Enjoyable kosher steak house. Can be quite pricey for steaks. But there are lower price options. Everything is ala carte but comes with veg and fries or mashed. Loved dining on screened patio with heat lamps if needed. My kosher family were impressed! Me also although I am not! What I didn’t like is manager charging 7.00 for free kids meal of pasta because my dinner was a special, dtr had burger, anoth dtr had schnitzel, son had pergiot! There were 4 adults and 3 children and only 2 were free and manager was NOT nice when my dtr asked! If we knew this would not have ordered pasta for 1 yr old who could have shared with his mother… just sayin !!!

How the mighty have fallen… If you read my original review of this establishment, based on a superb previous experience here, you can tell that I really felt this could be the premier kosher restaurant in Boca. A place that consistently provides good food, good service, and an overall value. But my most recent experience here last night proves the classic case of eventually taking customers for granted for the sake of profit. Here are some of the glaring negatives that stood out: 1) The restaurant was considerably busy for a Monday night, so some slowness in service was to be expected I suppose, but this was off the charts. We saw multiple other tables that had arrived and ordered their food much later than us being served well before us. 2) Our waiter was indifferent at best and unprofessional at worst. He offered ridiculous excuses to simple inquires(«sorry, we ran out of bread»…seriously?), barely came to our table during the meal to check if we needed anything, grabbed the box of sweeteners from our table without asking and gave it to another table(he left us two packets of sugar for good measure), never offered basic things like condiments, etc. 3) We did lodge a complaint with the manager, who offered words of feigned sympathy but nothing to make up our poor experience. Useless. 4) Food portions have shrunk and quality has decreased. Grilled chicken was dry, and there were more vegetables than anything else on my plate. The $ 9.00 bowl of matzo ball soup was a joke, maybe one ladle-full worth? 5) The prices have gone up nearly 20%, which we know for a fact since we ordered the same dishes the last time we were here, and they were less pricey. The manager didn’t deny this but didn’t exactly go out of his way to confirm it either. Overall, this place has gone downhill. It will be a while before I return or recommend it to anyone.

In a nutshell: A Supreme Goat Rodeo First time we tried to eat here was a disaster. We were seated and waited 20 minutes before the waiter flew by to tell us he’ll be right with us. 5 minutes later he comes up to the table next to us, and takes the order of a couple seated 15 minutes after we sat down. We left. Tonight was the second and final time. We got to order about 10 – 15 minutes after being seated. The appetizer and entrée were served at the same time, about 35 minutes later. Unfortunately they were lukewarm at this point. If they food was served hot it would have been great. Alas, no joy here. Someday this might become a good restaurant. Right now, it is a slow agonizing goat rodeo.

Greens salad was great. Our waiter, Alain I think, was superb. Altogether a very positive experience. Definitely a place you can enjoy with your spouse and/or take a client. I wish it was closer to where I live or work.

This place became kosher around May and it’s absolutely amazing. I got the lamb in a pita, and ribs and both melted in my mouth. DELICIOUS! They have an outdoor bar where you can watch sports and serve alcohol as well. Highly recommended. They also have buy one get one half off(or something like that) appetizers.

Nice addition to the kosher dining options in Boca! Nice outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Worth a return trip! Started with appetizer of mushrooms stuffed with ground, spiced lamb with pesto and hummus. Pesto was strong, but balanced by the hummus, still allowing the lamb and spice flavors to come through. Very good, but could have been served hotter, and my beer could have been colder. Bread was unusually good… longish loaves, rather flat… about an inch high, very crispy outer crust, topped with coarse salt kernels, came with margarine and olive oil with splash of balsamic vinegar. For our entrees, we had the hangar steak and salmon burger. The steak was a huge portion, cooked as ordered, with sides of crunchy steamed broccoli and crisp fries. Very tasty and beautifully presented. The salmon burger was also very good… big patty, nicely seasoned, with sweet potato fries. We ate too much of the delicious bread to have room for dessert, and I took half the steak home. The grilled entrees were a little pricey but huge portions. The only downside… they very were busy, a little slow on the service, and the kitchen got a little backed up, but they managed to serve the food hot despite that. I will definitely eat here again.

I never got to experience this place. They advertised a brunch, I purchased a groupon for a brunch, I showed up for brunch and it was CLOSED! It would have been nice if they had a sign on the door indicating they were no longer doing brunch. Very disrespectful of your customers. I requested and received a refund from Groupon. Groupon is a good company!

Place is now under new management and is no longer the butcher block. If you have groupings get refunds. It’s now the butcher block kosher kitchen. No more brunch either. I just called and confirmed with the manager at the restaurant.

