All to-go: 2 sausage & garlic pizzas; ½ roasted garlic chix w/Rosemary roasters & special sauce; bubble bread. Thought I’d died & gone to heaven when at home! Don’t miss this place, run by young people that know what they’re doin’!

Won’t go back. We were the only two in the whole place and it took us 25 minutes to get our food. The owner and I talked at length about the gluten free crust, he then proceeded to forget to put it on the order so it came on a regular crust. He knew it was our first time. You’d think there would be a little more effort involved to get repeat business. If you’re gluten free, I suggest you go elsewhere(Flatbread is my favorite). The crust tastes like bland corn bread. I omitted mozzarella and spinach(which they don’t credit you for) but charge you when you order extra toppings in their place. The sauce was«eh», the goat cheese was sparse and the artichoke hearts were sliced so thin that I couldn’t even see them(I actually walked up to the chef and asked him to fix the order). This terrible pizza costs nearly $ 22! The owner never came back out to apologize. Poorly run, our food, creepy atmosphere. Bummer.

Don’t miss this treasure. Fooled by the logo into thinking this isn’t the unique, amazingly foodie worthy establishment that it is… As if the chicken wasn’t good enough the delicately herb and oil roasted wedges are topped only by that crazy good green salad. You will be impressed ~ so many salads in one! Felt like I was outside Whistler. The chef/cook, the owner’s daughter, the fellow patrons are all part of this local gem. Take your friends and they’ll thank you. Rockin nice patio under the trees too!

My family and I walked through the doors for the first time this evening and were greeted with smiles and a very warm atmosphere! The waiter was AMAZING! He made sure our kids were taken care of and entertained I think they carried on more conversation with the waiter than we did as adults! The best restaurant experience I have ever had here in Boise! The food was amazing and the waiter even got our kids’ food started while we decided what to order. We used to go to another restaurant regularly for our family dinners. Smoky Mountain Pizzeria has stolen our hearts and officially become our new regular place to visit!!! Thank you so much to the staff for making what was a pretty terrible night turn out amazing!

Took my wife out to dinner on a Friday night. Well we should have walked out when we walked in, what a dump. This was the worst food ever and the drinks were self serve. I will never send friends or family to this place. I have had better lasagna fro a the freezer.

Best place in town for pizza and the garlic chicken is unreal. Wandering Wednesday is a must! All you can eat slices of pizza that the chef concocts on the spot… Hand tossed dough and toppings you couldn’t imagine yourself! Kudos to Brad and the staff… Family run and don’t miss the Live Music on Fridays.

What a disappointment. Our first time ordering after just moving to Boise. We had half a chicken and rosemary potatoes along with pizza. The order showed up fast within 30 min. The pizza box was crushed in the center due to the chicken sitting on top. Half the toppings came off when the box was opened. The crust was mushy soft and completely floppy and sloppy. Threw it out. Chicken and potatoes could not have been drier no flavor what so ever. Lesson learned. Never again!

Unfortunately, my expectations were much higher than reality. The younger gentleman and the older woman were great. Very friendly and helpful. We ordered jalapeño poppers, blackened chicken bites, bucket of ceasar salad and two orders of the bubble bread for appetizers. The bubble bread was good but we realized that each order was a SINGLE piece of bread cut into 3 strips. For $ 6, that is crazy. The ceasar was not good either. Way to much mayonnaise and no flavors at all… other than mayonnaise. The jalapeño poppers wer crazy spicy because they remove NO seeds. Prepare for fully loaded and lips burning. Lastly, the blackened chicken was 6 little pieces of terrible tasting, paprika smothered chicken. Taste like a powder not a flavorful blackening with butter etc. After that came the pizza. This is the only reason it is not a 1 star. Pizza was actually pretty good. Meats were freshly made and very tasty. In closing, go for the pizza but nothing else.

