R Bar

I seriously love this place! It’s exactly the kind of place I remember spending much too much time in when I was living in Atlanta and drinking way too much, and I no longer have to reminisce. I can live it all over again.
My husband and I stopped in here for a quick drink after our burgers at Burger Belly, we had an hour to kill before we had to pick up our son from daycare and we didn’t want it to go to waste. It’s not fancy and perfectly divey, in the best best way. The energy was friendly and all the patrons seemed like regulars but also super welcoming. On this day there were also some super cute dogs in the bar, bonus! It’s not the biggest space, but it probably lends itself to a more social atmosphere overall, but if you’re not into socializing with strangers there’s a dartboard, a large tv and one of those video game thingies at the end of the bar. This place compels me to take my search for a new sitter much more seriously.

One of my favorite drink spots in Boise! Laid back, drink prices reasonable, awesome staff and (of course) great spot for football season! There’s a reason why casual visitors start to become regulars… and that’s because staff AND patrons make you feel like you’re at home!

A great mix of people. Kyle the bartender is knowledgeable and makes great drinks. Nice patio. Good weekly specials. All in all, one of my favorite places to meet friends!

Our favorite boise bar hands down. The atmosphere is always great– the drinks are perfect and don’t cost an arm and a leg. The bar itself is really cool and has something for everyone. It’s located close to BSU on Broadway. The back patio is nice and has lots of seating. We always have a great time and there are always equally great people here. Best bar in Boise. Our drinks are always perfect, and the bartenders are great and take care of their patrons.

Great staff, and fair drink prices!

I went to the R bar after a BSU football game to wait for traffic to die down. The staff there were so friendly from the time I ordered my drink to when left.
The drink I ordered was perfect and at a great price.

Just a great bar to have a random beer at on Sunday afternoon, or party at after a football game. Some friends refer to it’s location as the «Bar-​muda Triangle» as End Zone and Suds are a short stumble across the street! Not too hipster, not too college-​y.
Bonus: It’s clean (imagine that on Broadway)! with great specials everyday. They also have a little patio out back.

The R Bar. It has replaced the Iron Gate as the destination for the BSU college crowd looking to unwind after a hard week. Their overall beer selection is reasonably priced and offers stiff competition to the longstanding Suds and End Zone across the street. Do not expect Dick McDouche to show up here to ruin any parties as drama and BS are not allowed.
