Not hip at all. I have been here twice and I’ve had it. It’s always empty and 95% older crowd. The music is good, the owner or manager walks around drunk, bothering people all the time. It is very sketchy and unclean. I do not recommend this place at all. Drinks don’t have the same price depending on who you order from. To say it’s a low class attempt to entertain is an understatement. Gross came back and same old stuff

Loved this place. We got there at 8, no one was there but the bartenders were supper nice and the 70’s music was playing. The DJ played every song we requested. It started getting a crowd aroun 9:30 and it was a nice crowd. I truly had a fantastic time here and will go again and planning a party there as we speak.

Music was fun and so were the people. However, literally the WORST bartenders ever. We asked the same bartender(short/bald guy) multiple times for the jack & coke and it never arrived. 20 minutes later we asked the other guy at the back bar for help; he yelled at us that it’s his first day and to give him a break. My friend got yelled at for closing his tabs and then ordering a drink after. The bartenders have no idea how to make a drink or even open a Stella. Platforms needs to get rid of these bartenders!

Ducked in to meet Kristy and her hottie squad and it was a fine time, here’s why: * Kristy is hot and dances WELL! * She has a cool, friendly, accepting, and fun-loving circle of friends * Jerry was rockin’ the red Club shirt, well! * 5 bucks to get in * Comp valet * Multi-generational crowd having fun and dancing, no kids. * Not too crowded * Not pricey for Boca * Big Disco Ball. I dig Disco Balls. * They played«Dancin’ Queen» by Abba. I’m a Dancin’ Queen slut. Sigh, good times. Too many dudes, but that is okay. Cabeza OUT!

Your experience at Platforms will be directly proportional to the amount of booze you drink. If you are sober then you will be wondering if your social life has sunken to such a low that you are hanging out with old dudes who probably partied at Studio 54 and are still wearing the wardrobe. If you are wasted then you will be dancing your ass off to old school 70s and 80s music and wondering why you don’t come here more often. We initially showed up here sober and it was not good. The $ 5 admission also was a little surprising. Other than some pretty good looking cougars who danced disco like pros, the crowd here was pretty sad. However, after getting some drinks in the system we were right in the middle of filming Saturday Night fever. The music here is pretty good, you just have to be with a good crowd and right state of mind and there are definitely good times to be had. Would this be my first choice to go to on a night out? Not necessarily but if it ends up being a stop during a long night out then I definitely wouldn’t mind.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I came here with my fiancé, and some friends to show my mother in law a good time. She wanted to dance and have fun since she was only in town for a few days, so I thought that this place would be fun. We got to the bar and ordered a few drinks and then decided to order a shot. We ordered a kamikaze and the bartender didn’t even know what was in it! It’s a kamikaze. Then she went to shake the shot and shook it so poorly I had to ask to take the tin from her and shake it the way a shot should be shaken. Pathetic. We then got an extra shot out of it because she didn’t know how to measure things out correctly. Good thing I shook it to make it cold, she didn’t make the drink right and if it wasn’t super cold, we probably would have spit it out. It wasn’t very busy(it was a Friday night too) and there were a few random guys dancing. We all went out on the dance floor and starting dancing and having a good time. We were really enjoying ourselves even though we were being stared at by bartenders and an older man(who I later found out was the owner) like we had five heads. I’m sorry, this is a disco dance club. What’s the matter? Then we ended up being the only people in the club. A man then came over to us and asked us to stop dancing because we were being in appropriate. Um, dancing disco is inappropriate? I was dancing with my fiancé. Not doing anything too crazy. And even if we were, we were the only people in the club. We were joking and laughing and having a great time! So I went over to the man and asked who he was. He was the owner. I asked him what made him so offended. He said we were being in appropriate. Fine. He then said that the bar was closed. It closes at 2 and it was maybe barely 1. I then noticed that the crappy bartender was sitting with the owner. Clearly his much younger woman. And I’ve seen them out together since then. Pathetic. Clearly she was only hired because she is his lady. He was drinking, getting drunk at his own club. But that’s not inappropriate at all. I had been there once before and had a fun time. After this time, I won’t be back and neither will all of my friends. All because the owner was a complete unprofessional jerk. Oh and to top it off, we spent $ 75 for crappy drinks and crappy service. What a waste of money. Don’t go there.

If you are planning to have a private gathering at Platforms, you might want to think twice before signing any contracts. Although it is a fun place to go if you like dancing, the appetizers were the worst I’ve ever had. Soggy, reheated and unappealing. Served from a plastic ‘warming’ cart, the presentation was less than inviting and spread out on a folding table amidst extra booths in disposable foil pans. They need to step it up if they expect repeat business.

I went to the Halloween party last night. I thought it was a lot of fun. People had told me that it was an ‘older’ crowd. That really didn’t phase me. I am in my 30’s and I saw some people who looked younger than me there as well. When I went the people who were there had a lot of energy and were enjoying themselves. When I go out to a club atmosphere that is what I want to be around. Platforms has different music themes for the night which range from 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Last night they played a lot of disco. I love disco. There are pictures and displays around the club that range from the Brady Bunch to Michael Jackson. There are vinyl records hanging off the ceiling. To give you an idea of drink prices my boyfriend and I ordered a beer and a wine and it was $ 14 for both. If you are just looking to have a drink and dance to retro music I think this place is a great time. I plan to go back.

Great music, good DJ, but after 2:00 am they kick you out in a rude way! Never come back in this place again!!!
