Disclaimer: I do not review anywhere that I have not eaten more than twice and have given a fair opportunity to provide a great experience with an open mind. I am lactose so I stay away from dairy plates(yes, that means I do not eat cheese) Enjoy the review! The food here is fantastic. Everything cooked is fairly fresh, clean and healthy. I mainly stick to the Jerk Chicken lunch special where I have been served juicy pieces of chicken breast with rice and peas and very tasty steamed cabbage. The jerk sauce is one of the best I have tasted. The food is little on the spicy side if you are not used to it and the service is not as fast as some people would like, but that is expected being a Caribbean café. The beef patties are also extremely good, very nice and flaky with a good amount of hot tasty beef inside. Bottom line: 100% recommend this place as a casual eater and for fans of Caribbean food.

Looking for the best jerk chicken in boca. This is the place. Went with the jerk chicken lunch special $ 7.95 plus a house made Jamaican Patty. Got to say the place was great, quick service and friendly staff. Definitely coming back

Drove from west palm beach during normal business hours only to find they closed early.

I have been eating here for over two years. This is not authentic Jamaican but the it’s still good. The chicken is all white meat and the portions are decent. Oxtail is always on point. I will continue to go back but I understand it’s not authentic. They should make their own jerk sauce instead of using the canned stuff.

The rice was under-seasoned. The chicken’s texture was rubbery and did not have an authentic brown stew or curry taste. I ended up with a huge stomachache after eating this. I was hoping to find a local replacement for my favorite Jamaican restaurant, the Dutch Pot in Ft. Lauderdale. This restaurant does not even compare to it. Will not return.

I love rocksteady. They’re friendly and the food always hits the spot. Rocksteady is my little caribbean hideout right in east Boca

HELLNAH. I’m from Miami, I was raised with real-life Jamaicans and have experienced legit Caribbean food — this isn’t it. Maybe this is watered down and made easy to process for Boca folks, but I was so disappointed with this joint. Our order was messed up, their burgers were clearly frozen patties and you couldn’t taste the mango whatever sauce they supposedly put on there. My friend’s BLT sandwich was terrible, she took one bite and that’s it. The jerk chicken was weak, rice was terrible(how do you mess up rice?) and they didn’t have yuca fries. The only decent thing were the friend plantains. I would not recommend this if you’re into real Jamaican food at all.

seems to be a hit or miss, i come here for work occasionally and have been here three times, the last two times were great, but this time the chicken was overly burnt, pitch black burnt. I would think the chef would notice this before dumping all this meat into the box. so here i am manually stripping away burnt scraps to eat a little bit of chicken.

I grabbed a quick curry goat, rice and peas, and plantain plate to go and I was more than pleased. The curry goat was seasoned nicely and the plantains were sweet. I’m happy I could get a little taste of home 1000s of miles away. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I plan on sitting down to enjoy my meal next time around. 5 stars!

This is a quiet cute tucked away spot in the heart of boca raton. We were greeted with warmth and sat right away. The server was attentive to our needs and brought out our drink orders almost immediately. I choose the jerk chicken, peas n rice with veggies. my other half choose the brown stewed chicken rice n peas with veggies(which is seasoned cabbage, carrot, onion). Presentation was on point however taste was well very basic nothing outstanding. It didn’t taste like real deal Jamaican cooking, it tasted like a watered down version with half the love and half the seasoning. It was edible but not particularly cravable. its not something we would go out of our way for. but if we were in the area once again then sure we might stop on in and get perhaps something different. I have heard that the wrap was good. Anywho as I said the service is excellent and its a nice chill vibe Inside.

That Jerk Chicken Sandwich on coca bread was fantastic. The décor and atmosphere is nice despite the small size of the place. I came in right before lunch and was the only one there for about 10 seconds before it got full.

The lighting is very minimal so it will appear closed even though it is actually open. Excellent jerk chicken, my host/the owner Sheila was amazing. Will be back very soon. The sauce is spicy so be sure to dip rather than pour it onto the food directly.

The food is good, but 9 times out of 10 they will mess up your order. They will add bacon even if you say no bacon(huge problem for non pork eaters). They will forget your meat patties even after you double check and ask if they were in the bag. They will not add avocado that supposed to be on the sandwich. And this is all on separate visits. So make sure you check your order before leaving the store. Don’t feel bad about doing that. Also asked them if they have«festival» available which is an item on their menu and was told she didn’t know what that is. Also the prices are way too high in my opinion but i guess they figure its«Boca». Its just really frustrating that a simple thing as ordering lunch for pick up always ends up being a mess.

The food is really good here and consistent. The jerk chicken sandwich is favorite, and I enjoy their platters and patties as well. The customer service could use a boost, but this place is definitely worth giving a try.

I am looking to have a major birthday party catered for my mother-in-law’s 90th!!! I wish it was easy. I have been to this restaurant several times but was disappointed more and more. The first experience was nostalgic and cool. The food is almost on point, really, it’s not bad. I ignored the fact that they don’t put coconut milk in the rice and peas. I ignored that they were ALWAYS out of whatever we wanted from the menu. By the next visit I could not ignore the rude waitress. I know, I get it. Service in Jamaica is very different from the states but we are customers in America. Go grocery shopping before putting things on the menu for supplies and hire some staff from Madagascar… anything but Jamaicans. My experience as a Jamaican would be one star but the food(when it’s there) get’s another star.

Even though I’m a much bigger fan of their other location a little more up north, this place is a lot closer and therefore more convenient. The jerk chicken always satisfies my cravings. The only problem here is that they’re out of oxtail 90% of the time I come, which is my first choice in the platter. Nonetheless, the curry goat does not disappoint when that is not an option.
