I am a frequent fly by shopper at this Walgreens, the front counter and sales staff are very friendly(photo and cosmetology included), and they always say hello to my girls and me, as they have for years. The pharmacy, on the other hand, I have had my last experience with. It went to crap about a year ago in terms of customer service, but today was the end for me. I am b12 deficient, and have been for seven years due to an auto immune disease(all the while filling Rx’s for b12 serum for injection at this store), they would know this if they checked out my profile and scripts. Every time my husband has gone in there to get me syringes in the last several months, he was told they do not carry them, which is a blatant lie, it is where I have always purchased them. After I had two seizures last weekend due to infrequent shots because I had no syringes, he refused to back down and they sold him two. I went in to get more myself early in the morning today, and I too was questioned by the pharmacist. «What are you injecting?» I told her I needed 5 – 10 ml intramuscular syringes, anything more than that is none of her business. I do not care for the third degree, especially when in their computer they can pull up my records. I don’t want to be treated as an abuser of whatever drug she thinks I’m on. And again, not her business. I asked for five, she sold me three with no explanation. There used to be awesome Pharm Techs there that were so sweet and actually explained to me the different syringes/needles and what would be best for me because, believe it or not, injecting a needle into my leg isn’t the best part of my week. The Pharm Tech’s have gone down hill. There’s one really busy guy that used to be up front and nice, now he just runs around with eyes focused on meds, I respect that, but there’s also a girl that acts like she would rather be anywhere else but there. I was a Pharm Tech in college, but in a hospital where you only deal with doctors and nurses. If you choose to work in a community pharmacy, you need to have customer service. I take sick kids in and get all but ignored. I will be switching to a family owned pharmacy, they’re not open 24 hours a day, but it’s worth it to me for customer service.

This place saved our bacon while on vacation. My hub hurt himself pretty darned badly the week before our July 4 holiday. We weren’t sure how bad it was until we had started our trip. In pretty bad pain from the neck muscle injury, Hub was not enjoying his vacation at all. We ran over to Walgreens and got everything we needed to help him not hurt so badly, including a little portable TENS unit. That thing worked like a charm. We are very glad they were there and that the people working there were friendly and helpful.

Had a nice evening with the kids at the Don Strange Ranch seeing the lights! HOWEVER, Walgreens in Boerne is a different story! There is a advertisement on the Don Strange website that states if you buy your ticket in advance at Walgreens, you get $ 5 off. So, we reroute and stop by Walgreens. They charge me full price.($ 20) I bring this to their attention, I get attitude. I pay the $ 20 and then get on the website to confirm I should have paid $ 15 and I am correct. I call Walgreens and s/w Ed, the manager. He advises that I am the 2nd person today that was wrong and that $ 20 is the price. He advises that I must be «getting my information from the San Antonio Light» which has misprinted the information. I advised I got the information straight from the Don Strange website… and really?! SA Light?! ‘How ’bout the Express?! Sheesh… So, I get on the website and send a message to the event coordinator. I go through the motions like I’m going to buy a ticket for tonight and the total is… wait for it… $ 21.65(with tax). So, what was the benefit of buying from Walgreens and where is the promised savings?! We get to the ranch; I accidently meet the coordinator. She has already seen my inquiry on the website and not only gives me the $ 5, but also gives me a comp’ed ticket for another night! She advises me that this is the 2nd time today someone has gotten bad information/charged wrong by Boerne Walgreens… Makes one wonder how many people are getting ripped off there and not saying anything and how quickly that«extra» $ 5 will add up Walgreens’ pockets!

I have been using this Walgreen since I moved to Boerne 8 years ago. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I have never had any problems that were the staffs’ fault. A few times their fax machine hasn’t received refills from my doctors offices, both doctors have had this problem with their faxes not going through. I love that the pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, makes it very convenient to go late and avoid lines. Their Balance Rewards program is fantastic! I get alot of prescriptions each month and the points add up quickly. I just redeemed $ 35 worth of points online and my order was delivered in 2 days. I was able to get some Burt’s Bees products that stores no longer carry. Free and delivered to my front door, you can’t beat that! If you haven’t joined the Rewards program, go for it. It is free and you are basically getting free money each time you fill a prescription or buy certain products. **Added 1/15/14** I recently had photos developed at the store and using their mail order. The prints turned out wonderfully! I prefer the mail order because I like matte photos, plus they are cheaper, but they take a while. So if you are in a hurry and like glossy prints, go with the store. **Added 7/11/14** This addition has nothing to do with this particular Walgreens location, this is about the new system that has been added since Walgreens was sold to a new company. There are a few problems . First, the refill system is completely screwed up, my doctors’ offices are not getting the refill requests. I have been having to call my doctors’ offices directly to get refills done correctly. Twice now I have had to go through particularly nasty withdrawals for the same medications, two months in a row. My doctor had no idea that I had requested refills, Walgreens supposedly faxed them three times, none were received by the doctor. Second, There is no way to contact the pharmacists at this location, all calls are now answered by a call center. So there is no way to talk to the people that I have been dealing with and that have known me for years. Third, the new phone system takes forever to navigate, what used to take a minute now takes over five minutes. Don’t bother calling Walgreens for refills that require doctors’ approvals, call the doctors’ offices directly, otherwise you might never get the medications.

Just stared using this Walgreens, I’m glad I didn’t read there only review first. I love the staff. They have gone out of their way to help me fill problem scripts. They are always friendly.

I filled a generic script there that the insurance would not cover. I went because it is the closest pharmacy. It was litteraly twice the price of costco, $ 31 in costco, $ 63 in walgreens. Never going back.

Walgreens in Boerne when it opened a few years ago was top notch. 1st I stopped getting my rx’s filled there because they were so hateful to me and my family and then when they redused a woman to tears in front of me in line I stopped getting any filled there. I still shoped there until recently. I went in the other day and when I got up to the checker and had EVERYTHING out she told me to go to cosmetics because I had a 2.00 powder puff and they got commision. I told her no and that is when she got really rude. It ended with her shouting at me she was not rude and throwing the pen and receipt at me. I asked if she was going to throw the merchandise as I would move as it would hurt. Then my mom went in yesterday and the clerk did not use her coupon and when she told him he spent 5 minutes looking it up. He was so concerned with a man using the Walgreen phone getting directions he paid little attention to her. Then overcharged her for something else. When she went back to get her money back, an assistant manager gave her a long lecture and it ended with my mom yelling at her to give her the money back. So, we are done. I used to spend a couple of hundred a month here, but no more. CVSPLEASE come to Boerne. Walgreens needs new management or to train their employees in customer service.
