Can I give a negative star? New owners apparently. I went in for a simple take out order for lunch and have brought it back 3 times for being incorrect. The final straw were nachos with no cheese??? And a chicken burrito with rice and lettuce, no pico, no cheese no tomato, nothing else. The menu doesn’t offer lettuce in a burrito. I wish them well, they have taken a successful business and lost a customer that has been eating there for over a decade. SAD!!!

Ever since they changed owners they have not gotten my order right once. They have two burritos(original and grilled) one with beans and pico amung other things, another with rice, cheese, and sour cream. They constantly mix these up… I have waited 15 minutes in an essentially empty store for my food and had to be asked for my receipt to see what I ordered. Those of us with half hour lunch breaks are cringing right now. I am sorry, but I will never go here again.

I tried to order a grilled chicken quesidilla over the phone to pick up for lunch. What an ordeal. I tried calling several times and it was busy. Which is understandable because it’s lunch time. However once I got through I spoke to someone who had no clue what I was saying. She kept telling me one minute. I was on hold for 10 minutes and another guy picks up asks me if I want it delivered and I say no and he says hold on. The other lady comes back on after waiting again and then she just keeps saying chicken over and over then tells me to hold on again. Another guy gets on the phone and asks again about delivery. I just want to pick up a chicken quesidilla that’s it. He tells me 25 minutes. Having only a half hour for lunch I said never mind. What a waste of time.

A co worker brought me here for some«good» mexican food. After I ordered, gave them my card to pay, and they told me they will not let me pay since it is under 10 dollars, I asked kindly If I can. just this time(since I had no cash) They told me «No go get some sodas or waters to make it more then 10 $» I said I do not want any soda or water(as i am a single mom on a tight budget) I don’t see what the huge problem was. So I told them to cancel my order. then a customer offered me a few dollars to make it so I can have my meal and be able to pay and cash. The people who worked the cashier were very unfriendly. When i got back to work to eat my food. it was horrible, extremely bland with a bunch of jalepenos not to mention a huge stomach ache and nausea. No thanks

If I could give 0 stars I would. I ordered a chicken quesadilla from here and bit into a rock that almost cracked my whole tooth off. When I called no one answered the phone & I had to call 5 times to get in touch with someone there. I will never step foot in this place again!

I don’t get it. Everything I call here there’s no answer or they pick up the phone and hang up. What are their hours of operation? Maybe I call to order when they are closed? Are they a lunch only kind of place? Do they close at 5:00 pm? I just don’t get it. Very Difficult to get in touch with. 7:30PM same day OKAY! Just got back from Cal. Cactus. I hadn’t remembered the name of this place but when we pulled up I remembered that we are here quite a few times but hadn’t come in about 4 years. I was very excited because as I remembered the food her was delicious! HOWEVER, delicious was far from what I got! The meals we received were disgusting! The meat tasted chalky and burned. Almost like they used it yesterday and reheated it again today! The spices taste dollar store quality! I’m dying of heartburn as I write this. The burrito’s were dry and over spiced with no cheese, a ½ teaspoon of sour cream, no beans just basically meat and rice wrapped in a flour tortilla! You can’t even say anything to the people behind the counter because they speak little to no English! Absolutely the WORST food I’ve had in a very long time! Far FAR from the quality and taste it once had. Now I see why so many people eat at Moe’s or Chipotle! I won’t even get into the pricing! Let’s just say we could have eaten at Chipotle and had 3FULLYLOADED burritos, and walked away with left-overs. The burritos we had at California Cactus were no bigger than the XXLGRILLEDSTEAKBURRITO at Taco Bell! These two things cost us $ 30 bucks and we’re still hungry! WEWILLNEVERGOBACK!

Excellent food. Nice people. A definite must. They even had a brownie which was peanut butter had to be the best brownie ever. There food is authentic prices low and convenient to my location. I’d go back a million times.

I had a grilled chicken burrito, which was tasty enough though not worth the $ 9.00 i paid. Very short on chicken, to the point that three bites in i still had not tasted any. Throw in the fact they have no homemade salsa and you have meritocracy. Not a good value.

