This is a small cute restaurant in boca. It’s decorated like the inside of a house with big curtains and heavy décor. They have a prix fix menu option. I had a Caesar salad, the Cornish hen and the Apple dessert. Everything was good. They have a private room and many tables. I would suggest this restaurant for large parties. The staff is very polite. The restaurant is located in a Publix shopping center. Parking is available. However it may might be as close as you’d like.

I went to the restaurant with a friend today and experienced something that left me shaking my head in amazement and dismay. When the waiter brought the waters with lemon, I asked him for artificial sweetener. He said, «if you are making your own lemonade, I’ll have to charge you $ 1.00.» Just unbelievable! Paying the dollar was certainly not the issue for me, but going to an upscale restaurant and being nickel and dimed like that is inexcusable. Are they really losing so much money on people who like to customize their water? And what if I had just drank it with the lemon?! Some people like their lemonade unsweetened. Would I have been charged for that too? This is why Joseph’s Table gets a three star rating on Unilocal. It all makes sense now. Needless to say, my friend and I won’t be going back.

Dinner for 4 tonight. Not a single complaint. We all had the prix fix menu. 4 different starters — inion soup, goat cheese salad, tomato & mozzarella & pork pâté. Thumbs up all around the table. 3 if us gad the shrimp fra diablo — just the right hot and the portion size was perfect. 4th dinner was trout. Again everyone was happy. Then desserts all around. Beautiful and appropriate sizes. Best Cosmopolitan i’ve ever had. Definitely will be back. Our server Eva was delightful.

We tried this place on the recommendations of friends. First of all, let me say that the ambience and service were very good. Unfortunately the entrees were all too bland. Everyone at our table thought the same thing. The apps and desserts were good, just not the entrees, however the presentation was attractive and colorful. We will not rush back.

We(my wife and I) have dined here in the past and have always enjoyed the dining experience. That is, until now. We took advantage of the«Flavor of Palm Beach» promotion in which restaurants offer a special menu at $ 35 per person. Josef’s Table was different in that they allowed us to order from the entire menu, that is a selection from appetizers, entrée and dessert. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the food, at least in my case, wasn’t as good as it’s been in the past. My wife ordered a «Mini Cobb: salad and Trout Almondine, both of which she really enjoyed. My appetizer(escargot) was chewy and my entrée, coconut crusted Mahi Mahi was served shaped like a square and dry. I probably should have returned it and ordered the trout, but didn’t. By the way, by adding almonds to the trout dish meant an upcharge of $ 1.00. Really? Yes, really. The saving grace was the dessert — apple strudel, which both of us loved. It consists of baked apples served between two luscious, crispy squares of Fillo Pastry. The $ 35 Flavor of Palm Beach special runs through the month of September. In addition, they offer a «Sunset Special» before 6 pm, with free soup, salad or dessert with every a la carte entrée. Although I didn’t care for my meal(except the dessert), I might go back and order trout plus the apple strudel. I guess I’m a gluten for punishment. Dessert does that to me!

My family had Mother’s Day dinner there this past Sunday. Our dinners were very tasty and the portions good size. The appetizers were equally tasty. Service(timing from ordering to serving the dinner) was a little slow but could have been related to busy Mother’s Day. We will return especially for a special occasion dinner.

Three of us attended their Passover dinner. A week or so before the dinner someone called insisting we provide a credit card # to hold the reservation or they would cancel. That was tacky — they should have done this initially, as you don’t give credit card numbers out to strange men calling. What made it worse was during our 530 reservation time, there were empty tables and they even seated a walk in. The food was SPARSE. Had to ask for Matzoh, butter, and sour cream for the potato. The Tsimis was undercooked. The brisket had no sauce at all. Just meat in a plate. Same for the roast half chicken. Plopped in a plate, no garnish and tiny. The award winning cobbler was essentially a dry fig/granola bar that we had to request a scoop of ice cream at $ 1.50 extra in order to eat. Although the owner is a gentlemen, he is running the restaurant like an accountant and not a restauranteur. As for good points, the waiter was obviously trained in a five star restaurant. His recommended wine was outstanding. I hear the regular menu is a delight but I doubt I’d risk more money on this venture. The ambience and the management don’t justify a return trip.

The service was good. The food was good,(very overpriced) however the portions were so small that I thought they were joking when they brought out my sea bass, which was maybe 2 – 3 ounces. The chicken was tiny, and the filet was about 3 – 4 ounces. Needless to say, we left hungry. The owner greeted us at our table when we were first seated, but when we asked multiple times to speak with him about our dinner he never showed up. The manager confirmed that the size portions we were given were correct, and refused to admit how ridiculous the size actually was. Very poor customer service. We used to go here on a regular basis, but we will never go back.

Trout and salad decent. Blue cheese bit skimpy. Service 1st class but slow. Noise level fine. Deserts quite tasty and prefix price fair.

Very disappointing A restaurant that offers their worst table is offensive. With a reservation, we entered to find only one table occupied. They were going to seat us at an isle table. Before sitting, I requested another table outside of traffic and they said that is all they have. The family wanted to stay so we gave them a try. Many tables remained empty. The fish was dry and uninteresting. We will not return.

I was surprised to only see 3 stars for this restaurant as after going there tonight and having an oustanding meal with fabulous service it definitely deserves 4 stars. Firstly, the place is clean, elegant and tables are spaced well. There is a good wine list with enough by the glass and a great deal for bottles(on Monday nights) The prix fixe menu has plenty of choices and again, on Mon nights another special where you buy 1 prix fixe and the 2nd is ½ price! Wow! I had the escargots, trout and strawberry shortcake and loved them all. The Austrian chef did a marvelous job with all the dishes. Our server, Stephen was professional, funny and all the service was just right. I am looking forward to going back

Elegant atmosphere for a shopping center restaurant. The wait service is informative and respective, the food was fine. I had trout almandine with green beans which was a tad over cooked and dry but I had my sauce on the side. The others diners were upscale Polo Clubers. The menu was fine but if your in the mood for soup to nuts the full dinner is the way to go.

