This is an update to a previous review. I took my 99 yo mom in for a cleaning. His hygienist discovered some decay under a crown that supported her partial denture. The decay appeared to be pretty extensive, which may have resulted in a significant problem. Dr Selzer judiciously removed the decay which was just shy of the nerve, placed a sedative dressing, then filled the cavity. A root canal and a crown would have been pretty traumatic for her. Thank you Dr. Selzer for your treatment plan and your masterful execution Sincerely, Michael Schuman

I LOVELOVELOVE this office… and have been going to them for two years… Dr. Selzer is only dentist I have been to that I don’t fret going to — or hate leaving. All of the staff– from front to back– are GREAT! The are gentle, friendly and non judgmental(yes, I have judgmental and mean dentists!) I never wait longer than 15 minutes and it’s very easy to get an appointment. TWOTHUMBSWAYYYYYYYUP!

As many of you, I am afraid of doctors. But dentists are the worst, in my case. They use needles, pointy pocking things, drills, and that awful sound that make my hairs stand out. I know, it’s mostly in my head, that’s why it’s called a phobia. But, it’s something we all have to do so, I went. First I went through a list of offices covered by my insurance. Most of them are these chains of 10 dentists per office which I hate. You never get a personal attention, and I get the feeling most do things quick to get more patients in. I know a couple of people that have had to look for and pay for second procedures because the first(at one of these places) wasn’t done properly. So, from the list I find Dr. Selzer @ Boca Smile Center. I called on a Friday morning and left a message to make an appointment. To my surprise I get a call from the doctor, apologizing because his assistant, Cathie, wasn’t in that day but assured me I would get a call to schedule the following week, and I did. Cathie was very nice, helpful, and encouraging(I told her I was very nervous). Even the day of my appointment I was held by traffic and she was very patient with me, making sure I made it safe in time for the doctor to see me. Once there she greeted me with a smile and chatted with me a bit to help me control my nerves. Now I met Dr. Selzer. Also with a smile, he introduced himself and noticing I was nervous he gave me a book of(his) photos with poems to help me relax and take my mind off the fact I was at the dentist. The other thing I found really cool is the fact that he cares how you got to find him, and even asks your opinion on his site & marketing strategies. He likes the input/ideas you give him. Flora took my X-rays and also was very comforting. She explained step by step what we were doing, what it was for, etc. Last, but nor least, is the Hygienist Heronka. She is amazing. She noticed if I started to feel uncomfortable, explained what she was doing, and was very patient with me. Today was my second time at the office and, as soon as I walked in, everyone greeted me by name — very personal and friendly. It is amazing that I can actually say«this was not as bad as I imagined». Don’t get me wrong, I’m still petrified of doctors, but The staff and Drs. of Boca Smile Center have managed to help me work with those fears, enough for me to write & recommend them to everyone in search of a new or better dentist.