First time going here, wish I knew about this place sooner because the food is fresh and well prepared. I got a portabella chicken grilled wrap and it was delicious. Its not often you can eat mexican and actually feel like you ate healthy! I’ll be back again

Anywhere else this place gets three stars… but in Bohemia, four stars baby! This is my go to spot in the area when I forget to pack a lunch. It really the only place around where you can get reasonably healthy food, prepared right in front of you. I agree that some items are somewhat bland. But if you want to eat a healthyish lunch, you wont do any better than here(at least in the local area)

It’s a nice place that’s kept clean and the quality of food is fresh, the prices for the amount of good you get is better than most restaurants like this specially with the variety that they give you.

This is the type of spot where doing a little research will pay off. Certain items on the menu are pretty good — not superfantastic, but decent, filling, standard Mexican fare. Stick to the burritos and grilled wraps. And avoid«enchilada style» it’s literally jar spaghetti sauce — unintentional fusion, didn’t work. The crunchy items were very greasy — tortilla chips and hard taco shells were glistening, not in a good way. It’s clean enough, and the wait for a takeout order for four peeps wasn’t bad, about 20min(which can be spent next door at the reflexology place getting a 15min back rub — not bad!) They didn’t have a menu avail online, so I posted a pic of one. Like I said, this place has a few decent items, just be sure to avoid the pitfalls. Prices are pretty good too, if you skip the sides and add-ons.

Great food! Love their quacamole and veggie bowls! Everything tastes so fresh! I generally order to pick up or have it delivered. Everyone is very nice and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I have ordered from there quite a few times and have not been disappointed!

Been here twice. First time I don’t know what it was but the food was just not good. The second time I was here I couldn’t believe it was the same place, the tacos I got were delicious. I’m giving this place 3 stars for now until I go again to see if maybe my first experience was just bad day.

Actual well-cooked beans, not over-spiced bean slurry! As a vegetarian I’ve been to the local Mexican restaurants and this is the best Mexican take-out option in the area. Fresh with generious portions. There’s an interesting attempt at décor and you can sit, usually a nice latino music selection playing in the background. BUT I grab and go and enjoy at home!

I work in Bohemia so I come here often on my lunch hour. I have started to eat more Mexican food because it is delicious and healthy. They make very good wraps and burritos, there are no bowls on the menu like you would see at a Chipotle. Tacos, enchiladas, chips and salsa, etc. They do have some good veggie options as well. My favorites are the Santa Fe Wrap and Grilled Portabella Mushroom wrap. For $ 6.95 you get a grande burrito that will definitely fill you up. They are very fast, even when it is busy, and all the food is made fresh and wrapped tightly. I love this place, a big fan for a healthy lunch. Their cash register says $ 10 minimum purchase to use a credit/debit card, but I have never had a problem paying for a meal with it.

Mexican I have driven past this place for over a year and one of the guys at my job is always talking about it — so looking for something different to try, I decided to hit it. There are other, similar places like California Cactus Café in NY so I had a good idea of what to expect in terms of offerings. I was pleasantly surprised when I hit the place that the food was all being prepared fresh and the time from order to walking out was quick — which is always essential when you are on a lunch hour. The menu was extensive and there were a lot of my favorites on there. Not the Jalisco style of Mexican I prefer, but then again I want to be slugging margaritas when eating that style of cooking. This was more along the lines of burritos, salads and wraps. I scored me a veggie burrito and I especially loved that you can get it in poco or grande sizes — poco is perfecto in that it was the perfect size for a lunch without leaving you like a bloated gordito… The damn burrito was just perfectly seasoned and although I took it go, I will definitely be going back there to sit and eat. There are plenty of tables for those of you who want to eat in and the people that work there are all smiles and seem to love their jobs — very nice! Prices are very good — basically in line with the area and you will most likely have leftovers — unless you are a piggy. The only thing I am going to sort of disagree with is that they have a few references to the food being«healthy» and while I will give you that it is probably light years better than drive through burgers, I think the healthy moniker is stretching it a bit — I have a hard time equating a cheese loaded quesadilla with healthy, for example. All in all a solid 3 stars and something you should try just to break the usual lunch time habit. Parking in front.
