The Art of Shaving

Fantastic service. Their products are a bit over priced, but God damn will they give you the best haircut and shave you’ve ever had. I would highly recommend getting a shave from them if you haven’t yet.

Called Sunday to see if they were open though I suspected they weren’t. Left a message explaining I would like an appointment for a shave that day if they were open or Monday if they weren’t open Sunday. Nobody called me back so I came in on Monday to find out the guy who does the shaves doesn’t come in on Mondays. If they checked their messages and called back I may have been a happy customer on Wednesday when the shaves are offered. Instead they lost my current and future business by not having the customer service sense to call back someone who wanted to give them money. This happened 3÷28÷2016.

As you can see from my profile photo, as recently as May I had been going through life clean shaven. After letting my beard grow out to, as my cousin calls it, «Bilzerian proportions,» I went in to the Art of Shaving to come up with a new style. A coworker recommended it, so I thought why not. I had actually been in there once before to speak with George and purchase some beard oil to keep my facial hair soft and conditioned. George remembered me when I walked in, and he set me up for my first appointment with Nelson the barber. I actually did not know what to expect, but this place is an experience as much as it is a haircut and/​or beard trim. When I started talking about the style I was looking for with Nelson, I was really unsure as to which way to go. I wanted to keep it professional for work, but I still wanted to have some modern style to it. Nelson spent a full hour with me working on my beard, hair, massaging my face, alternating with hot and cold towels… the works. It was actually very relaxing. When it was over, I loved the way I looked, and I thought it was definitely worth the price. You don’t go here to «just get a haircut.» You come in for everything that comes with that haircut, and for the experience and skill of the barber. Thanks guys, I’ll see you next haircut!

I moved to Boca a few years ago and needed to find a new barber. I went to the Art of Shaving in the Town Center to restock some shaving supplies (my girlfriend had bought me a razor and shave kit as a gift), and found out they have an in-​house barber, so made an appointment.
Nelson, the master barber at this location, does an excellent job. I’m always happy with how my hair looks and wouldn’t go anywhere else. I would highly recommend him.

Growing up in New York I’ve always gone to traditional barbershops; the type you walk in, sit down & start BS’ing with the guys until you were next up. Back in the boroughs there are a lot of great shops, the idea of going into the mall for a cut was nonexistent. After moving to Boca Raton I struggled to find a great barber. I went through 4 different shops and none were able to even give me a decent shape. I saw The Art of Shaving at Boca Town Center and at the time had no idea there was a barber in the back. After looking them up online I learned they cut and I figured it was my last resort so I made an appointment with their barber Nelson; this was 4 years ago & I’ve been going ever since.
Nelson will LACE your cut! Great shape ups, fades, straight razor shave, the whole deal. This dude stays on top of his game & is really about what he does.
Nelson & The Art of Shaving have mastered their customer experience & have more than earned my business. You will pay more than your average cut here, but it’s well worth it.

If you are looking for an excellent barber in Boca Raton then you should go to The Art of Shaving and see Nelson. Nelson is genuinely concerned with you looking your best and he takes great pride in his work. He is very accommodating with regards to my busy schedule and making adjustments. Nelson has earned the title «Master Barber» and you would be wise to see him for a cut and a shave.

Nelson is the only barber at this location & that’s fine because no one else would even have a shot. He’s that good. Best haircuts, every-​time. Best experience. The staff in the retail section up front are professionals who know their product in a way the big box retailers typically do not. The whole experience is the way it used to be — which is a rarity. Run, don’t walk to this one!

Ridiculously priced.

I had a very good experience and would recommend it to anyone. Nelson was the barber that took care of me. He did very good job with the haircut but more than just a haircut it was an experience of that vintage barber shop couture salon fusion. There is only one barber chair and it seems appointment only unless no one is in the chair. It isn’t inexpensive and it’s rather pricey but for a true master barber experience maybe a once every couple of months thing it is well worth it. If you got the dough to do it more often I would recommend going often that’s how good they are.

I have visited every high end men’s barber shop in town. Art of Shaving is the most expensive, but the best in service, quality.