This place is a total embarrassment. Talk about amateur hour. Over priced NYE kitchen is run by a fucking imbecile has no idea how to organize the way the food comes out. Never again I’ve never been so pissed off after a meal until tonight Fucking incompetence at its best.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We ordered burger/fries, soup and salad. The burger was honestly one of the best I’ve had and the fries along with homemade catchup and mustard as well as fresh ingredients on the burger were am-az-ing. The chop salad and soup were so fresh and really good. The services was awesome and they were very eager to please and make sure we were happy with our selections. The outdoor seating is perfect for this time of year. This place is seriously a hidden gem. We plan to return immediately :)

Nice place. Was in the plaza and stopped for lunch. Place was empty except for a few folks at the bar out side. The weather was great so I sat outside. Barman took my order and I got decent service. Their lunch menu is not really priced for lunch and this place could be pricey for lunch entrees. I order lamb sliders for $ 15 and a side of pan seared Brussel sprouts for $ 8. The sprouts were delicious with plentiful little bits of bacon. The sliders were delish. Lamb was seasoned perfectly and sliders where sized just right. Fries came with the sliders. Didn’t care for them too much but they weren’t hot which tells me they dropped the fryer way too early. My only real turnoff was listening to the bartender complain about how they place was being run and how he would make the place better to a lady sitting down from me at the bar. As an employer, that’s a big turn off for me. You think your so smart, go open your own place! If I’m in the area I would prolly stop by for lunch again. Especially for the sprouts!

Sadly, I will have to agree with all the negative reviews of this place. Extremely slow service, and by 7pm the kitchen had run out of several menu items. BBG participated in the Flavor Palm Beach event along with some pretty great restaurants, so we thought it was worth a shot despite all the bad reviews. First off, the Flavor Palm Beach«special» was actually somewhat of a rip-off. Given that the portions were about half size(5oz hangar steak compared to the regular 10oz size), you probably end up paying MORE for your meal with the set price special. Service was very slow for everyone — all of our neighbors were equally annoyed at the service as we were. The food overall was 2⁄5 stars, but I am forced to downgrade based on what was hands down the WORST dessert I have ever tasted at a restaurant, which was the cookies with ice cream. Burnt, hard and disgusting cookies, and a what-were-you-thinking lukewarm chocolate milk thing with globs of coagulated chocolate sauce. The couple next to us had the same thing, and we looked at each other like these people must be crazy to actually serve this at a restaurant. Prices are ridiculous for the low low low quality of food and slow service.

We went for the brunch and the food was not bad. however for the price I expected much better. We didn’t luck out in the service department conisdering we sat without drinks for 15 min and it was unlimited morning cocktails for $ 10. Although don’t judge the overall service by this comment because tables around us were most certainly getting their moneys worth. Overall not bad only because we used the Groupon deal which saved us a few bucks. Regardless of service, food gets a 3 star in my book.

How can you mess up breakfast! This place has mastered it! Horrible home fries, greasy and soggy. Bacon tasteless, similar to cardboard lard. Crab cakes Benedict absolutely horrible quality of cheap canned crab. Even the eggs my friend had seemed out of a carton. The service is slow they need more cooks behind the line. The manager seems busy but doesn’t seem to help Out on the floor at all and the waitstaff evidently need help. I would hate to visit this place when it’s very busy, Sunday at 11:00 it wasn’t and thank God we had a groupon. After leaving here we went and ate breakfast at Dunkin doughnuts! I don’t know how this place will ever last. Also, the menu has not been updated and they have changed the lamb burger and is not served as described. Avoid this place!

Butcher Block has been undergoing a lot of changes of late, from new lighting to outdoor canopy, what it could really use are some menu changes or at least food improvements. Fortunately, I understand they will be getting to those, but in the meantime, I can only go a Three Stars because I’ve seen better; matter of fact food wise considerably better for the price. One thing Butcher Block does have is a wonderful setting, probably the one of the most beautiful mall settings I’ve ever seen with gushing fountains against a gorgeous tropical tree backdrops. You can’t help but enjoy that part of it. The menus are rather limited and from what I could tell really don’t seem to equate with the namesake of Butcher Block, as I would have expected far more in the meat selection, some notations as to dry or wet aged cuts, along with something more than a «well done, medium or rare» choice of how you want it done, such as Pittsburgh, blue, blackened, Cajun & etc. However to their credit they do have a Tomahawk Veal Chop and steaks served with an in house butcher butter, red wine demi glaze. For lunch I had the Lamb Burger, $ 14.00, which came with a side of tasty fries and the lamb uniquely served up in a pita bread along with what was said to be a yogurt with Meyer lemon and mint mixture; to my mind somewhat of a novel take off of on a Greek Tzatziki. I’ve been here before so I could not help but notice some very recent improvements around the bar area now with a new full cover awning canvas and improved lighting. So, they are clearly in the process of making some changes which will clearly add to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.
