I was blown away at how deliciously fresh the fish is, especially the nigiri. The hot appetizers were very tasty, but the real star of the show were the nigiri! Words cannot even describe… The freshness of the fish combined with the subtle flavors added by the sushi chef! The nigiri were fatty tuna, lean tuna, salmon, snapper, and yellow tail. Definitely get the chef nigiri selection!

Had a great sushi lunch here after a day at the spa with my cousin! The fish is so incredibly fresh here, you’re paying for quality. Yes, it’s pricey but you’re also able to dine here without hurting the bank too much — they have some decently priced wine & bubbly to drink and honestly the sushi rolls are pretty huge, two STUFFED me and I certainly could have had one with a side of edemame instead! What I did love is that everything is customizable — I got the spicy tuna roll and added avocado for a little creaminess which was delicious. As you may know, I’m not a fan of nori so they do have soy wrap here as well for any of you like me! My cousin was extremely happy with both of her rolls as well. It came out to about $ 35 each with 2 rolls a piece and a glass of champagne each, so it really wasn’t bad. You’re on vacation! The service was a little slow, but it’s great that you get to see them prepare all of the food in front of you when you sit at the bar — I recommend it for the experience.

Beautiful ambiance & great service. You definitely pay for you get here because the fish, rice & seaweed quality is superb. Definitely recommend the Wasabi Rock shrimp & their special Beef Phở. My favorite maki was the soft shell crab maki along with the Kumamoto oysters, you won’t be disappointed. Will most definitely be returning & thank you to their lovely wait staff, very friendly, attentive & knowledgeable of the food menu.

My partner and I went to Morimoto while we are saying in the sister property across the canal, the Boca Beach Club. Overall, it was a rather affordably priced sushi meal, and not bad for a hotel restaurant. The seating at this hotel restaurant was not very large at all — probably around 30 seats. That being said, the restaurant was basically empty the night we went there. We at the sushi bar, which is probably the best seat in the house. The sushi was fresh, and I really enjoyed my soft-shelled crab roll. The tempura was done in the back kitchen, and you kind a have a peek in there if you sit at the sushi bar. The miso soup was the best soup on the menu. I would say the options were pretty standard — there were a few selections, but not a lot of innovative food. I think the menu was very«safe,» which probably reflects the hotel guests more than what Morimoto would do himself. The drink menu was, of course, heavy on sake. They had some expensive Western cocktails like an Old Fashioned, but they didn’t fit the food whatsoever. The liquor cocktails definitely clashed with the Japanese food, which was not a great sign for this restaurant. Overall, this isn’t a bad option if you are staying at the hotel. There’s a lot of other restaurants nearby, so I’m not sure how many Japanese or sushi options there are.

First time staying at the Boca Raton Resort so we wanted to take advantage of experiencing a meal at Morimoto. Came for lunch on a Saturday w/my husband and I really wanted him to experience a little of everything so we sat at the sushi bar to watch the chef in action. The server came right away with exuberant energy and a welcoming presence. He made us feel right at home. I told him my desire to order the chef’s combination: sushi & maki roll deluxe(where the sushi chef decides on which items to serve you) on an artfully presented platter. Our orders were taken and we sat and started chatting with the sushi chef who was incredibly informative yet laid back with zero pretentiousness. LOVEDHIM! My husband was asking probably 1987458374 questions(as per usual) from where the tuna came from to where he liked to fish for fun(lol). Our platter was ready and the chef explained to us what each set of sushi and maki roll was… everything looked beautiful. We started from the most subtle tasting fish to the strongest and with each bite, our palates were more and more in heaven. The maki rolls were made with toasted sesame seeds for a nice crunch and smoky flavor — just deelish! The toro was a bite of pure heaven, the fatty tuna just literally melted in our mouths into a buttery bliss. The sushi rice was done just right w/perfect texture and the right amount of rice vinegar. I just wish the fish itself was a few degrees colder. It was«different» to eat such warm pieces of sushi I guess… My other issue was the fact that the chairs at the bar were stationary so if you wanted to move in closer to your plate you were left craning your body forward. Not to mention that my husband and I normally sit a lot closer to each other than the spacing of these seats. Bar stools/chairs should have the option of moving in my opinion. We had lovely lunch here and look forward to coming back especially for great conversations with the sushi chef!

