Great lattes. Good early bird breakfast sandwich special with latte 8 to 11AM. Tasty pastries and homemade syrups. Owner is extremely pleasant. Open until 1PM seven days a week. Sure the hours could be better but this is a one person business so I for one am willing to give her a break. Corner of Whitehead and Hill Road nestled in next to Ginzel.

Cozy little place with six seats. Very friendly and the breakfast sandwich(toasted English muffin, baked egg, black pepper cream cheese and two slices of Canadian bacon) was one of the best I’ve had. Added a thick slice of pumpkin loaf(of course) with a struesel topping. Moist and flavorful. Want to try their pecan pie bar and sour cream and walnut coffee cake next time.

Outstanding baked goods and never a botched latte — great place to stop after dropping the kids off at school(Collister and Hillside)

Awesome coffee and baked goods. The owner is very sweet. Must go and try it if you haven’t. Salted caramel latte & the dark chocolate mocha are so good. Had the best maple bar I’ve ever eaten. Not to be missed! Forget Starbucks… GOTOTHEOWL!!!

I love supporting local businesses, but my experience with this one hasn’t been as outstanding as I might have hoped. Cheerful, cozy décor and friendly service are the definite positives. I can tell that the owner is really giving this her best shot, and I hope she will be successful. The specialty drinks are good, but nothing special. The pastries are somewhat better than what you will find at big chain coffee shops. The ginger molasses cookies are quite addictive, and the hot pocket that I got for lunch one day(can’t remember what its exact name was) was also very good. However, the chocolate chip cookies were pretty«meh.» The biggest negative is the brief, inconsistent hours this place is open– a big pain for potential customers! Hours aren’t posted in a way that is visible to people who are driving by on Hill Road, so if you drive by when it’s closed(and it usually is!), you won’t be able to easily learn what hours to try to catch it open. I actually tried to stop here so many times that I had decided they must have gone out of business before finally managing to catch them open! Owl Tree should consider opening early enough for people to be able to stop in on their way to work. Around 7:00, traffic on Hill Road is usually a solid queue of morning commuters, but Owl tree isn’t yet open. Likewise, although Hillside Junior High is nearby, Owl Tree isn’t open early enough for parents or teachers to be able to stop by on their way to school, or consistently open late enough for a quick after-school snack. Update: Just took off another star, because I tried to stop by again on a Tuesday at 2:30, and it was one of the days that they close early. I’ve just had enough of the annoyance of never being able to remember when they are open and when they aren’t, so this was my last attempt. Post-Update: Aargh. .. okay, call me an idiot, but it had been a few months, and I got a hankering for one of those cookies, so, even though I knew I shouldn’t, I gave in and drove over there once again. This was a Monday, when I had gotten off work early. Well, apparently they’ve changed their hours yet again, so now they close every day at 1:00. I arrived at 1:20 p.m., and they were closed. Of course! At least the current hours make much more sense and are more consistent than the old ones(and the ones before that), but. .. seriously, I give up!!!

Very cute little coffee shop and bakery nestled against the foothills on Hill Road. They even hand make the chocolate fir the mochas and the chai tea. My wife and I loved both. The black tea spiced chai might start a little sweet for some, but the incredibly friendly and personalized service would be more than willing to adjust it to your liking. My wife’s favorite chai of all time – the foam with cinnamon was a treat all by itself. Basket items were delicious too. Kid loved the chocolate chip pumpkin bread along with his strawberry lemonade. Not a lot of seating, but has a comfy loft with a sofa and a couple of great chairs, plus Wi-Fi. Will definitely return fir the quiet atmosphere, great food and drink, and super friendly, personalized service.
