We came from S Korea. Growing up with Sushi and fresh fishes. Fujiyama Sushi, always have freshest and best quality food. Our family and friends just love Fujiyama’s food! Service is consistently-excellent!!!

We love to go eat lunch on Saturdays because they have incredible pricing on their bento boxes. These boxes are packed with great stuff. I always get chicken katsu, two spring rolls, rice, and a California roll. Not to mention that they bring out miso soup and a salad to get things started. I have also tried their sushi, sashimi, and shrimp tempura bento boxes. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially families because of the affordability. The staff is incredibly nice and always hospitable.

My favorite sushi place, if we want the expensive & fancy ones. They have the yummiest rolls & love their presentations. Place is tight sometimes & always full when we go, but the waiting time is not so bad. We would go here always if we haven’t found out that all you can eat sushi exists haha.

Nice to have a consistent Japanese restaurant here in Boise. This is a go to place for some good sushi and other dishes such as bento, udon, and age tofu. You won’t find it to be your super fancy inside although it does have a few tatami rooms I think. If you’re super into animé or Japanese based games/cartoons there is a shop next door. Overall good experience every visit.

disappointing. walked in and the strip mall sized joint was cozey and well decorated. if u sit behind the soji screens in the private booths the waitress will set the food outside on the rail until all the dishes are collectively ready. this will give the hot food time to cool down to a modest look warm temp. also, due to the close proximity of that rail and several tables on the adjacent side, you might be lucky enough to find a stray hair from another patron leaning their head next to the rail. the sushi was suboptimal. fishy and limp texture. I was turned off by the texture and smell. the udon noodles were appropriate, but the broth tasted like soot and warm water. I’ve had better instant udon from Winco won’t be returning

This is my family’s go-to place for sushi. We always order the same thing here; our order is: salmon skin salad, signature poki, age tofu & the love boat. Tonight was a little bit of a disappointment; it took a while for us to be seated & to have our love boat delivered. I hope it’s just one of their«off nights», other wise their food was good.

Sushi was very fishy, did not seem fresh. Spicy tuna had an odd taste to it. We had three rolls, had to take the salmon out of the nuruto roll it was so fishy, made the whole roll not edible. We did not try any cooked food, if you end up here, try that instead maybe it will be better than the raw stuff. Service was good but I don’t think anything can make up for the not fresh taste. Would not return, terribly misled by the 4 start review — we expected some very fresh and tasty rolls for $ 15 a roll. I’m thinking of giving up the search for good fish in Idaho.

Great place to go :) This restaurant has loads of variety and the chefs are well mannered and quiet, main chef Jess… Jake… J something is awesome(late 20’s early 30’s, black ear piercing on his left ear can’t miss him) gone twice both times I’ve sat at the bar and he’s served me, his art at preparing my meals has been just amazing. Fish is fresh, Miso soup is good(didn’t think I would like Tofu but it’s not to bad) Garden salad is good. If you are on a budget I suggest going in at lunch time, the lunch specials are way cheaper and you get a lot, I suggest the Fugi B its 13pc’s and you get Miso Soup and a Garden salad very filling.

+1 for having Tiger beer. +1 for execution of rolls(very little rice). +1 for pepper tuna tataki. +1 for Smoked shrimp tempura roll. +1 for the extensive menu. +1 for friendly servers and sushi chefs. +1 for great ambiance and décor. –1 for freshness of fish or rather, lack thereof. –1 for awkward service after the check came to the table(I guess I wanted to get the bum’s rush out the door?). –1 for bringing a very average appetizer to the table when the main entrees were nearly finished. Discounting all the weird service issues, I would probably go again, but not until I’d tried a few others, given the quality of sushi vs. the cost of it. This is definitely on the high side of prices and the value just wasn’t quite there.

Not the grade A sushi place but pretty mix with American style sushi. The menu has a lot of option to choose from. Chief and waitress are friendly. Hopefully i get to eat inside the little cubicle guest room next time.