This place has some of the freshers, tastiest sushi I’ve had in a long time. This restaurant is very small and does not take reservations, which is definitely a downside, but the sushi is worth the wait. The tuna and salmon were so tender and fresh, it melted in my mouth. The disappointing part of the restaurant was their soda came in tiny 8oz bottle. For a hefty price of $ 4. I would definitely go there again.

Great atmosphere… loved the white décor and fish tank televisions on the wall. If your craving sushi and don’t want to leave the Resort this is your place. Can’t make a reservation and hope it’s not super busy or you won’t get a table since the area is small.

The first time I went was during Art Basel and it was an amazing experience. Morimoto was present in the kitchen. Food, service and presentation blew me away. I brought my bf back during swimweek(mid July) and we were both disappointed. Although service was good, food was nothing special and very pricey for what it is. I like the tuna pizza for starters. The tuna tartar is annoying to scoop up with the spoon they give you and not much flavor. Their tuna bowl with rice and veggies was nothing special. The chocolate ball with marshmallow inside, they pour fire and melt it in front of you, that’s actually tasty and a fun presentation. I just feel there’s much better sushi spots and would not go back.

Fantastic sushi, would be a 5 if it wasn’t at such a high price. There are plenty of sushi spots that are on par at a more reasonable price. It is definitely in the upper tier of sushi restaurants though.

Decent food, trendy ambiance, but nowhere worth the ridiculous prices they charged. Add to that, the service was not very friendly, or quick, and I can say that I probably wouldn’t be returning here. I’d rather pay the extra money to eat in the courtyard. I was at the hotel for a conference and swung by to grab a quick lunch. I ordered the hamachi tartare followed by a rainbow roll. Let me say up-front, the quality of the fish was very good. But even for South Florida, nowhere near deserving of the prices that they are charging. I sat at the bar and was able to see the nimble sushi chef’s work their magic as they prepared their masterpieces. I waited… and waited… and waited for one of the servers to come bring me a menu and take my drink order. Then I waited… and waited some more before my simple club soda arrived. After putting in my order, I waited some more for my order to come up. What should have been a 30 minute meal was nearly 90 minutes… way too long for this experience. Food was good, but again, not worth the money or the ordeal.

Located conveniently in the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Morimoto is fantastic sushi bar founded by Iron Chef Morimoto. Food is excellent, my favorites being the wasabi rock shrimp and the California roll. Service is ok, as tables outside are often forgotten about and you will frequently wait for a server to notice at least 10 minutes. However, when eating inside, service is perfect.

Unfortunately, since there is such a famous name attached to this restaurant, I have to give it 3 stars because it wasn’t the best sushi I’ve had. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing enough to crave it to have it again on a Friday night or anything. I guess for the price also I expected a bit more flavor and freshness. So overall, just pretty good.

I was expecting this to be the best sushi I’ve ever eaten considering the hype about the Iron Chef. Unfortunately this was a huge bust. We ordered the toro tartare to start off with(which is 28 dollars) and it took about an hour to receive it. When they brought it to us it was a quarter sized stack of tuna. We were shocked at how little it was but it must taste amazing. Wrong. We tasted it and the tuna was so frozen that it was like a tuna sorbet. Gross. I’ve eaten better tartare at every other place I’ve gone to. We then had an avocado roll and a tuna roll. Again nothing out of the ordinary. Just completely overpriced, over hyped, and really bad service.

