Moon’s Tavern

After driving by for almost 15 years I finally stopped in and was pleasantly surprised! This is a Bar. Capital letters intended. Good pours, reasonable prices, friendly staff, complete with darts and couches for relaxing with a drink. It’s not fancy, but it’s a great place to start an evening, or finish a great one. A West Boca treasure right outside my front door.

I’m saddened to see that all the positive reviews for Moons have been filtered.
I’m even more saddened to see that the only review that has been posted is from a non-​enthusiast of dive bars. Allow me to clear the air.
Moons is a Dive Bar. It’s dark, it’s smokey, there’s A pool table and a couple dart boards. Guess what else it has… A fabulous staff, stiff drinks, great prices and a convenient location for those of us in N.Boca.
There’s also a ton of tv’s, a jukebox packed full of favorites and the bathrooms are clean.
Does it feel like your neighbor made his garage into a bar? Yes.
Is it smokey and full of questionable characters? Maybe, but that depends on the night and your overall take on the bar scene.
Me, I enjoy a cigar from time to time & people watching and chatting regardless of their social level is something I find fun on occasion.
So if you’re like me and have a soft spot in your heart, and liver, for a local dive bar, then Moons is Definitely worth checking out.

This place is an interesting Irish bar in Boca. They support the Chicago Bears and green pints. The local clientèle have been coming here for years and they all know each other. I came here with a friend to listen to the live music and the person playing was very good. Lots of Neil Diamond and would you believe Phantom of the Opera. The place is big enough for one pool table and a dart board. They don’t serve food so the place is very smoky. I would give it more than two stars but the musician isn’t a regular item and a small smoky bar isn’t really my thing. Don’t come here expecting much and you might enjoy yourself.