This is a strip-mall gem, excellent sushi where you least expect it. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The chirashi was very very good, the fish was fresh and all the rolls were excellent. When we arrived we were the only customers in the restaurant, so you would expect extra attentiveness. Even being the only people there we had to flag down the waitress to get our order, on several occasions our beverages were empty and not refilled.

I’ve never been to Fujiyama for dinner, but I’ve been there plenty of times for lunch. In my opinion, their Lunch Boxes are a fantastic deal for the price. It’s my go-to whenever I go there. The service does leave something to be desired. Like another reviewer said, the wait staff, specifically the hostess, seems put out to get you to a table, or take your check. Most of the actual wait staff is better, but none of them are exactly warm and inviting. That said, good food, in and out in under an hour, and a pretty nice atmosphere. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.

Still in search of California quality sushi, my hubby and I gave this restaurant a go. Sign on their door said they were voted one of «Boise’s Best.» Honestly, if Boise has voted them«The Best» I am really bummed to know I will never find truly good sushi in the Treasure Valley. Service really left something to be desired. The restaurant was not very busy for a Saturday evening, allowing the servers to stand towards the kitchen doors in a little gaggle, staring off into space. I ran out of tea and waited patiently… another server happening to walk by noticed the empty cup I pushed to the edge of the table and refilled. Our server still standing with the others staring off into space. When we ordered I asked our server about the specials listed on their board. Mainly, I was curious what made them the specials since the exact same items for the exact same price were listed in the menu. She was so confused by my question and responded with a remark about how they don’t really update the specials very often. The sushi was presented nicely and the pieces were well proportioned. I was impressed at how many rolls offered the inclusion of unagi and tobiko; as I love both. However the flavors were lacking something and the price per roll, in my opinion, was steep. Four rolls, one green tea, and one sake for $ 75…yeah not worth it. And with that… my quest I suppose shall continue on… as I don’t foresee a good reason to come back.

I’ve been frequenting Fujiyama for a good decade now. I’m on the lookout for new sushi spots to check out but always find myself back here because of the fresh fish, non-fishy taste and good service. What else is there when it comes to eating good fish. I’m super into the Kani Salad, Snowball, Fuji Mountain Roll, Spicy Girl and all nigiri. If you want a good experience eating sushi where there is slim pickings check out the yama!

Hands-Down the BEST sushi here in Boise! The Fuji Mountain roll has delicious tempura shrimp and snow crab. Did you know this is the only restaurant in Boise that serves snow crab? YUM. I try to change my rolls every time I come here and haven’t been let down once. The last roll I had was the spicy yellowtail and OHMYG. it was melt-in-your-mouth good!!! I’m craving it right now as I type up this review. I love the ambiance of Fuji, it is very intimate and it is great for date night. In fact, I might even suggest it tonight. It is also open until 10 pm. YUSSS, late night sushi snack. Next time you want to impress someone with your sushi taste, take ‘em here. It’s all good. Go.

I’m not normally big on strip mall experiences but they really did a decent job with this little place. Fairly quiet and ok vibe until the babies arrived… Now the eats… First strike… Iceberg lettuce. It wasn’t very good. I’d have hoped for at least romain. The Hawaiian poke was awesome but the rolls were unremarkable. They were good but nothin special. The tuna handroll was however very good especially if ordered with extra crunch and nori. Overall, a good experience but it didn’t knock my tits off. Probably a 3.5 stars but not a 4.

Okay, we have a favorite sushi place but received a gift certificate so we tried it out! We arrived hour before closing & it was very busy but great service! We enjoyed the Luck Luck & the Boise rolls. The others, okay, The Eastern Dragon, Black Dragon & Godzilla were okay. .little sloppy to eat with avocado & quite a bit of sauce on top, kinda all tasted the same, little mushy. The tempura was fried nicely though..