Note: On Unilocal I review exclusively sushi bars. Unfortunately, quite a disappointment. Better than your average place, but for an exclusive hotel, the Morimoto name, and the price charged certainley not excellent. Just as a reminder, you must be a hotel guest or club member(or with a member) to visit the bar. The bar was certainly chic, but due to its placement and exposure to the hotel hallway, it felt more like an airport eatery with all the people walking past. The bar stools are fixed to the floor so you can’t adjust your distance to the bar. The bar itself was flat and deep, which made it a little discomforting to receive plates and no serving shelf. The result was we got a new plate for every morsel. The rice was more enjoyable than the fish. Nicely warm and medium sweetness. The fish was a disappointment for the expectation. It was enjoyable and good, but it was not excellent as expected of the location. The fish was not as firm as expected, and the taste was a little aged. The salmon was particularly disappointing. Further, although there were a few variations of Japanese snapper and some fluke fin that differ from your neighborhood joint, there weren’t any options that were even mildly exotic. The chef was hard to engage and not talkative at all, but that was OK. When asked if they had any fresh wasabi, they informed me it was provided. It was definitely not the fresh grated wasabi pictured in one of the photos, and it certainly had some horseradish in it. Again, if this were a neighborhood joint, I would be quite pleased, but as an elite sushi bar in an exclusive hotel it was a disappointment.

Had dinner here tonight with a few colleagues from work. First, to start with the good /the sushi was really good. It was fresh, light, and full of flavor. Only one roll, the spicy tuna roll, was on the salty side. The not so good? There were open tables and we tried to get two more work friends in to sit with us, and they wouldn’t allow it, stating there was already too many people there for the kitchen to support. I can appreciate the concern, but there was two open tables and four or five open seats at the sushi bar. Hardly felt like an overcrowded situation, plus we said we were willing to wait longer and order cocktails in the interim. After a litany of begging, they finally let them sit at the sushi bar. But it took around a half an hour.

Wow — super expensive for what it is /where it is. Almost obscene. This place charges the sushi averse $ 7 for a small bowl of miso soup. Nigiri is $ 5 – 10 per single, unremarkable piece: Conch was inedibly tough. Octopus was edible, but tough. Salmon could have been sourced from Kroger/Publix. I mean it. Hamachi was decent, but I can’t remember the last piece of yellowtail I didn’t like. $ 300 later and we were still massively hungry. This is a black hole — just get a cheeseburger and a frrrozen hot chocolate across the hall at Serendipity3 and call it a day. And I love sushi! Who is this Morimoto anyhow? Thinks he’s Nobu Matsuhisa or something?

Kobe style katsu:(crisp minced beef, caramelized onions, tomato, cabbage, katsu sauce, toasted white bread; omg!!! This dish was amazing!!! The kobe beef was so juicy, tender, and flavorful, it was lightly fried with the panko around it, katsu means that it’s breaded and fried kind of like fried chicken; this sandwich was topped with tomato and cabbage, the cabbage was awesome and had some dressing on it which was perhaps the katsu sauce; the combo of everything was amazing which made it ok to be on white bread hahah!; this appetizer was totally worth $ 25!!); Eel avocado maki roll(yum! the eel and avocado were great, the rice was soft and I wish the sushi was more compact and didn’t fall apart as much but the rice was really warm so that probably didn’t help; the sushi was really good but nothing super amazing) Sugar plum drink(this drink was great; sweet and refreshing, I couldn’t really taste the vodka which is dangerous but it definitely got me tispy enough in the afternoon lol) This sushi bar is simple and the screens play ocean scenes so it’s basically fish and ocean life swimming; the service was good, the sushi chefs are fun to watch, I was disappointed with the sushi menu though, I thought they would have more cool specialty rolls, but it was good for what I got and the price was similar to any other sushi restaurant but I don’t think good sushi should cost a lot.

Food Horrible, Atmosphere Horrible, Service Mediocre. After being a member at the boca raton resort and club for some time I decided to try morimoto, huge mistake. I ordered a chefs special of nigiri, the fish was disgusting. I had the rainbow roll next, the rice was dry and the fish just as bad as the nigiri. The atmosphere is bland at best, bar stools are uncomfortable and lighting is anything but intimate. Very disappointing…
