We ordered pancakes at this location and they tasted weird. The manager said«that’s how they are supposed to taste». We eat at Ft Lauderdale location all the time and they taste a lot better! I will not be coming back to this location. Service was weird, manager didn’t care, and for their prices there should be a little more care for the experience of their patrons.

Arrived on a Friday morning and it was nice to see this place not too crowded. On the weekends there can be quite a wait time, which obviously is a sign of a good restaurant. We come here when we want a consistently delicious breakfast in a no frills atmosphere. Not to say this place isn’t appealing to the eye. It is. It’s very clean, very well lit, with a contemporary feel with nice lighting and hardwood floors. Staff were all friendly. We shared an omelette with mushrooms and cheese. They bake them and they are huge. It arrived with pancakes, which of course were perfectly fluffy. Not surprisingly so, given the name of the establishment. The coffee was mediocre, but this isn’t Starbucks, so definitely won’t hold it against this place.

This spot has the machine that squeezes oranges or grapefruit and serves fresh-squeezed juice. Don’t know anywhere else in the area that does so. Open kitchen. Well-lighted, big windows(with view of parking lot, but they’re still good). Have eaten here more times than I can count and never had a disappointing meal. Only reason I don’t give it five stars is that lines are common at popular times.

I like the food here. I ordered the two by two with is two eggs and two pancakes. Upgraded the pancakes to banana chocolate chip which were awesome. My husband ordered the waffles which he wasn’t a huge fan of but in the past he has ordered the baked omelettes and likes those. Service left much to be desired. Within 30 seconds of sitting down the server was asking if we were ready to order but we barely got a chance to look at the menu. We ordered two orange juices and she brought us the wrong drinks. The orange juice is fresh squeezed which is nice but then it’s room temperature which I wasn’t a fan of. When we «finally» placed our order the server didn’t put in our entire order and some items were missing when the food came out. I have to assume this was a result of the big rush she was apparently in. The server continued acting like we were taking too long so we left and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Less time than we waited for a table and I don’t believe we should’ve been rushed when we only sat for 30 minutes!

I’m not sure why there are so many negative comments. I travel all over the country for work and use Unilocal exclusively for restaurant picks. I was seated promptly and water appeared along with my coffee. The buckwheat pancakes came out piping hot(way too many for one person) along with crispy bacon. I’ll agree the syrup was thin and probably an inexpensive brand but overall, an excellent breakfast. The senior citizen server couldn’t be more accommodating.

My 2 star review is based mostly on management and how they treat customers. The front staff and management have attitudes. We used to go to this location a lot. The food is great and the servers are all very nice however we no longer go here because on more than one occasion we have either witnessed or been subjected to what I consider really poor management. We have watched the manager and front host act rude and have a «who cares about you» attitude. We have also been hung up on when trying to place a to go order. This place has good food and a line on the weekends but we choose to spend our money at a place that wants our business and cares about it’s customers.

Save your money! Couldn’t wait to try this place ! I had high expectations for the quality of food ! Ordered the famous Apple pancake and was disappointed not only was it not that very flavorful the syrup was extremely thin and water which ruined the pancake. I then tried the stuffed French toast it was obviously rushed. Filling also very thin and the syrup of course didn’t help that either. I had the bacon very thin and my toast first time out was cold. Second try like warm? Guests that accompanied me were also upset I made them try it over ihop! I’m not a fan of there quality either however would’ve rather spent $ 60 there instead! Server was very non attentive with coffee refills, was put off by the fact I didn’t like their thin syrup and only came back to drop off check!

Not impressed, service was slow and rude and the food by the time was served was cold. They are pretty careless about the situation, plenty more places better to go

Decided to have breakfast at this place and my experience immediately went down hill from the time we sat down. I asked for hot water with lemon and was told there’s a charge for hot water. How cheap can one be. So I declined. then I asked for pecans in my pancakes which was another up charge but when they came there were only ten pecans sprinkled on top. How cheap can one be. This place will nickel and dime you until you walk out paying a fortune. Not the best way to start my day. BTW they even charge $ 2 for each tea bag. Now that’s how cheap.

I’ve been to original pancake house since it was at its first location on Powerline and Palmetto. When I was a kid I loved it! Pancakes and chocolate for breakfast! Yum but not anymore. I find that the fruit is not fresh, there are no real healthy balanced options on the menu, and nothing is really freshly made. Such a bummer because unless you want a bagel where can you go for breakfast around here? Yeah I know there’s First Watch but I’m not a fan and that’s a totally different story. I will go there occasionally when people come in from out of town or for a quick birthday celebration but definitely not a regular breakfast spot for me. It’s really inexpensive and worth trying. Most of the guests are either families with young kids or above 65+. If you do go I would get the chocolate strawberry crêpe(share it with someone because it’s a lot), no strawberry cream(that’s my preference though), and strawberries on the side.

Two words. Danish Baby. Mind blown. Amazing coffee. Creative dishes. Great and fast service. Will be back next time I’m in soflo. Everyone is talking about the dishes taking forever or the wait being long. On a Saturday or Sunday morning the wait is long at every breakfast joint. Also, the menu tells you what dishes take 20 minutes and 30 minutes. If you want a quick breakfast put some bread in your toaster. I loved this place and would love to see one in Orlando.