Went for Bday celebration and what a great time! Called last minute and even though they were booked we were accommodated. Great food and service, wide selection and reasonably priced.

I think I found this restaurant through Open Table which came with high praise through other reviews. I can only assume the people who left the reviews were the age 70+ with close to dead if not near dead pallets. No need to go into detail, I basically agree with all the reviewers who gave it a star for this establishment. Bland, and dated menu which caters and appeals to its local demographic.

There is the old joke about hell being a place where the mechanics are Italian and the chefs are German, but German food has a very unique characteristic to it, and Josef’s is really good at bringing the best out of it. Josef is, I understand it, back working in Austria after a falling out with the owner of the restaurant. Most people do not have a deep understanding of German cuisine, and the wonderfully simple roasted meats, and the meat pates, were not selling well. In a predominantly Jewish community, too, pork pâté is a tough sell. Because many of these people are Greatest Generation, some lingering ill-will towards Germans was fluttering around the menu of old by clucking old woman staring at the sea of garish signs that their owner plasters in the windows that makes the restaurant look desperate, not elegant. I have the schnitzel frequently when I come because it is quintessential German food. It’s not parmigiana. It’s not highly seasoned. German balances the rich egg covered Holstein filet which is great meat and crisp breading with the saltiness of the large caper berries and the tartness of the red cabbage with the nuttiness of the spaetzle on the whole plate. It’s a dish to be eaten together, not evaluated for its elements. If you order the price fixe dinner you will get three courses and the portions will be a tad smaller but if you have, as a prior reviewer noted, a two-grape tomato eating wife complaining about portions on a $ 39 three course meal of five star food, does she need three full courses of very hearty rich food? Probably not. The scallops, the Wagyu beef steak and other dishes are exquisite, and, like most restaurants, better when the head chef is in the building. They make a wicked French onion soup, and their PEI steamed mussels broth could be a meal in itself! The bar is one of the best stocked in the county, and they have lots of couches on their patio to sit and have a drink, but the view is limited to the parking lot. Good company should mitigate that. Management has been the hobgoblin of this place so I dropped it a star for the restaurant, and a star for mishandling one of the best-stocked and best tended bars in Boca. Even though the servers are generally quite good, many of them are young and inexperienced. That might fly well in Coconut Creek, but here in Boca Raton, where patrons tend to be wealthy, New Yorkerish, impatient, and are looking for Svengali-like servers who can read patrons’ minds five minutes before the customer knows what they want, customers are frequently disappointed by the mere mortals serving the Boca Gods. The thing that distinguishes Josef’s in a bad way is that their owner hires terrible managers who do little more than blame the owner for the flaws in the place and throw their hands up, as happened last night(6÷28÷14), instead of putting a culture into the dining room that can succeed with leading people into its menu rather than pandering to the older-than-dust crowd from Henry’s up the way. Go and have a great meal, be patient, and set your expectation level for four star good with threeish-star service, and you should be fine.

Good entrees. Prompt service. Odd layout and décor. I had the osso buco with saffron rice. The dish was very good: the meat was well cooked and the saffron really came through in the flavor of the rice(it wasn’t just dyed yellow.) It came with a side of delicately prepared vegetables that tasted fresh and went well with the meat. My wife had the vegan bolognese, which was a light and healthy option. We did not opt for the three course fixed price offering, but $ 39 seems like a great deal for that. No issues with the service. The layout is weird though. The front foyer opens into the main dining room and the flow of people walking to their tables is disruptive to the people already eating. Also, the kitchen is semi-open, yet not really suited to be an exposed kitchen, due to its being utilitarian, borderline dingy. Almost as if they forgot to install a wall between the dining area and the kitchen.

While the evening was lovely, this is not a review for my Valentines, it’s a review for the establishment. The crowd is considerably aged and, in contrast, the servers seemed very young and even slightly unprofessional. An upscale establish catering to an older crowd, I was excepting to see a more tenured and polished staff. The food was very good. But it just didn’t add up for the price. I can think of a couple big chain restaurants even with a juicier steak, or better portions for the money. I will say that the menu options were plentiful. Escargot and calamari to caprese salad and Mediterranean plate. If your are as curious as I was, you should take your expectations down a notch, and check them out for lunch, otherwise you likely won’t be back.

Josef’s Table is located in an upscale mall immediately outside of the Polo Club. The space is inviting, sort of cozy and alive but based upon some of the previous reviewers criticisms I was on high alert in expecting service glitches. There were none… so ambiance and service deserve 4 stars… $ 39.95 for a three-course price fixed meal with a really extensive menu was extremely fair except for some exceptions… My «somewhat anorexic wife» who normally feels engorged with two cherry tomatoes and a couple of lettuce leaves felt that 3 medium sized divers scallops was a bit chintzy for a main course… But the preparation was flavorful. On the contrary my weinerschnitzel ala Holstein was ample but a bit weird …2 Sunnyside eggs topped with anchovies and capers over the breaded veal did not enhance the the relatively bland veal preparation. If my name was Holstein I wouldn’t want it attached to this dish… On the contrary if you enjoy escargot Joseph’s preparationwas classically garlicky & hits the spot… My Panna cotta dessert was okay but a bit gelatinous… In general I found the ambiance & food preparation pleasant but not outstanding… We would return but probably not on a Saturday night assuming that the surrounding noisy chatter would be somewhat more tolerable on weekdays.
