Clarencedale Cake

When this bakery opened it was owned by a husband and wife who were not only amazing pastry chefs and decorators but had amazing people skills and treated their customers with respect. The quality was always 200% and I never minded paying their prices because the quality was more than worth it!
Since this shop was sold the product quality and customer service have gone down the drain. We’ve tried the cupcakes several times and they were dry and tasted day old. What is worse is they raised their prices!!! I do not mind paying for quality and service but when both are shoddy there is just no desire to go there again.

Great spot for cupcakes. Margarita and Mexican fried ice cream are my favorites, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad cupcake.

Best cupcakes I have ever had! The staff is very nice and welcoming. I always try something new and have never had a bad experience.

They were a pleasure to work with and had very affordable options.
We settled on a 4 layer round wedding cake in turquoise with silver pearlized scroll work on the top three layers and oversized rosette ruffles on the bottom layer, finished with silver dust. The cake topper was a beautiful edible coral flower.
Their fondant recipe was used and it was beautiful and smooth. The best part is that they made our cake in 4 flavors! Everyone complimented the beauty of the cake and said it was the most delicious they ever had!

Last year Clarencedale Cake donated cupcakes to the Toys For Tots Campaign. As a committee member, let me be the first to tell you… we were in cupcake heaven for days. The fact that they took time out to participate in the campaign was a blessing. Every single cupcake was as beautiful and delicious as you can imagine. To all the people involved with making these cupcakes… thank you. Thank you to all of Clarencedale Cake staff, owners. Your talent and kindness does not go unnoticed! I strongly encourage everyone to stop at either location-​Boardman or Sharon. You will not be disappointed.

We ordered the peanut butter cupcakes, and they were wonderful! Very moist even a couple of days later.
The woman who took my order was very friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely order again!

We have been making the pilgrimage to Boardman for cupcakes for a two years… I don’t know how I missed reviews them or posting pictures… I share them out of Facebook after each trip… oops!
This weekend we made a trip to Pittsburgh at the last minute… as in Friday afternoon we found out we could make the stars align and go… I posted a frantic message on their Facebook page at 10 pm asking for a mixed dozen… any flavors… and when we showed up just after 4 pm our dozen was waiting for us!
Their packaging and toppings have evolved over time… I LOVE the plastic containers they use now… soooooo much better than the cardboard boxes… although the stickers are always cute… they make the 50+ mile trip home with ease now!
Cheesecake is always tangy… margarita is always limey… brownie sundaes are just the right kind of gooey.
Having come from a cupcake crazy place like Seattle it’s great to have such a wonderful selection to our East… now if they would only open a store in Akron!!!
They post pictures of most of the selection of cupcakes every day… even if you can’t get to visit them in person… they are fun to see in my Facebook time line regularly!

Clarencedale cake is amazing!!! Love, love, there cupcakes. In fact I love them so much they also made my wedding cake. All my guests loved the cake and wanted seconds. The owners are extremely nice. You got to try these cupcakes!

I have been to many cupcake places (and my belly will second that) and I do have to say that being told about this place in Boardman, it is way way better than other big name cupcake places by Detroit Michigan. My wife and I got 8 cupcakes for our friends birthday, I wish I could remember all 8 that she got, but I do remember 3 of them. Margarita was the first and was very good, chocolate hazel nut was second and also very good, and the last one we shared was the grasshopper an it was amazing! It reminded me of an Andes mint, and I love those also. When we come back to town we are going to have to stop in and get more and try the other ones we missed out on.

Found Clarencedale at a Bridal Show, shortly after my fiancé and I moved to the area. They were handing out sample cupcakes, and they were amazing! We also found out this little bakery is just down the street from our new house, so we’ve been picking up cupcakes at least weekly ever since.
The cupcakes are delicious, and always inventive. We’re going to have them provide cupcakes and the cake for our wedding this fall!
Pros: Delicious cupcakes, lots of flavors! Always moist and fresh.
Cons: A touch pricey ($ 2 a cupcake), if you show up late in the day selection can be limited.

You won’t find a more delicious mint chocolate chip cake. We have ordered from Clarencedale for birthdays and christenings and have always received compliments – even from my hard-​to-​please «foodie» sister-​in-​law from the Big City. You may pay a bit more than average (locally) but the owners pride themselves on using premium ingredients, like REAL BUTTER. I say GO – and at least try a cupcake, okay?

My sister’s wedding cake came from this place unfortunately. When we saw what they delivered to the reception hall our mouths dropped open in pure dismay and shock. It was a christmas themed wedding and the cake was to be designed as presents. Well just let me tell you that it was the worst display of cake making I have ever seen. The ribbons around the layers were discolored, cracked and dry looking. The cake was not even and the colors of the icing were bleeding into the other areas. When we asked them to fix it before the reception the owner had a fit and gave extreme attitude to the Mother of the Bride. They are not trustworthy nor are they anything but mediocre bakers and decorators. If you want a beautiful and hassle free wedding cake or any cake, DO NOT GO HERE.

The cupcakes here are really good! They switch up the flavors from day to day, but the margarita cupcake is almost always available. The grasshopper is also a personal favorite. Do yourself a favor and get one!
The service here is always good as well, I have stopped in for cupcakes a number of times and the staff is always friendly, patient, and helpful. Unlike certain other bakeries down the street which shall remain nameless.
