I hadn’t been to KFC for a couple of years, there aren’t many of them in the Boise area anymore. Unilocal directed me to this location while I was on my way home from work. My husband worked for KFC for a number of years(in Ontario OR) and is NOT a fan of chicken(on the bone at least), nor does he like coleslaw– but I was REALLY hankering for some KFC so I went to nab some. This location is one of those ‘hybrids’. housing both KFC and A&W. I used the drive thru. The menu board is well laid out and easy to ready. When greeted I told the server I needed a moment, and there was no pressure. I ordered an eight piece meal that included chicken, coleslaw, potatoes/gravy and biscuits. I went with Original recipe. It’s no secret that KFC is NOT good for you, it’s heavy with salt, carbs and fat. It’s fast food and junk food and not something most people would consider a treat. It’s certainly nothing I’d eat on a regular basis. That being said. I have to say that our meal was all we’d hoped it would be. hot, tasty and convenient COMFORT food. I paid a bit extra for all legs and breasts in our chicken bucket — it’s nice to be able to customize. Things were a little slow when I got to the pick up window, I’m not sure if they were short staffed, it didn’t seem terribly busy– but you know, we expect things in a heartbeat these days and sometimes we just need to breathe and enjoy the moment. As I sat in my car on a rainy Friday evening, just grateful to be able to pick up some dinner on the way home. The server who helped me was kind and personable, the food was hot and properly prepared– which to me makes for a good visit to a restaurant I’d go back to again, next time the urge hits me.

Pretty clean place and a short drive from Micron. Now KFC got this grilled chicken thing, it makes me feel better when I eat their chicken. And since this is a KFC and A&W partner, I get to drink the root beer right out of the tap. They also have a drive thru which is pretty cool. Now I think back, age 21 was like a barrier for me, I went from craving fried chicken every week to not wanting it that much, just feel like my body can’t process that much fat and grease anymore, maybe that is a good thing.
