I was visiting Boise for a long weekend and I stopped by this store looking for affordable local art. There stole itself is cute and fun to wander. There owner read there, and she told me about the artists whose work they sell, many of whom are local. In the end, I found three small pieces, all under twenty dollars. There owner even gave me a free poster things to use, so I know they will survive there flight home. Take there time to check out this shop.

I don’t want to give Bricolage three stars because I want people to patron this place, it’s a great little store! If I lived here, I’m sure I would take the classes they offer. They seem really fun. I went in looking for some locally made«thank you» gifts for our neighbors who are watching our home while we’ve been away on a road trip. While there were some Idaho themed items(ie. T-shirts, tchotchkes, handmade jewelry etc), I wish there had been more – maybe even the entire store – locally made items. It wasn’t until later, I realized that only three of the ten cards I purchased were Boise made. The«Lucky Gardeners Bandana» was made in Portland, OR. Sure, I could have checked to make sure I only bought Boise made items, my bad. Ug. I wish the brown paper bag my items were placed in had a Bricolage stamp or some kind of advertising on it, to complete the experience. I want to feel good about supporting local artists when I visit a town. Yes, I have high expectations. In the end, whether I give it three or four stars, it is worth a visit. Side note, they have a great section with baby clothes and fun things to get for a new mom/baby shower.

I had been on the hunt for some great, locally made stationary. Stepping into Bricolage, I knew I’d found precisely the place I’d been searching for. So much cool in one little place! They have a variety of fun, quirky items and are definitely worth a peruse. Give yourself some time, though. I walked in, thinking I’d seek out the stationary find, or not find, what I was looking for and be done in a few minutes time. But, I simply couldn’t resist wandering and looking at everything they have in stock. Which includes(but is certainly not limited to!): –A fun supply of local, printed tees –Candles –Stamping supplies –Stationary –Local Art(illuminated, Idaho shaped, wood art? Yes please!) –Gift wrap I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for with some great stationary designed in house, and printed on recycled paper in Boise. Yes! Plus, some cute little stickers to use as seals. Annnd… a «Reading is Sexy» sticker for my laptop(because, it is, people… reading IS sexy!). Plus – they have a check-in offer and Unilocal deal! Get to it!

Love the selection of letterpress cards and handmade jewelry. Not to mention all of the great local art on showcase.

What a wonderful store with such a fun, funky atmosphere! I took a sewing class here yesterday, and I’m *SO* glad I did! Chelsea was such a delightful teacher and gracious hostess, and teacher Grant was awesome too. They took a scary machine and made it so easy. They really taught me how to use the sewing machine, rather than just letting me watch someone use it. Before class and during a break, I had a few minutes to walk around the store and I have a wish list a mile long! Such cute clothes, accessories, jewelry and other random pieces… total eye candy! Looking forward to shopping here more often, and definitely taking another class or two from Chelsea.

I always tell Boise visitors to stop here. Shopping for a friend or for you, this place has so many one-of-a-kind items that are each so beautiful in their own way. I especially love their witty cards, the art displays which change artists monthly, and those stinkin’ rad Idaho tee-shirts.(I got one of the state of Idaho, with rabbits inside the state.) That, and all the random goodies that pop up. I’ve been drooling over those little bike bags for some time. I also love how locally-conscious the owners are! These ladies are all about pushing Boise forward in the art and music scene, and have the same hopes as I that Boise can be so much more! It’s wonderful to support the Bricolage team, the artists that carry items in their shop… and everything in between! Stop by!

Great fun funky store with lots of unique gifts. Very friendly staff. Nice to see locally owned and managed boutiques in the world of chain stores. I found so many fun things for gifts that hadnt seen elsewhere.