The food, service and atmosphere is all perfect! I’ve been coming to this location with my family for over 2 years when we moved to Boca. We come here every Sunday and have our favorites. On week days when the kids don’t have school we come here and kids eat free with an adult entrée purchase. Doesn’t get better than this and they offer a rewards card.

My sole prior experience with the Original Pancake House franchise was in Champaign, IL, where the restaurant is deservedly grotesquely popular for weekend brunches. The atmosphere is cozy there, the prices modest, and the food well-made. On Glades Road, though? The atmosphere is cafeteria-like. Cold, color-bland perfunctory booths and tables spread out in yawning, naked way(the décor might as well heavily feature mops and buckets) might speak to the sheer volume of customers, but there are ways to arrange seating such that one is not overwhelmed by a panopticon effect. I paid about ten dollars for lousy coffee and a waffle with sausages. The sausages were OK, actually; better than I’d expect from a chain, and that befits OHP’s reputation. The waffle was garbage, though. As though poured from a carton and singed by a toaster. Even dingy diners do right by cultivating a kind of cozy low-expectations charm, but this place has just slightly more charm than a feeding trough. If you’ve got a family to fill up, you can do that here and then hit the gas station; get it all done in one trip. But if you’re looking for a breakfast experience that isn’t borderline-depressing, head elsewhere.

In my numerous visits over the years, I have to begin with the disclaimer that the the timing of your visit and what you order can make a huge impact of your expectations and overall rating of this restaurant. I went with 4 family members at 7:45am on a Saturday and had no wait at all. However, we have also had experienced much longer wait times, especially as you get closer to 9am on a weekend. I’ve noticed there are often families with very small children, and the noise carries so it’s not typically the quietest place. The overall atmosphere feels like your classic all-American diner. The baked omelette I ate was a unique twist for me(picture posted,) as it fluffs up and doesn’t look like what you’d expect. Well cooked and delicious, but it was the only breakfast joint I’ve been to without Chalula hot sauce, which I usually douse my eggs in, so that was a let down(they do have Tabasco, though.) I’ve also had chocolate pecan pancakes here which are fantastic, and for years my family’s favorite was the Dutch baby– a unique«thin pancake» you cover with lemon and powdered sugar and won’t see on a restaurant elsewhere. Overall, I always look forward to coming here. 3-stars simply because unless you order one of the unique items, it’s a pretty standard, consistently«good» breakfast.

This review is written based on 3 – 4 visits over the past 6 months. Overall, the service is what you expect from this type of restaurant… it’s service. Nothing spectacular, nothing awful. But I’m compelled to write after our experience yesterday on Mother’s Day. After a long 45 minute wait(not complaining, we expected it), we were seated with a major attitude because our 8 week old daughter is in a stroller. We «should have told them that» when we checked in. Well, my wife tried to tell the host/hostess twice after we checked in, and was just brushed off with an «okay» because apparently they were too busy to bother. Server arrived promptly, the food came fast(although the server wrongfully assumed that we were ordering off of the kid’s menu for our son, when in fact we were not). Honest mistake I suppose, but you shouldn’t make assumptions. Then, about ¾ of the way through our meal(my plate was nowhere near empty), our server came by and dropped the check off at our table. She didn’t ask if we wanted the check, she didn’t ask if we were done, she didn’t ask if we needed anything else. I was SHOCKED. After that point, it was a struggle to get anything else. I needed more coffee. My wife needed more water. We had to wave her down(which I hate doing as a customer because I feel like it’s very rude) because she was no longer coming back to the table. Each time we asked for something, she would roll her eyes or make some other face that made it clear we were a bother to her. I kept my mouth shut and quietly asked for the manager after paying my bill. As I tried to explain the situation, he brushed me off with an «I’m really sorry that happened to you…» as he was walking away from me. While I was still talking. He didn’t even let me finish. It’s evident where the attitude comes from. If the manager is going to treat customers like this, what can you expect from servers? It’s a shame, because we like the food, but I can’t bring myself to come back to a place that is more concerned with turning over their tables than with the experience of a paying customer. 2.5 stars because you didn’t fail me in the past, but on Mother’s Day you failed miserably. I believe I overheard that the manager’s name was Mohammed. So, if you are reading this, I hope that you learn something.
Came here to have breakfast for dinner. Love this place. Their pancakes are rich and delicious. This evening we actually went with their Dutch style pancakes — Dutch baby and Apple baby. They were delicious! Dutch baby is basically a giant popover that is light, eggy, slightly sweet. It comes with powdered sugar and on the side more sugar, whipped butter and fresh lemons. Amazing! Apple baby is the Dutch baby with apples/sugar baked into it(picture apple pie filling). Of course, my daughter got that topped with ice cream. I believe the ice cream was homemade. My daughter also had the most delicious chocolate milk ever. Oh and our server was excellent and the manager kept checking on all of the tables
