goods. And he makes the BEST tasting coffee in town. Get here early though, because once the baked goods are gone he closes. Definitely a must eat place and he is expanding next door, so there is more to come. Merci, Robert!

I don’t like rich sweets, and I’m usually pretty picky about my pastries. I visited this French bakery with some friends, and I already can’t wait to go back. The pastries are not overly sweet and the freshness is overwhelming. The muffins are perfection. We also bought a variety of other pastries that were pretty amazing.

It’s not common to see someone interact with their customers the way this gentleman does. His face just lights up talking to you as he welcomes you into his bakery. We had traditional Madeleines and a warmed, golden brown cinnamon roll will pecan glaze. It was nothing short of amazing. If you like French culture and desserts, this is definitely the place to be. There is indoor and outdoor seating facing Old Town where you can overlook the beautiful shops. We will definitely be back soon!

I have nothing to add as the other reviews have said it all. Hands down the best bakery I have been to since I was in Europe(a long, long time ago). A MUSTSTOP if you are in Bluffton.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Midnight Baker is amazing. I have traveled to Paris and all thru France many times and I can honestly say this place is the Best French Bakery I have ever been to. I ended up taking 3 boxes of pastries home with me to share with friends and family. I am planning on going back tomorrow and taken the whole family.

So so so glad I stopped here! I’m on an adventure from charleston to Beaufort, Hunting State Park, and now Bluffton. This place is such a local gem! I started with the ham and cheese quiche and coffee. Delicious! The owner is from France and is super nice, chatty, and friendly. He made my morning! There are sooooooo many delicious items under the glass case that I want them all. Honestly this place is a fabulous find.
