I dropped off a dress on Friday for a wedding in a week. They told me it would be ready to pick up on Wednesday which was not a problem. I showed up Wednesday evening to pick up the dress and handed the lady my ticket. She looks at it and says«oh, is this it?» as she grabs a formal dress from a pile in a bin. Yep! It was my dress all piled in a ball. She said they had been out and she was given it this morning but wasn’t sure about cleaning it for some reason. No apology or anything. She said nothing as I grabbed my dress. I would never go back there. I don’t understand how they could possibly be top rated in Boca. So many other great places. I only went there as I relied on Unilocal as I usually do.

«A dry cleaner with a social conscience» is the most appropriate title for this review. I’ll get to the social conscience part at the end of the review. Be patient, boyz and girls! So, what’s important in a dry cleaners? To me, it’s 1)Quality of work 2) Service or Turn-Around Time 3) Location and 4) Cost. They satisfy me on all 4 factors. I found Mizner Cleaners by accident — it was recommended by MarshaMarshaMarsha as being less expensive than the dry cleaners we had been using for years. And, closer to our home in Old Floresta. 50% right. Certainly closer to home and while I like to save a buck, it was not less expensive, but not more than .25-.35 cents more a piece. It’s worth it. I was ready to check out a new dry cleaning place. While Den is in charge of dry cleaning in our household, I noticed he frequently was bringing back pieces, mainly some of my silk or linen shirts, cause stains had not come out. Well, that didn’t make sense to me. After all, isn’t that what the dry cleaner should be doing? Getting the stains out the first time? Am I too demanding? Klarra owns and operates this business with her husband. They are there. All the time. They work hard. Day in. Day out. 6AM. They have a smile on their face when you arrive. They engage you in conversation(if you want). They have been in this country for 37 years. From Peru. They work in unbelievably hot and humid conditions. It’s like 20 degrees hotter in that place than outside. Even with fans blowing. And Klarra smiles at you. And talks to you. She’s nice. Oh, she gets the stains out. All the time. The first time. And did I mention she has a smile on her face? All the time? Behind the counter and scattered in other places are books. Novels. Biographies. Art. Travel. Non fiction. Lots of books. So I ask Klarra«what’s with the books?» And she explains«There are homeless people in the area and they don’t have a library card so can’t use the library(which is a few blocks north of her location), and they stop here and borrow a book to read». «Do they return them?» I ask and she responds«all the time». Never thought homeless people read books. And, Klarra explains, «you don’t have to be homeless to borrow a book. Drop one off. Take one out.» It’s a free lending library. In a dry cleaner. In East Boca. People drive up in their Fancy Boca cars. And drop off books. Yeah, I like that! So, the next time I went in I dropped off six books. One was a photographic history of the development of Miami Beach. Klarra looked through it and broadly smiles«oh I remember that building… My son was born in Mt Sinai. 34 years ago. I have to show him.» I felt happy for her. And oh, did I mention she gets the stains out? And has a smile on her face? All the time? If you work in the area or drive by or stop for coffee nearby, bring Klarra your dry cleaning. She will get the stains out. Smile at you. And loan you a book.

Excellent cleaners, I don’t go anywhere else! They even do same-day service if you drop off early, great place.

Love, Love this cleaners. I know when I am running late for work I can grab anything I just picked up and put it on and run out the door without having to worry that on my way to work there is something wrong. I am shocked to see the bad reviews for this company. The family owned business has never disappointed me in the last eight years I have been going there. It was recommended as «The Best Dry Cleaners» by my Alterations company Norma’s. People who live in Boca are the rudest customers. If I were the owners I would be rude to you so you would not come back! However I know none of them would be rude. They are extremely professional. They even have a book swap box to switch out or borrow a book. What kind of people do that? Only genuinely nice people…5 Stars definitly!

THEOWNERSAREMAJOR A!#-HOLES! I AGREEWITHALLTHEREVIEWSEXCEPTTHEONEPROBABLYWRITTENBYTHEOWNERSNEPHEW … i dropped off a work shirt explaining to the owners that it would definitely have to be ready for the next day before 4 pm because i would be going into work… when i came in to pick it up… the owner was rude, and told me it wouldnt be ready for a half hour… i told him i would be late for work and that wouldn’t do… he told me to come back in 15 min… when i came back, he charged me double… when i asked why he told me in a rude manner that i rushed him… so, this is what’s interesting to me… in most business’s, when a service isn’t ready or not done properly, usually you get a discount or even for free… or atleast some sign of apology. well … not at boca mizner cleaners. you get a nasty attitude and pay double… not only will i never go back. but i will tell everyone at work never to bring there shirts there… hope that the few extra dollars they charged me will buy them an attitude adjustment!