Awesome. Friendly from the moment we walked in. The owner took the time to explain the whole menu to us and another few ladies that had walked in before us to make sure we knew what we wanted. My mother and I ordered the Mediterranean Madness pizza with kalamata olives on half, half a garlic roasted chicken with rosemary roasted potato wedges, and they also have beer on tap(score)! The food came out fairly quickly, but they had accidentally put olives on the whole pizza! No big deal, right? They were super apologetic, and gave us FREE, fresh homemade key lime cheesecake with what seemed like an almond crust. It was… amazing. Everything we ordered tasted delicious. The pizza crust was crisp, the sauce was perfect and tangy, and the artichokes, which they prepare themselves(he explained the process to me) were delicious on the pizza. The chicken was garlicky and the potatoes came with a fry sauce that tasted like it had a hint of horseradish. I can’t recommend them enough for their superior food and service.

We saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and while visiting friends in Boise and made SURE to go there! We were NOT disappointed! Wow… the spring green salad has SO many surprises in it, it’s almost sensory overload… in a GOOD way :-} Great meeting Brad(the owner) and his wonderful family too… they are really fun and down-to-earth! It was our last place to stop before we went back home to San Diego… we only WISH we had a place like this there too! The flavors are too amazing to describe! What a pleasant surprise:-)

We saw this place featured on the Food Network right after we moved to Boise, and decided to give it a try. The interior is kind of hippy-ish, straight out of the ‘60s or ‘70s, but that’s what makes it fun! The Bubble Bread is AWESOME… My favorite thing there. The Bucket of Caesar is also really good, along with the ‘Big Effen Pie’. We’ll be back!

We walked in and walked right back out! The front of the building is a mess, you walk in to signs telling you where to go to get help, and it stunk! This was our first and last time to try this place. We do NOT recommend it!

Quirky little joint. The pizza earns it three stars. The salad has too much going on and too expensive. Just wanted some greens and Ranch. The owner playing some blues is a nice touch. The poppers were kicken hot. Yum yum. The service is weird but works. The bartender, which was probably the owners mom, was slow and short. Terrible multitasker for a Friday night. We had to hunt down the desert we paid for in advance as well. All and all just Ok, but will try it again when the patio opens.

Still my favorite local flare go to place. Feels like cheers here. Pizza is out of this world. You have to try the Smoked salmon and capers pizza. Want variety hit a Wednesday night wandering from 6pm to 8pm. They bring differ types of pizza around to try. Great wine and beer on tap. A MUSTVISIT location.

My first time in and I had the look of «so how does this place work?» Do you grab slice or order or what? Well I was quickly greeted and explained. If I wanted to go then they make the pizza made to order. Nice. I got the 10 – 12 inch pie with mushrooms, spinach and goat cheese. Took it home(I had errands to run) oh and I got their homemade ranch. I heated the pizza up on the stove(recommended by staff and found the video on youtube) Oh yum. Crisp crust and delicious seasoned mushroom. The ranch should be made illegal. The toppings were the right amount and the same goes for the cheese and sauce. It just worked. Nothing was out of balance. Nicely done.

