WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Bought a climbing device, nobody in store could show me how to use it… went home and tried to figure it out myself to no avail… brought it back next day (never used) was told no returns… period! Was treated rude and when I mentioned maybe someone should mention this was told «I should have known».really…ok was raised to always, when possible, to shop locally, from locally owned merchants… this kind of customer service is why REI will always be around, excellent customer service is key to survival in this internet age. Climbers are a close knit community, I will go out of my way to share my experience with this store!

Love this store. Great location, quality goods, awesome deals on close outs and end of season gear.
I really appreciate a business trying to appeal to a market that goes beyond the ABC retailers and .coms.
Staff is patient and very helpful. Love that they also don’t mind at all that sometimes you just want to look.

Seems like nice quality stuff so far but it’s a bit over priced and they don’t price match. From now on I’ll come here to do my browsing and then buy it online.

This place is completely unethical! My wife bought me a shirt on sale that just wasn’t a good fit for me. The next day I went to return it only to find out that they refuse to give money back on sale items. There are a couple of small handwritten signs that tell you this, but honestly, how many people read all the signs hanging in a store. No one told my wife about this policy, she was just supposed to read everything in the store to know that. Beware the fine print of their low budget signs.
I will be spreading the word to everyone I can about how this local business screws people over. I would feel so underhanded and low if did something like that to a customer. The shirt only cost $ 50 but their unethical business practices have just cost them much more than that.

I tried to buy a replacement ceramic water filter here but the clerk who took my call had the listening skills of Dora the fish from Finding Nemo. «YES a ‘Mini’ filter, for the 5th time!». Small local stores are supposed to have the best service. That is definitely the case with a place like Greenwoods. I would love to shop at the Benchmark but not if their staff can’t communicate.

Best place to go in Boise for high-​end outdoor gear (hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, skiing/​snowboarding, kayaking). Brands like The North Face, Prana, Arcteryx, Kavu, Patagonia, Moonstone, Ruff Wear, Marmont, Kuhl. Great service, local owners and super sales for existing customers. Conveniently located on Vista away from the mall and downtown!
