Overland Bar

Inexpensive domestic brews, lots of laughter, a pool table in the back, and a lifetime of history on the walls; that’s what defines a great «dive» bar. Oh sure, if you’re wanting microbrews and quiet sophisticated atmosphere then this is not the bar for you. But if what you’re wanting is a great place for hanging with friends, meeting friendly people, and not breaking the bank while you do so, then the Overland Bar is the place to «dive» in. :)

A cheap hole in the wall with only three beers on tap. Two of those are Bud and Coors, with one rotating between alternative domestic and macrobrew. Definitely serves the Walmart crowd. Felt like a bar brawl was going to break out at any time.

This is definitely the place to go for outstanding service, $ 1 drafts and fun crowd! Never a dull moment the Overland Bar is filled with many smiles and lots of laughter!

It should be noted before you read any further that I’m a very, very big fan of dive bars. With that in mind, you’ll find that I’ll give glowing remarks for… odd features. So, without further ado:
The Overland Bar is aptly named, sitting directly off of Overland (as does the Vista Bar, Broadway Bar, etc etc). It’s a dimly lit, cash only establishment with karaōke, pool, and shuffleboard available as entertainment. It isn’t a large bar, but the size lends to its sense of intimacy.
The locals (including myself) are friendly and most often several Amberbock’s deep when you meet them. The most unique aspect of the Overland Bar though, and what sets it apart from other drinking holes in the area, are the velvet paintings of topless women residing on each side of the bar. Classic. Wonderful. High-​five.
I knocked one star off for the lack of credit card payment. I understand it costs money to process credit/​debit cards, but it’s 2015 and I almost never carry cash. There is an ATM inside, however.

My dive bar of choice in the Gem State. $ 1 beers.