I don’t know which was more delicious. The personalities of the men behind the counter, the owner and his son, or the food. Let’s call it a delightful draw on our first visit to Pizzalchik. We loved the yummy eats and warm greeting and fun meets funky ambiance. But for a Boise friend who took us in here we would have missed it altogether. We’re glad to have found Pizzalchick. Based on the mixed bag of reviews we entered as skeptics. We exited as fans. We will happily return. THEVIBE I can see why some folks might be confused on first entry without the guidance of a long time Pizzalchick fan such as our Realtor friend who brought us here. It is eclectic for décor and seating arrangement and you need to know the path to the order counter. But settled into all that, it is just right. Offering up a comment here as counterpoint to some other reviews that mentioned problems with cleanliness at the restaurant, Imy hubby and I are pretty sensitive to that measure ourselves and we thought the place looked darned spiffy! Loved that the«mascot» on the order counter holding the ‘soup of the day’ option sign was dressed just like the owner(who is also a rock band drummer) in tie-dye tee and skullcap. To pass the time while we chatted about Boise we looked at the faces on the big poster of music legends past and present and pointed out Jim Morrison, David Crosby, Janis Joplin… to our much younger friend who still knew the music. Quality endures! THEDRILL Come to the counter for a menu or to read the menu board overhead. You will be greeted and asked if it is your first visit in and if so you’ll learn that everything is scratch made in this kitchen. Once ordered, take a seat anywhere in the restaurant and food is delivered to you when it is ready. THEFOOD&VALUE, The menu includes options from in house roasted chicken to pizza to soup to salads to dessert.(The latter included two cheesecakes on our visit. I’m still kicking myself for not taking a slice to go.) The menu would make omnivores and vegetarians both happy. Several gluten free items too. Our friend had the house salad, which is unlike anything I’ve seen and next time this will be on my «to order» line up. It included greens topped with beets, rice noodle salad and a host of other items. She said it was delicious. I believe her. My hubby and I shared a wild mushroom pizza. The soft yet chewy crust made both of us happy and he’s a Brooklyn native who is often critical of pizza crust.(I think it is part of the Brooklyn DNA.) The sauce was flavorful, the toppings were just enough to be generous but not to much to be overwhelming and it easily fed two or even three. Bill for three well fed people was about $ 25 and we had some of the pizza left to take away. Great value. THEFUNNYTHING As we waited on our order two couples of about my husband’s and my age arrived and they looked as buttoned up as we do. It was their first time in and I could glean from the expression on their faces that they were thinking«Oh oh…» They talked to each other soft voices and«what do you think…» mode as they looked at the menu. Then the pizza arrived at our table. One husband said to one wife«THAT looks good. I wonder what that is.» I replied it was the wild mushroom pizza. The owner, a delightfully funny guy, said to this perplexed foursome, «Pay no attention to the trio at that table. I just set them near the counter to model the food.» Ta dum. Everyone laughed. The foursome ordered and you could see they were set now to be happy too. THEPS The Food Network show Diners Drive-ins and Dives apparently made a visit to Pizzalchik some time ago. I find the bearded ding-dong who hosts DDD particularly annoying and sometimes to cut off my nose to spite my face, I will not go to a place if I’ve heard he has pitched it. I’m glad I didn’t liet that«Anti DDD» bias get in the way of going to PizzalChik. THIS N THAT 1) LOCATION: This in in a tiny strip mall. Hard to see if you don’t know it’s there. Look for the Jimmy John’s on the corner which is easy to spot. 2) PARKING: Small lot with several parking spaces. 3) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking in lot. Level in and throughout. Most seating is standard height tables and chairs.

My wife and I went here with her parents when they came to visit. The experience was great. The father and son that were working when we were there were very helpful and friendly. We had a hole chicken salad and a pizza and everything was great. I’m a little picky when it comes to food so the salad was a little weird to me but for the most part it was good. Chicken was perfectly cooked and tasted great. And the pizza was tasty. The only thing I was a little upset about was that they didn’t recycle their glass bottles that their sodas come in. :(

As seen on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives( ), what I can say is that they do make an interesting pizza, and provide some personality to the standard pizza place. On my visit here I had the Wild Forest Mist Pizza($ 15.39) recommended to me. It definitely sounded interesting, topped with elk sausage, wild mushrooms, and red peppers. I also elected for the spicy option. First bite impression: holy overpowering mushroom!!! with a slightly grainy-like textured and very elky sausage after-bite to go with it. How that was a local favorite, and award winner, I just don’t understand. Then again, I’m not a local. It did make me sad though, because I could tell this place was special, and perhaps had I gone with a different choice, things could’ve been better. But alas, I didn’t, and just didn’t get much enjoyment out of the pizza. I also ordered some Jalapeño Poppers($ 1.25/ea), as I’m a huge lover of Jalapeño Poppers, but these fell short. The cheese inside was something of a medium cheddar, and they were completely unseeded. I was warned that they were hot(spicy), but I’m fine with spicy so I took no care, it was then that I realized I had bit don on a good bunch of seeds and all the membranes, and my eyes started to tear up. The taste was off too as the cheese in it was weird, and it just also wasn’t enjoyable. Lastly, the only thing that I seemed to choose right, the bubble bread($ 2). I was told it was a staff favorite, and one bite into it, I could see why. YUUUUM. They’re basically a large slice of bread with a layer of cream cheese spread on it, and a layer of cheese on top of that, and then put in the oven just long enough to melt the cheeses and warm up the bread. Hands down the best thing I had on my trip here.
